My sister, has settled very well at Four Oaks, when she first arrived here she was very frightened and confused and had just lost her husband. She has been made happy and secure in her surroundings and is very settled and calm. The kindness and attention from staff and good atmosphere has helped enormously. It is a great comfort to me and her son to see her happy and safe and confident in the staff and to know she is in right place.

Reply from Bev Davies, Home Manager at Four Oaks Nursing Home

The care home have given my mum exceptional quality of care since her arrival in 2021. The home and rooms are always clean and warm and she is really looked after. Staff go above and beyond with the quality of care they give. The food quality and choice is outstanding, in my opinion 5 star quality. Very happy overall with everything.

My husband is settled, happy and well cared for which means I can stop worrying for the first time in a long while. The staff, without exception, are kind, professional and go the extra mile. In the four months my husband has been a resident all the staff have got to know him really well and are able to anticipate his needs. He is prone to infections but their knowledge and attentive care allows them to intervene in a timely manner. The home is a home where friends and family are positively welcomed and included in day-to-day life. There is always something going on. The activities provided are meaningful and well-chosen to meet the needs of residents. My husband and I have enjoyed gardening, petting ponies, making flapjacks, church services and listening to live entertainment the list is endless. The professionalism of the nursing staff in keeping thorough records and the support of the management team has meant our application for continuing health care funding was successful.

My husband was admitted to Four Oaks in January 2024 after a rapid deterioration due to vascular dementia. I looked around several homes and as soon as I visited Four Oaks I was certain that this would be the home to meet my husband's complex needs. I have not been disappointed. His behaviour has been very challenging, but the staff treat him with unfailing kindness and respect and have called in specialist services when appropriate. They have also been very supportive of me during what has been a very difficult time. Other visitors comment on how clean and welcoming Four Oaks is. The fact that my husband is so well cared for is helping me through this sad time.

Whenever I go to visit my friend (a resident) in Four Oaks, I am always impressed with the welcome from staff. My first impression is of a care home well managed and spotlessly clean. There is nothing out of place. This is a care home managed to a high standard.

My mum has only been here a few weeks but the change is vast. She hadn't been out of bed in three months. She was up and in her chair the 2nd day. The staff are patient and kind nothing is too much trouble I can't praise them enough. I'm so happy to see my mum smiling and eating full meals. Everything is geared up to make her feel at home. Visits anytime, stay as long as you like, and lots of activities to keep residents occupied. It's wonderful it's like staying in a 5* hotel. Not one complaint. Put my name down for a room

Mum moved into Four Oaks in June after a very difficult few months for us as a family. The staff were great right from the start, keeping us informed and updated. You can see that all of the staff care so very much for the residents even when behaviour can be challenging. The activity coordinators are wonderful organising so many different activities for all of the residents. When there has been any issue it has been dealt with quickly. We feel very fortunate to have found this care home for mum.

Review from Ann N (Cousin of Resident) published on 22 August 2022 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My cousin is a resident here, and the care he is provided with is exemplary. I am a retired nurse and latterly a nurse lecturer, so I have lots of experience with care work. His room and all common areas are spotlessly clean. His behaviour can be challenging at times, but the staff are able to deal with it and deescalate difficult behaviours. I found the manager very knowledgeable and helpful. Well done to him for managing such great care for all.

Reply from Kean Mason, Home Manager at Four Oaks Nursing Home

Thank you for your kind words, and I will pass your appreciation to the previous Home manager and all staff as I am new in the role at Four Oaks. One of my priorities is to review and improve the current activities programme, which is key for all residents, so I appreciate your feedback. Hopefully, I can meet you on your next visit.

I would like to thank the two ladies who organised the activities they do an excellent job. The Queen's Jubilee and birthday party were great. My mum loves a good sing song and they always try to get her involved with different things. Mum has really come along in the seven months she has been at the home and it's due to everyone who works there. thanks to everyone you all make it a beautiful place to live.

I can't praise Four Oaks highly enough for the care my mum has received whilst she has been a resident there. It has a lovely feel when you walk it. It is kept beautifully clean, and when I have been there at mealtimes, the food looks and smells lovely, and I know my mum really enjoys it. Aside from the surroundings though, what I feel is the most important thing is the wonderful, caring staff that work there. The management, nursing staff and care assistants are second to none.

My mother loves living here, all staff are very approachable and very caring, can't do enough for my mum. Mum's bedroom is immaculate - always has clean clothes on every day and has a choice of meals which are freshly made that day. Mum can sit in her room or interact with her friends - she loves living here - wouldn't want her anywhere else.
