Big thank you to all staff at Farnham Mill who's professional expertise, dedication, determination and kindness helped my mother through a very difficult time. The care she received is second to none and am pleased to say that mum is doing well and seems very happy and well once again. The family are very grateful to the entire team.

My father passed away last year, the staff are very caring and helped mum to settle in the home without him. Nothing is too much trouble and if I have any concerns about her they deal with it straight away. I am very pleased with her care and have no hesitation to recommend the home to anyone. There are loads of activities on offer and make visitors very welcomed.

Overall Farnham Mill cared for my terminally ill husband very well. It was good that the nurses liaised willingly with staff from the local hospice and the tissue viability nurse - without these people I think his care would not have been nearly as good. However, sometimes the staff seemed slow to respond to changes in his condition and were slow to give him pain relief. I felt that they waited for him to ask for help even after this became difficult for him as he became weaker and sometimes dosey or confused. It helps when a visitor discusses concerns with senior staff. He disliked the nights and felt that the night staff were often too busy to respond quickly to calls for assistance. He felt that they were "unapproachable" . My main concern about his being in a nursing home was how much of the time he spent alone, but some of this was his choice when he was still mobile and could have joined in more activities.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. It was a real honour to care for your husband, providing palliative care in partnership with the Palliative Care Team. We are really proud of always answering 90% of our call bells under 3 minutes, day or night, but sometimes it can feel longer...

My mother has been at Farnham Mill for several years now. I can't fault the care she receives in any way. Additionally the staff are always extremely welcoming to visitors. This year we have had the new challenge of getting my mother to and from hospital appointments and procedures, and the home has provided perfect guidance and practical support for this process.

The staff are lovely and it's nice that they are permanent so residents and family get to know them. Everybody is friendly. Seem to have lots of activities but unfortunately, my father does not want to take part. It would be good for him to get out more. Always clean and family can visit whenever we want.

I can not ask for a better caring home for my brother, the staff are always welcoming and nothing is too much trouble from the moment I step into the building, I am greeted with a smile and welcome using my name. The Receptionist I see on my visits treats everyone with the same care and the staff you can tell are dedicated to their work. I know my brother is in safe hands.

My dad was a resident of Farnham Mill for just over a year and the care he received there was outstanding. Farnham Mill is a lovely environment with excellent facilities, the highest standards of cleanliness and great food but it is the staff who make it so special. All of the staff are wonderful - friendly, professional, compassionate and caring. My dad was always treated with kindness and respect and it is clear that the staff constantly strive to provide the best care possible. Family and other visitors were welcomed at any time and the communications and updates from nursing staff were very helpful. In the last days of his life my dad received exceptional nursing care and such kindness from everyone at the home who were also so supportive towards myself and my mum. It is a very difficult decision to have to choose a nursing home for a parent but I could not recommend Farnham Mill more highly.

Mum was a resident of Farnham Mill for 2 years she sadly passed away at Christmas. We were so pleased that we found Farnham Mill Nursing Home and it gave the family comfort that she was being looked after so well. The friendly and professional staff from the lovely receptionist to the professional carers and nurses helped mum to live the best life she could with Alzheimer's. There was always a lot of activities for mum. Mum was always an elegant lady who loved her clothes and jewellery she was always well dressed. More importantly for us she was happy at FM. When the time came to say goodbye to mum the staff looked after us as well, realising what a sensitive time it was for the family and giving us a lot of support and kindness. For anyone in this situation I cannot recommend FM highly enough, if you are in the heart-breaking situation where a loved one needs 24/7 care, please consider this residential care home, your loved ones will be in a safe pair of hands with the lovely staff and treated with dignity.

I would like to say how happy I am with the love and care mum receives from the lovely staff at Farnham Mill. It is a lovely clean nursing home with friendly dedicated staff. My sisters and I think it's the best. There are so many different activities they do with the residents and some they include the families too. Well done and thank you to the team, a great job you are all doing.

Our beloved mother passed away in December. Every staff member of the Care Home was outstanding in their care, kindness, professionalism and all-round brilliance. Mum had been unwell for about a month, and it felt different this time as if she wasn't going to bounce back. I had many conversations with the amazing GM and Nurses about the reality of the situation. They were so supportive and assured me that mum would be cared and loved for until the end at Farnham Mill. We did not want her to go to Hospital. The staff were fantastic about keeping the family updated as to her condition enabling my two sons to get down from Manchester in time to see her. I will never forget their kindness and sensitivity to both mum and us as she neared the end. Also, after she passed peacefully away without pain. They cared for all of us as they did our mother and grandmother. Seeing staff at the funeral also showed just how much they really did care. They are quite simply the best without a doubt!

My parents have been residents for four years and I am really happy to say that the level of individual care for each of them has been exceptional during the whole time. All the staff are so friendly, caring and professional. The regular reports for each parent are informative and demonstrate a very personal understanding by the staff. The many activities are well organised and provide plenty of variety and sociability to the residents' morning and afternoons. The staff are also so friendly and welcoming to all visitors and are quick to recognise us each time we visit. Our family are so grateful for the kindness and care given to my parents every day.

My dad has been at Farnham Mill now for almost a year. We are really pleased with how well he has settled in and feel entirely confident that he is well looked after and cared for. We looked at a number of different options for dad, but felt that Farnham Mill was more of a community and the staff were a team. It's a lovely environment with very little, if any, staff turnover. Residents are encourage not to sit alone in their rooms all day. There are lots of activities to get involved in. The staff are amazing in every way!

I have a great love for Farnham Mill Nursing Home and my experience has always been exemplary.
Having been the daughter of two past residents and a volunteer, I have continued my association even after the passing of my mum and dad. I felt I did not want to drop my connection with Farnham Mill and continue to help as often as I can to collect urgent prescriptions and make errands to the hospital and doctor's surgery. Also on these visits I am able to interact with the residents, many of whom I have come to know very well.

There is always a friendly welcome from all the staff as soon as you walk through the front door. The loving, caring atmosphere throughout the home is heart warming. It has been a great pleasure to help at Farnham Mill. I hope I can continue my connection for many years to come.

I am a volunteer at Farnham Mill. My parents were residents for nearly four years. In this time I got to know many of the staff really well and I became part of the "Farnham Mill family". When both my parents passed away I found that I did not want to lose my connection with Farnham Mill, so I became a volunteer. I now help every fortnight with the flower arranging activity which takes place every week. The residents get together and thoroughly enjoy taking part, sharing a laugh and a joke with volunteers and staff whilst making some lovely flower arrangements! At the end of the session, it is time for a cup of tea and a chat with individual residents and the vases of flowers are taken to residents' rooms for them to enjoy. I look forward to my visits to Farnham Mill and I always leave feeling that with the help of the wonderful staff and volunteers I have helped in a small way to achieve a happy and positive experience for the residents which is the essence of Farnham Mill.

It's difficult (impossible?) to fault the care given at Farnham Mill. They have made the difficult transition from independence at home to what is, let's face it, an institutional environment bearable. All staff go out of their way to make everyone completely at ease with the decision. They are superb and genuinely care.

I am very happy with the care my mother is receiving. My mother was fiercely independent but had a stroke last year and needs nursing care. She was in another home but hated it and was becoming depressed. Farnham Mill really looks at how to stimulate their residents and has scheduled events especially because that will interest my mother. Her mood and health have improved as a result. I am very happy with the care she received.

The nursing home staff are excellent. There are key staff who care for Mum and Dad who we and they have good relationships with. We know them by name and they know ours. This ranges from reception staff to the maintenance team as well as nurses and carers. Both parents are well cared for, safe and content.

Our parents have been residents at Farnham Mill for exactly a year and during that time our lives have been completely transformed for the better. Staff respect our parent's desire for privacy and independence but they also understand that gentle encouragement to get involved in individual and group activities can be hugely beneficial and enjoyable. They have their own lovely garden room with a patio and stream close by but are also involved in the gardening and cooking clubs and enjoy music and dancing regularly. Their lives are fuller than was possible in the last few years living independently. As relatives, we have the peace of mind that their physical and mental health, eyesight, weight and teeth are constantly monitored and illnesses are shorter and less stressful for them than before. It is a pleasure to visit our parents now and to take part in community events. Our parents cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful staff at Farnham Mill and everything they do for them.
