Very satisfied to have found this care home for my relatives who have differing care needs. Regular contacts by newsletter and FaceTime have been extremely valuable, especially during the lockdown and I very much hope this will continue after restrictions are relaxed. It is not possible to make frequent regular visits, even after lockdown so this is essential for us. Staff are thoughtful, caring and polite in our experience.

My dad has been at Four Oaks since February 2020. He went straight into Four Oaks from hospital after breaking his hip in another care home. They had him up walking within days of moving in there. He is always clean and tidy, his care is wonderful, his room is lovely, all the staff are caring and compassionate and my dad likes it which is the most important thing.

Excellent and experienced staff and management.
Excellent caring staff at all levels towards my pops.

I can’t show my appreciation enough to all staff at Four Oaks. In these very hard times for the families of residents, it’s amazing to know that not one case of Covid-19 has penetrated the home. All I can say is what a very high standard of professionalism in all areas of staff at the home. Five star.

My mother has been a resident for over six months and for the first few months her behaviour was very challenging to say the least. Staff worked with her and together with their help and the right medication she has become settled. Staff are great and keep you up to date. The activity staff have worked hard during the Covid pandemic to arrange video calls to families with their loved ones. The only concern at the home is the quality of food which is not always warm or appetising and this does need to be addressed.

Reply from Kean Mason-Buckley, Home Manager at Four Oaks Nursing Home

Thank you for your comments and your encouraging words about the home. I acknowledge the concern with food and I will address with the kitchen to improve this area. If there is anything else that we can do to support you as a family then please let me know and we will do all that we can. Our service extends out to you too.

All staff are extremely friendly and genuinely care about the comfort and happiness of residents. Even when pushed for time, they always manage to find some for people that need it.

Love the regular cakes in reception!

A friendly home for mum and her visitors; with many genuinely caring, approachable staff covering all levels and roles, nothing is too much trouble with staff always happy to help.
The well-tended gardens are perfect for outdoor activities and socialising during the summer months. The activities team work extremely hard in expanding a range of activities to suit residents' abilities and interests; painting proving very popular with Mum.
In choosing a suitable care home; it was important that in addition to providing safe, quality care that the home's environment should be bright and cheery with space and privacy for making regular family visits enjoyable both for Mum and ourselves. Four Oaks met our criteria perfectly.
Pleased that the current manager operates an open-door policy to discuss any residents’ and relatives’ concerns or needs, also, that there are some great ideas for ongoing improvements.

We’ve no misgivings for making Four Oaks our first choice of care home for our Mum.

I was so relieved when my dad was given a place at Four Oaks as he had been stuck in the hospital for a few months and it was felt that it would not be right for him to return home due to his needs. He was welcomed so nicely by all staff and commented to my mum after a couple of days; that he felt that it 'would do us nicely', and I feel he is right as his surroundings at Four Oaks are superb. His room was freshly painted and was made appropriate to him. Despite a few emergencies stays back in the hospital, Dad has settled in extremely well. He is treated with respect as well as affection by the staff who support him well with his self-care and he interacts well with them. Dad has had excellent care from the nursing staff who deal with his complex medical needs very well. He eats well again and is quick to go to the dining area when he hears the food trolleys arrive. I feel confident that Dad is being well looked after and would like to thank the staff wholeheartedly for their care.

Always happy with the care of my mum, if I wasn't I would say. She is treated with the utmost respect, I feel I am just visiting her at home but there are lots of people there. It is definitely prestige care for her and is what she deserves, every aspect is important and this is fulfilled for her.

Mum has been here for approximately 2 months now. She had a long spell in hospital prior to this and needed nursing care going forward.

This was the first place we viewed and we immediately felt it was the right place for her. This is the first time I've visited mum here as I live in Jersey and am so pleased with the standard of care she is receiving. She is obviously being well looked after and all the staff have been brilliant with her. She said to me today this was the best place she has lived in, they are very caring.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we had to find a care home for our Mother. We visited quite a few, most were unsuitable to her needs, then we were offered Four Oaks. Mum moved in in January 2017. We have found the carers are above and beyound, the care or Mother is receiving shows in her wellbeing. Her room is spotless, this is down to the caring domestic staff who also go above and beyond. All staff chat whilst tending to our Mother which keeps her involved. All in all, we feel we can come away knowing our Mother is in safe hands.

2 x daily activities. Friendly staff make an effort to get to know the residents and care for all their needs. Patients are not left waiting when in need of attention. The quality of food is excellent. The residents really feel at home here and happy. My father feels settled here and this gives me peace of mind.

I have recently had to take my husband to the hospital twice and the carer who came with us went beyond her duties and even went into the theatre with him. The staff on the unit are kind and considerate from the cleaners to the nurses. The new management are also helpful and informative.
