Gilmerton Care Home

All care, maintenance and catering staff and management and administration give excellent care, service and attention to all residents.

My mum was admitted with Alzheimer's. On the visit to the care home, I knew this was where I would like her placed. The care my mum has received has been amazing. She always looks well-dressed and fresh. I knew she was quite difficult when first admitted, but the staff were always on hand to look after her and reassure her when she was anxious. The care she has received is second to none, and couldn't recommend the care home highly enough to anyone in a situation where they need to place a loved one.

My mother was admitted to the home after five and a half years in an NHS hospital. She has come on in leaps and bounds since her admission. Her appearance and cleanliness have improved tenfold. All of the above is accredited to the dedication of the staff.

My mother received fantastic care at Gilmerton Care Home. The staff were kind and caring. She was happy and contented while there. I am grateful to the staff for their commitment.

My mum is happy and contented. The staff are wonderful with her. She loves her room. My sister likes visiting here. The staff make us feel so welcome.

Only visit once a week - everything seems satisfactory.

My mother has been in Gilmerton Care Home for two years. Her health has deteriorated over this time. I have been kept well informed at every stage. I know Mum is safe and well looked after by the excellent staff, who are very friendly and caring towards Mum and other residents. This gives the family peace of mind.

On Saturday the 6th of August, my two daughters and I visited my wife for her birthday. The carers had the room all decorated with banners and flags. The four carers came into my wife's room carrying doughnuts, cakes, nibbles etc. Four cups of tea for us, signing happy birthday - the delight on my wife's face was magical. The staff are excellent, can't do enough for my wife and us. The photo on Gilmerton has the phrase 'Our Helen', which I thought was brilliant - she is one of the family. Brilliant home.

She is being well looked after by very friendly and well-trained staff.

Thank you to all the staff at Gilmerton Care Home for providing the care that my mother now needs. She struggled at home on her own for as long as she could and it is a relief to now know that she is being well looked after. I find the staff are careful, considerate and kind, patient with repeated requests and they always do their best to listen and engage with the residents.

We went to see my mother here after her spending four months in hospital, where she was very low. We found a fantastic difference in her, she was so happy and we could see she was being very well cared for.

I am of the opinion that my sister has been extremely lucky to have been allocated to Gilmerton Care Home. The entire staff are very professional in carrying out their duties. Their skills are of the highest order. I personally have every confidence in their ability to look after my sister and all residents in their care.

The staff at Gilmerton Care Home are amazing. Lovely people. My wife could not have had better care from the staff. Lovely people. The staff at reception were just great, Four Seasons Health Care is so lucky to have such wonderful people managed by a lovely manager.

My grandmother has received excellent care at Gilmerton Care Home for more than 17 years! She is so well taken care of, the nursing staff are fabulous and they know who I am and are so friendly, they always go above and beyond. It's such a comfort to know it's the same people caring for her, the staff have remained the same for years which must be a very good sign - as you don't stay where you're not happy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this facility and all of the staff.

I cannot thank the staff in mum's nursing home enough for the superb care and attention she has received over the past 18 years. She will be 95 years old tomorrow and has celebrated her 80th and 90th Birthdays with staff and family. She is so well cared for and the staff makes me feel so welcome and are so accommodating when I visit. My mum has Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia, so she needs lots of personal care. Thank you so much.

Great care home, very friendly. Staff all look after you and my husband. They're all my second family. Meals are very tasty.

Excellent care. I worried about my dad settling, however, the care and attention they gave him is second to none. Absolutely brilliant.
