My mother has been at Farnham Mill for over a year. Physically she is so much better. When she came in she had been cared for at home and was in bed all day with swallowing issues. Now she is eating solid food, sometimes by herself, and is up and dressed every day. The staff are all extremely kind and welcoming and as agencies are not used you get to know them. Some of the dementia patients (including my Mum) are on the same floor as nursing patients which creates more of a family atmosphere where everyone is accepted. The home is very bright and airy and it is great to be able to get out into the garden and look at the ducks. A good range of activities are proposed so there is something for everyone. My mother particularly enjoys when singers come in which seems to happen every week. It is such a relief to have the nurses there and to be able to ask them whenever there are medical issues.
We are so proud of our fantastic, permanent team - no agency staff results in a team built on longevity and dedication to offer the best care for our residents.

My mother has been in Farnham Mill for over a year now. I visit her almost daily and I am always greeted warmly on arrival by the excellent reception staff and all the staff make me feel so welcome. I am kept updated of illnesses and issues by the nursing staff regularly. I witness daily the endless patience and kindness shown to some of the more challenging residents by the care staff and indeed by all staff. Residents are treated with respect and dignity. They are encouraged, but not forced, to join in the varied activities by an enthusiastic and friendly activities team. Their food preferences are always respected where possible, and residents and their rooms are kept clean. I would certainly recommend Farnham Mill as a nursing home should you need care for a loved one.

The staff at Farnham Mill are absolutely amazing and as we are going into his third year soon, to see the same familiar faces is amazing and a credit to the company.
A special mention is definately needed for Prabesh who is the best carer I have come across, so caring, patient and fun but in fact every single one of the staff seem to be happy to be working there which is lovely to see.
Maxine on reception also does an amazing job and makes you feel very welcome.

I continue from last year in the sane vane. I am so grateful for all the care and support that each and everyone of the staff provide to my mum. From a warm welcome on a Sunday morning from the lovely weekend receptionists, to those that launder mums clothes, staff that keep her room immaculately clean, the kitchen staff who provide the most lovely meals and snacks to those who directly support mum with care and the entertainments team who work so hard to encourage not just my mum but all the residents in participating in activities, keeping them moving and providing fun, not forgetting Prabesh's manicure skills that i witnessed on a recent visit. I really could not be more comforted to know that mum is in safe hands. Dad has clearly made relationships with most of the carers, nurses, activities staff and ancillary members of the team- they always ensure he is included in what is going on, are aware of his needs and are reactive to how he is feeling- showing patience and give him time to communicate whatever it is he wants to say.
There is always a happy atmosphere and there is always something happening or event being planned.

Based on these twelve months of personal experience, I can only repeat the outstanding review I gave it last year.
My husband, aged 93, who was seriously mentally and physically ill on admission last year, has made considerable improvements in both these areas, thanks to the professional care and personal dedication of all staff.
He feels esteemed and respected, an important factor in everyone's life and receives as much stimulation as is possible to give to anyone who lives under these conditions.
Throughout the year, regular review meetings and ad- hoc conversations with nursing and managerial staff have helped me to resolve and cope with complex situations regarding my husband's welfare.
I have no hesitation in recommending Farnham Mill to anyone who is looking for a care home where high professionalism matches personal dedication.

The all round care is great. All the needs of the residents are met. The carers have a lot of time to stop and take the time of day with residents. It is a lovely, calm and homely place. Reception staff are always really friendly and welcoming.

My mother has been cared for at this wonderful home for nearly 2 years. And it truly is a home. It is warm and welcoming and full of kindness and care. I sometimes get so comfortable there I have a nap on the sofa with Mum! From the moment you enter the home there is a feeling of warmth and friendliness from all the staff. The level of care and attention for my mother is second to none and they are always attentive and looking for ways to engage her and made her life as fulfilling as possible. Living a considerable distance from Farnham Mill means that my visits to my mother are not as frequent as I would wish. However, when I do visit, everyone makes me feel incredibly welcome and the team ensure I am able to make the most of the precious time I can spend there. Mum's mobility is now reduced but the staff make sure that she is part of what goes on at Farnham Mill and spend time engaging with her - I never fail to be amazed at their kindness, care, patience and empathy. Mum recently celebrated her 91st birthday and if I'm honest I think what keeps her going, as well as the excellent care, is the wonderful food, well, mainly the puddings and cakes and lots of tea!! I will be visiting again later this month and I am really looking forward to seeing mum but also the team and the other residents. It is like a big family, and I am glad Mum has that each and every day.

I am Alison Lee the Proprietor of Woodlands & Hill Brow Ltd. I am a nurse with a degree in Nursing and a Diploma in Elderly Care. I left the NHS where I was Ward Manager of an elderly care unit at the Royal Free Hospital when I assumed control of Woodlands & Hill Brow Ltd following my mother's retirement in 1998.
I am immensely proud of the standards of care we achieve and the family ethos and feel which runs through the heart of our homes.
Hello, my name is Laura Cooper, I have worked for the Lee family for over 8 years and I am extremely proud to be the General Manager for Woodlands and Hill Brow’s four homes. With over 20 years of previous Leadership and HR experience behind me, I work with the homes daily to promote and ensure that the happiness of our residents and all our permanent staff members remains at the heart of all we do.
Hello, my name is Sahlee, I have worked for Woodlands and Hill Brow since 2011 as a home manager and as a Kings Nurse Specialist. My real passion in life is nursing and caring for the elderly. I specialise in palliative care and tissue viability. It is so important to me that the residents we care for are comfortable and happy and that every day we can help to improve their quality of life.
‘Working as the deputy manager in Farnham Mill NH has enabled me to utilise a wealth of transferable skills developed during my 42yrs nursing experience. I am a strong believer that here’s no real substitute for the intensely rewarding and fulfilling nature of looking after older people. I am very passionate about ensuring residents are provided with attentive and respectful care, at the same time ensuring that they retain their dignity and independence during the latter stages of life.
I love being able to take time to talk, listen and understand what matters to the resident, as It is important that residents can express choices and feel involved in the way their care is planned and delivered. My love of looking after older people enables me to utilise my skills to provide consistent, individualised care and support to residents in a care environment, knowing it makes a difference in the lives of the residents’.
I help support with any questions and concerns but what I love most is every day I get to meet new people, hear their life stories and build great relationships with them and their families. Once they have moved in it is a joy to watch our residents thrive and enjoy life, loved ones too.
I have over 25 years of experience in Hospitality, mostly as a chef. Prior to joining Woodlands and Hill brow, I spent 5 years working in a luxury care home in Andover, overseeing the kitchens, housekeeping, activities and maintenance departments. I really enjoy seeing happy residents enjoying their food and having fulfilled lives.
My goal is that my contribution through experience, passion and determination gives everyone living at Farnham Mill the best possible quality of life.
I have worked in the health and social care sector for the last 13 years. Every role has been in and around training and development. Being able to develop our staff to deliver even greater care and service to our residents is something I take great pride in. Woodlands & Hill Brow is a family-run business, and this is one of the main reasons I wanted to move here, away from more corporate roles.
Preparing, cooking and presenting good, tasty, wholesome food has always been my passion. I have cooked since I was very young. What I enjoy most about working in Care and cooking for the older generation is the interaction with the residents and the creation of personalised foods they will enjoy the most. While always being aware of hydration, taste, nutrition and the resident's personal enjoyment of the food.
I have been working at Farnham Mill as a front-of-house receptionist.
I worked for a well-known high street bank but changed my career which was inspired by my mum’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis and the impact it had and still has on my family’s lives. I am passionate about and love my role at Farnham Mill. To see families being able to spend time together is my real inspiration and to be able to spend time with our residents is a real privilege on a day-to-day basis.
I joined Farnham Mill in July 2018 and feel proud of my role as activities coordinator.
My passion is making our residents happy and I believe this is part and parcel of good care.
My job as activities coordinator allows me lots of opportunities to do this, through organising lots of different activities and trips that our residents enjoy. These include arts and crafts, quiz's, trips out to the pub, shopping and to garden centres. Plus lots of musical performances.
I am the Senior Nurse and Clinical Lead at Hill House. I joined Woodlands and Hill Brow Ltd in 2019, after working in a number of other nursing homes previously. I was drawn to Farnham Mill because I had heard about how the company offer outstanding care to their residents and takes care of its staff.
On a personal level, I have always been passionate about caring for the elderly, especially those with dementia. It is my belief our residents should receive excellent nursing care and I am proud to be part of the outstanding team at Farnham Mill.
I have worked with the Woodlands and Hill Brow group for more than 5 years, working my way up to Senior Nurse. I work with a great team of management, carers and domestic staff. I am particularly passionate about caring for residents with dementia. I enjoy working together to ensure our lovely residents are happy and cared for in every way possible.
I have worked for Woodlands and Hill Brow since 2018, first at Hill House as a carer and when Farnham Mill was built, I transferred over. I love working in such a beautiful purpose built, nursing home. The home allows us to provide the best possible care for our lovely residents. My name is Doug, I am the facilities manager for the Woodlands and Hill Brow Group. I am a qualified electrician and have been in the building industry for nearly 40 years. I was introduced to the team at Woodlands and Hill Brow Ltd when I was involved in the building of Hill House nursing home and then when I designed the electrical systems at Farnham Mill. I take pride in my maintenance team and in providing a safe, well maintained, attractive place for the residents and staff alike to live and work.
