Overall Experience

My mother has recently come to Gilmerton Care home and my sister and I's fears have been greatly relieved. Couldn't have asked for a more smooth and welcoming transfer from hospital after looking after her ourselves for the last 8 years as we were both in the profession. All the staff have been so good and my mother has settled in so well, thanks to all their care and attention. So far so good.

Overall Experience

My Mum was as a resident of Eden Ward for just over a year before she died at the age of 91 and I was so pleased with all the care she received. All the staff were kind, courteous and obviously interested in the residents. I never saw anyone without a smile on their face even though times could get busy. All the residents were settled and happy and looked as if they were in a good place in their minds. I couldn’t recommend Gilmerton Care Home enough and have done to a few people.

Overall Experience

I can only speak of the Eden wing as my husband was there from Sept 2016 until his death on 31st Dec 2017. The staff were extremely good, they catered for all his needs. They made me and my family feel very welcome. They treated the residents with respect. I have visited several care homes and was a bit worried about him going into care, but found this one to be as homely as a care home can be with comfortable rooms, and having small units, making it easy to get to know everyone and all the staff. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff in the Eden wing.
