Mum was one of the first residents to move into the home when it opened in May 2021 and during the year she has received the utmost care and attention. The caring and good-natured staff have been great in anticipating and meeting her increasing personal care, dietary requirements and health needs. Moving
from a family home to a care home was a difficult but necessary decision and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have Elmbrook Court Care Home on our doorstep.
Reply from Rebecca Warman, General Manager at Elmbrook CourtThank you Sue, your mum has touched the lives of all our team members during her stay with us here at Elmbrook Court, we are so grateful to have been given the opportunity to care and look after her; and thank you for your kind words. We look forward to seeing you in the home during one of your next visits.

Elmbrook Court Care Home made Mum's transition into the home very easy. They not only made sure all medical issues were considered but also took time to find out about her likes and interests.
Mum is always praising the staff and saying how patient, kind and friendly they all are. She is extremely
happy and content there. They offer a variety of group activities to all residents.
The home is beautifully appointed. It feels spacious and calming. I thoroughly recommend this home to anyone considering care for their loved one.
Reply from Jim Macleod, Head of Client and Resident Experience at Elmbrook CourtWe really appreciate you taking the time to let us know how you feel about Elmbrook Court. Staff are very friendly and responsive to suggestions. The new name badges are clear with big print so the staff names are much easier to read.
Very hospitable, allowing relatives to eat with residents for an occasional meal. A table was set up in Mum's room so we could eat in style. Very caring.
Reply from Jim Macleod, Head of Client and Resident Experience at Elmbrook CourtThank you! We are always open to suggestions to make the resident's experience more positive and enjoyable. Glad you enjoyed your meal.

Whilst my father has only been with you for 5 days I cannot thank you all enough for your kindness, compassion, and consideration of my father's needs. Your desire to help him feel comfortable is very much appreciated by our whole family. Everyone we have met has been so very kind to us as a family
too - thank you.

Although mum was only at Elmbrook Court for a month the care she received was excellent. The ambience was warm and welcoming and her room was well laid out and a pleasant place in which to relax. The activities were engaging, particularly the choir which mum really loved.
Mum felt she wasn’t quite
ready for residential care but we were very impressed and hope she might change her mind in the future.
Reply from Jim Macleod, Head of Client and Resident Experience at Elmbrook CourtWe would be delighted to welcome Mum back, we miss her in the choir!

I had the potentially difficult job of finding a new home for my elderly Mum suffering from dementia and arranging the move. After a little searching, I discovered Elmbrook Court. Having now been there it is a lovely place - clean modern and spacious. From beginning to end the whole transition was most
professionally and caringly managed. The team coordinated by the Head of Client and Resident Experience arranged the transport, Covid testing, and supplies of medication. On arrival the staff were fantastic, laying on a real welcome, and getting Mum settled in right away. Within an hour Mum was chatting and smiling and drinking coffee and tucking into biscuits and a baked potato. Nothing seemed too much trouble. I had approached this with some trepidation given Mum's condition, and resistance to change. But in the end, everything ran as smooth as clockwork, and a potentially stressful situation became a pleasurable one. Many thanks to the team. Ratings are based on preliminary views.
Reply from Jim Macleod, Head of Client and Resident Experience at Elmbrook CourtThank you! We understand just how stressful the process of finding a care home and the logistics of moving a loved one can be so we are happy to oblige to ensure a positive and happy experience.

Thank you for looking after our friend. Everybody I met at Elmbrook bent over backward to make our friend's stay perfect. From the first day I took our friend to view Elmbrook I was impressed by the professional but friendly service. On all of my visits, every member of staff made us so welcome and
it was apparent that our friend was in a safe and caring environment. Hats off to you all.

Dad simply couldn't have better care than at Elmbrook Court. The facility is new and built to a very high standard. The rooms are beautifully furnished, and Dad has a patio with tables and chairs to enjoy the Autumn sun. The staff are outstanding, friendly, caring and considerate, and really good fun,
which is sometimes missing in care facilities. We were worried that Dad wouldn't settle after living alone for so long, but he has thrown himself into his new life - coffee morning, bell-rining, cinema club. He looks healthy and happy. Thank you.

My mother moved here the first week of opening, she was made to feel very welcome by everyone at Elmbrook Court.
Prior to her move, we were given every opportunity to visit the care home and ask any questions about her individual needs. The manager always took calls and answered our questions.
My
mother has settled quickly into the home; she tells me the food is delicious. Her room is ensuite, spacious with plenty of storage. Her care is good, and the staff are friendly and approachable.
She hasn't joined in with activities as she prefers to read in her room.
The home isn't finished yet, and she is looking forward to enjoying the new gardens.
Reply from Jim Macleod, Head of Client and Resident Experience at Elmbrook CourtWe are so excited that the gardens are being landscaped at the moment and all the patio furniture is ready to be put in place!

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.851)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.851) out of 10 for Elmbrook Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.951 for Elmbrook Court is calculated as follows: ( (173 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 182 Ratings = 4.951
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Elmbrook Court is based on 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 74 registered maximum number of service users is 14.8, which has been reached with 16 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
