Farnham Mill had organised a weekend BBQ for residents and associated family members and friends. We attended the event are were welcomed by the staff and spent an afternoon being serenaded by a professional singer as well as enjoying drinks and BBQ food. A great social event was had by all.

The care of my mother-in-law is exceptional. The whole family are welcomed and treated with respect. The staff have an excellent rapport with residents. The transition to full-time care was made less painful for my wife during what is naturally a difficult time.

My mum moved from another home (same chain) to Farnham Mill last September due to her changing needs. I really like the light, open, bright and airy feel of the home. Each time I visit all of the staff on every level are very welcoming towards me and are so kind and caring towards Mum and all residents. The home is kept spotless and has beautiful gardens which are very well-tended, for residents to enjoy. There are plenty of activities planned each week also visits from singers, dancers, therapy dogs, pigmy goats and recently chickens and ducks to name a few. I am always notified immediately if there are any changes in Mum's care or condition this gives me much reassurance that Mum is in the best place possible.

Staff are always extremely helpful and friendly when visiting. It must be easy to get distracted working in a nursing home, but you never feel a burden asking for extra support for the person you're visiting. Staff know residents' first names and are constantly visible and providing care. This is an ease to my mind. I have a lot of respect for those providing the care, and they do so with patience and respect.

Farnham Hill continues to achieve the highest standards. Their care for my mother is individually tailored, skilful, gentle and kind. A recent chest infection was quickly spotted and she was on prophylactic medication on the same day. As dementia progresses there is a risk of loss of dignity. I see continuing attention to my mother's nutrition, comfort and appearance. I attribute this success largely to the continuity of staffing and respect between colleagues at all levels, from cleaners (without whom the best care in the world would struggle) to general managers.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Farnham Mill for over 4 years. We cared for her ourselves for several years but know we don't have to worry about her because she's better cared for at Farnham Mill, with regular GP visits etc. She's always calm and content, reflecting the atmosphere created in the home. The care staff are so patient, kind and attentive with her and she's always clean, in clean clothes. It's lovely how they pamper her when doing her hair and nails. The food's excellent and is prepared on the premises. The home is purpose-built, well-equipped, well-maintained and always smells clean and fresh.
There's a full, activity timetable that varies weekly, which she (and I) can join in with as much as she wants. She particularly enjoys the musical entertainment, animal visits and family activities like picnics and fireworks.

I can visit whenever I want and always get a warm welcome and friendly chat at reception, which really helps! Thanks so much to all the staff.

My husband was at Farnham Mill Nursing Home for over three years, during which time his mental capacity deteriorated seriously. From day one, he received first-class care, not only medically but with every attention given to his personal needs (including his quite large appetite!) Loving consideration was given to him as an individual and his dignity was always respected.
I have the highest praise for all the staff, from senior to the most junior. As well as their care of my husband, they were unfailingly kind to me; they made me feel like one of the family.

At the time of my husband’s death, he was nursed with loving and understanding care and his sister and I were given unstinting care and kindness.

My father lived at Farnham Mill for 7 months having moved from Hill Brow (part of the same group of care homes), during which time he became increasingly frail. All the staff were fabulous; incredibly caring and supportive and always treated Dad with dignity and respect. While he was still able to, he enjoyed some of the activities, particularly anything musical.
My sister and I were kept well informed of any issues and were very much a part of any decision-making regarding his welfare. We were always made to feel welcome and the staff really looked after us in Dad's last few days in particular.

I cannot recommend Farnham Mill highly enough!

The visit was a two-week respite stay for my mother over the Christmas holidays, shortly after being discharged from hospital. She had an initial reticence because of her love of her own home but quickly settled. She thought all of the staff were amazing, always attentive and pleasant. The food was lovely and there is no doubt in my mind that she has grown stronger physically and mentally during her stay.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone with similar needs.

My friend was a resident for 7 months and I visited at least twice a week. The two girls on reception were always polite and welcoming perfect for greeting visitors. The care staff is very easy to chat to and always around if needed. The nursing staff is second to none. There is always something going on for residents and we joined in many of the garden parties, afternoon teas and sing-a-longs.

Delighted with the care received since my father moved in a couple of months ago. My father and his close family are always made extremely welcome - the staff on the door always remember all of our names, and always get up to help my disabled mother open the door when she visits as soon as they see her approaching. Attention was taken to fully understand all of my father's care needs, in particular special diet. During the settling-in period as staff got to know my father they constantly adjusted and added to the detailed care plan to make sure everything was exactly as he liked down to the tiny details – for example, the TV put on for him daily onto channel he likes and tea served without too much milk! They even allowed us to host a small celebration event for my parent's 60th wedding anniversary and when we turned up with our food (as agreed) we found they had laid out the room beautifully with flowers and set out the table for everyone in the family. Cannot recommend them enough.

My father was a resident at Farnham Mill Nursing Home for 21 months and he received the best of care. He loved his bright, spacious room and the communal areas. He really enjoyed the gorgeous gardens and waterway, taking great delight in watching the bird life. The staff across all areas are exceptional, treating him with great care and kindness. The level of care adjusted seamlessly as his needs increased on his Dementia journey. We were hugely grateful he got to spend his final days in such a warm, caring environment, surrounded by people who became like family, caring for not only my father but the extended family as we struggled with this difficult disease. We cannot praise Farnham Mill and all the staff more highly, thank you all so much.

My mum moved into the Farnham Mill Nursing Home in July after a rapid deterioration in her health.
After looking at several care homes, we decided upon the Farnham Mill, as we felt that this was where she would receive the best care and we have not been disappointed.
The staff have all been so kind, caring and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. They have gone above and beyond to make us feel at home and help support us through this difficult time. My mum is treated with dignity, respect and above all kindness.
No one ever really wants to find themselves in a position where they have to move a loved one into a care home but it gives me peace of mind to know how well cared for she is.
I would unreservedly recommend the Farnham Mill to anyone looking for a care home for their loved one.

It’s given me my faith back that there are some lovely care homes out there. A huge thank you to the entire staff at the Farnham Mill who make this the wonderful place it is!
