Mum is really happy. She loves the staff who are always cheerful and nothing is too much trouble for them when assisting my mum. Home from home atmosphere. Also, all staff work well together as a team over the period of Covid. Members of staff would go above and beyond keeping everyone safe.

We really appreciate you taking the time to do a review for us. Mum has really settled on Cherry Bark unit and it is as always loving seeing you and the family visiting, especially with the young one. Thank you.

My friend has been in the home for approximately four months. He had spent six months prior in hospital. I feel he is well cared for in all fields and is making good progress.

My mum was in Four Oaks for seven weeks for respite care whilst essential work was carried out on her house. After doing a lot of research, I knew Four Oaks would be the best place for her, and luckily, a respite place came available at the right time. My mum's care was excellent, and she really enjoyed her stay. All the staff were so kind, and my mum 100% enjoyed every aspect.

Reply from Kean Mason-Buckley, Home Manager at Four Oaks Nursing Home

Thank you for your positive review of our home. It has been a pleasure caring for your mum and it was lovely to see she found a new friend along the way. Naturally, mum is welcome any time if you need any further respite in the future.

Review from Teresa W (Sister of Resident) published on 1 December 2021 Submitted via Postal Card

My sister was in Four Oaks for 8-months, and her care could not have been better. The love, support and patience was a joy to see. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and everything was done with a smile, which the residents responded to. The home was run well with the manager available to everyone, the office staff were courteous and very helpful. The support given to relatives was thoughtful and empathetic. I would recommend this home with pleasure.

The reasonable adjustments made for individuals are outstanding. The loving care the staff give to each and every resident is incredible. I have seen my brother go from a distressed and unhappy person on arrival to a happy and contented individual in just a few weeks there. It gives me and my family peace of mind to know he is safe and happy.

I made the very difficult decision to find a care home for my mother after she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer earlier this year. My mother lived at Four Oaks Care Home for two months while her terminal cancer progressed aggressively and she passed away at the home. The amazing team at Unit One took care of my mother and was the most wonderful source of support to me. I visited the home regularly and got to know so many of the nurses, support workers and the management well. Without them this horrendous period in my mother and my life would have been even more intolerable. My heartfelt thanks go to the home manager and the team at the office. The truly special support workers and nurses in Unit One, four members of staff in particular and another special shout out to another member of staff. All of you supported my mum and I so well, I don’t know what I would have done without your support and empathy. You all have a really challenging job looking after residents who are unwell and need support. I will be grateful to you all forever.

Dad went into the care home for respite care in April/May 2020. He came home at the end of May. I looked after him till Oct. He went into the care home in October for assessment. He was finally assessed in December. It was decided that it was best for dad to stay in the care home permanently. He seems to have settled in nicely. All of the staff are very helpful.

My husband has been a resident at Four Oaks for nearly 3 years and I couldn’t wish for a nicer home. He is well cared for always clean, well-fed and very content. The home is a very modern well kept and maintained home that I would recommend to anyone. The staff are the most friendly people you could meet and will go that extra mile for you nothing is too much trouble for them.

Everyone at Four Oaks is amazing. They give support, help, company, friendship and lots of care to the residents. In the last 12 months during the pandemic, they have gone over and above to make sure all the residents feel loved and not forgotten. They are all truly special people and I and my family are so grateful to them.

Dad's condition and wellbeing has deteriorated recently, the staff at the home are absolutely brilliant, nothing too much trouble. They keep the family well informed and meet Dad's needs on a daily basis. Dad has settled in and the staff are very accommodating when he is displaying challenging behaviour.

We have all struggled with the restrictions that are in place to protect the residents of our care homes. But when my mum reached end of life care, we were allowed to spend time with her and we saw how much care the staff were providing from walking in to the activity manager playing the banjo and singing or on the last day when I was able to get there, there were 2 members of staff at her bedside caring for her. I would like to give six stars and give some thanks to particular members of staff, but you cannot do this here, but you really have some fabulous people working for you.
