All the staff at Floryn House are so lovely and friendly. My grandpa has only been a resident since September, but he already feels very settled and comfortable. He's found some lovely companions in both the residents and the staff, and I feel very fortunate that he's in such a good environment where
he's looked after so well.
Reply from Kelly Walker, Regional Director at Floryn House Care HomeThank you so much for your kind review. We are so pleased to read how well your Grandpa settled in. The staff work very hard to ensure all residents of Floryn feel as comfortable and well looked after. We will ensure the feedback is given to the staff. Once again, thank you.

A relative of mine has been and still is extremely happy with every aspect of the care home. They feel safe, warm and valued. They always have something nice and positive to say about staff and the care they are receiving. When visiting, the care home is always bright and relaxing. The staff are always
friendly and willing to help or accommodate any issues we have.

My father-in-law moved into Floryn House when they first opened. He was very warmly welcomed and everyone we met took time to get to know him and us and take care of him with compassion. During his time as a resident he developed a trusting, warm relationship with the nurses, carers and other staff
and he was very happy there. As a family we've found the home to be somewhere we all felt comfortable and happy and felt like we are part of a big family. When it came to death the home again dealt with it with great care and compassion. He was treated with the utmost respect and gentleness and our whole family were looked after incredibly well at what was a difficult time. We are forever grateful for that.

I have really enjoyed volunteering at Floryn House care home. I love helping such a wonderful dedicated team of caring staff members. Floryn House invites and involves the surrounding community also which I think is a special privilege for me and all of my fellow neighbours. We have all been welcomed
from the very beginning and have so enjoyed being involved which is something that so many of us have appreciated and enjoyed so much. There have been so many fantastic events and activities that I have enjoyed already with some of their lovely residents and staff members over the last few months and I cant wait for more. Floryn House is a beautiful care home with really caring staff and has amazing facilities all in a peaceful leafy part of Oxford. I'm especially lucky to live very close by to be part of it all.
Reply from Chelle Daly, Home Manager at Floryn House Care HomeThank you for such a wonderful review. It is a pleasure to have you as part of the team ensuring that our residents are able to have the best experience here at Floryn House. Your help is very much appreciated.

We use the Floryn House Care Home as day visitors. My husband has Parkinson's Disease, we may need full time care in the future. Whenever we visit we are welcomed into the Floryn House family. Everyone is very friendly, helpful and professional. The facilities are wonderful, up to date and very clean.

Mum has dementia and moved to Floryn 3 weeks ago from another care home. The home has a welcoming, positive energy and the staff are definitely 5-star - in Mum's words, they are lovely, friendly and kind. They are very attentive and patient and I feel reassured that Mum is being looked after in a kind,
caring and professional way. The manager too is very visible and involved with residents and relatives ensuring high standards are maintained. Mum has settled in well and we are very pleased with the care and attention she is receiving. Thank you Floryn!

From the moment we walked through the doors, we were met with warmth and professionalism. The staff, from the management team to the carers, are approachable, compassionate, and hold themselves to an exceptionally high standard. They took the time to get to know my father as an individual, and it was
clear that they genuinely cared about his well-being and happiness.
The home itself is welcoming and well-maintained, with a comforting atmosphere that immediately put us at ease. The level of care my father received was outstanding, and it was such a relief to know he was in such capable hands.
We are deeply grateful to everyone at Floryn House for creating a supportive environment that felt like an extension of our family. I wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful care home to anyone seeking a place where their loved ones will be treated with dignity, respect, and genuine care.

My father moved here in September and has been very happy here. The managers are able to create a lovely family atmosphere and are always prepared to muck in to help out. Everyone is very friendly and the staff cope with idiosyncrasies of the residents. The nurses are lovely and the carers treat my

I have nothing but praise for the team at Floryn House. My grandpa has his spark back and I can't thank the manager and her team enough for helping this to happen. I used to dread leaving him after a visit whilst he was living at home, but now I can leave after visiting knowing that he is safe and very
well looked after.
From the minute I walked in to view the home before his admission, I was made to feel welcome and whenever I visit now I feel part of the Floryn House family.
Thank you team Floryn!

My grandpa came here for respite initially but after only 5 days he decided he wanted to stay. Since moving in he has been warmly welcomed by all the staff and has settled in so well. It was always going to be a hard transition for him as he is a very independent man but due to the fantastic staff and
the support they have offered him, he has found it easier. We have just been to the official opening and the atmosphere is amazing, all residents looked really happy and the staff are so supportive and friendly, the food is fantastic. My grandpa especially likes that he is called by his name rather than sir. He has enjoyed meeting new people and being more sociable again, he especially likes that he can have a glass of wine with his lunch. Floryn House is a wonderful home and the main thing that makes it so wonderful is its staff. Thank you to everyone for taking such good care of my grandpa.

The staff are incredibly caring and always thinking of different, relevant activities for residents. The food is of very good quality with a choice at each meal, and wine! The chefs make great effort to check with residents what food they like and to get their feedback.
The atmosphere overall is very
positive, created by the warm and friendly team who seem to care about and enjoy time with residents. The indoor environment is very nice, light and cosy with a central meeting place for coffee and activities with separate lounge and dining areas. Particular care has been taken with the garden with a variety of different plants and places to sit. A real gem!

Our 96-year-old mother recently moved to Floryn House from a retirement village. Her needs had changed and she required a caring and welcoming care home. We were most fortunate her needs coincided with the opening of Floryn House. All the staff from the very start have been welcoming, friendly and caring
both to Mum and all our family when visiting. Facilities are first class. Staff are patient and always ready to have a chat with residents. Mum is very well looked after and appears very happy and settled. Floryn House is a credit to the manager and all her staff who have created an environment which is more like an extended family than a care home. We would have no hesitation in recommending Floryn House to somebody seeking a care home.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.933) out of 10 for Floryn House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 56 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 56 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.933 for Floryn House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (620 Excellents x 5) + (37 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 660 Ratings = 4.933
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Floryn House Care Home is based on 56 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 73 registered maximum number of service users is 14.6, which has been reached with 56 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Care Assistant

I have enjoyed dedicating 6 years of my life to caring for those who need it. I started my career in care as a support worker, looking after adults with learning difficulties. After my Nanny passed away in 2021, I decided to make a slight career change and dedicate my time to elderly care. I thrive on creating a positive environment for elderly people and make it my mission to put a smile on their faces, as I believe they deserve to be celebrated for all the service and sacrifices they have made, so I stand here today. It makes me happy to bring a little bit of brightness to their day. My future aspirations are to become a registered nurse at Floryn House.
