My father came into Knowle Gate Care Home for respite care after a spell in hospital. He is 93 and has received such wonderful care and attention from all the staff involved with him. The food there is very varied and served like in a hotel. Lovely clean rooms and different lounges to sit in make this

My Dad arrived in the organised chaos of Christmas celebrations! We received a warm welcome from the staff.
Knowle Gate is a lovely environment. The staff are extremely caring and provide excellent care. My Dad’s room has a great view over the playing fields and he likes to watch the matches and the
planes arriving/departing from Birmingham airport.
There’s a wide range of activities planned each week ranging from singing to dominoes.

With all the choices available in the Birmingham South area, we were massively impressed with 'Knowle Gate' from the very start. The staff are so very friendly and supportive and made the transition for the move for our family member into the home so easy, we were left utterly amazed.
So far, our
family member is being very well supported and cared for, whilst he settles in. Everything that could be done or anything that we have requested has been done, the result being that we are very comfortable knowing that our family member is being looked after to a very high degree, for which we are very grateful.

His move into care, loss of independence and latterly continence, was sudden and hard for my father. This does not always seem to be appreciated by all of the staff, who although generally efficient and caring, sometimes don't seem to appreciate his need for such normality as he can still manage; such
as choosing his own clothes or moving from bed to seat to wheelchair to outside space. He seems rarely encouraged into daily activities but seems largely confined to his room. I understood that assisted bathing was available, but this seems never to have been offered - only seated showering. I understand that the doctor now says he needs the winch to move him, yet he tells me this is not happening. I know he is very hard of hearing and can seem difficult. Also that he is unused to care home culture and the range of cultures represented by the staff. I assure you that their efforts to accommodate this are appreciated by me. I also appreciate that they might be understaffed and stretched in their workload. However, I do feel more could be done to address his needs.

Since my sister has been in Knowle Gate, we have noticed a distinct increase in her demeanour and she is always smiling and very happy. She always greets you with a smile and tells us she loves us and thanks us for coming.

I have found all the staff at Knowle Gate Care Home to be professional and supportive at all times during the recent decision by my much loved godfather and myself to plan the next phase of his care. From the staff member organising his admission and initial paperwork. the three ladies who always welcome
me when visiting, and the team of nurses and carers. I feel confident that he is getting the best care and that I am included and consulted every step of the way. Knowle Gate has a 'family' feel and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone looking for quality care.

Today my mum turned 94. Her birthday happened to coincide with a cheese and wine evening that the care home had organised.
Because of it being Mum's birthday and because we are a large family we had put down rather a lot of names to attend the event. As a result, we were offered a lounge room to ourselves
to celebrate with cheese and wine, beautifully laid out for us all. The staff, two members in particular, could not have been more helpful. Mum, and indeed all of us, had the most wonderful time.
We can't thank you enough for your thoughtfulness and kindness.

My husband receives very good care overall. Issues that arise are dealt with by the staff, so no need to comment on them.
I do have concerns about the lack of entertainment as I visit at various times of the day and usually find my husband in the lounge with the television on but no other companionship
- apart from other residents. Apparently, there is entertainment and I have attended parties/events but feel that most activities are geared towards the residential residents.

Knowle Gate is a wonderful residential home. The staff are excellent from reception, kitchen team, housekeeping and carers. The entertainment team work very hard and are always cheerful. I think my mother has the best care possible, and we are very grateful to everyone. Two members of staff do a wonderful

Hello, my name is Victoria I am the Home Manager here at Knowle Gate.


I have such a varied role here from overseeing the general day-to-day activities to popping to the shop to buy the fabulous staff here treats.


I bring 22 years of care experience, where I started as a Care Assistant and progressed onto Home Management. I have now got 8 years of management experience.


My door is always open if anybody needs me and it's always nice chatting to family and visitors as they arrive.

Hi, my name is Sabina and I am the Deputy Home Manager at Knowle Gate. I first joined Knowle Gate in 2020 as a Care Assistant. I now have 8 years total care experience which is reflected in my work. My role is varied here at Knowle Gate. - one minute I can be assisting on the floors, and the next I can be hosting meetings with family members or staff.


I love what I do, and my door is always open if anybody needs to have a chat.

Hello, my name is Courtney and I am in charge of the sales and marketing here at Knowle Gate. I also bring the community together by arranging events inside and outside the home to bring everybody together.


I love being able to help residents and their families during a time of need, by providing the best level of customer service during a time where they are all entering a new chapter of their lives together.


I feel very fulfilled in my role and I love making a difference to peoples lives.


In my spare time, I love to read fiction and spend time with my friends and family.

Hi, my name is Manpreet and I am the head housekeeper at Knowle Gate. I ensure that our wonderful home stays clean and tidy and I also manage our laundry. I love being able to make our residents feel comfortable in their environment and I am always happy to go the extra mile for our residents.


I have been at Knowle Gate since 2017 when I started as a Laundry Assistant. Now, as Head Housekeeper I am so proud of my team for what we accomplish every day.


In my spare time, I am a mother and I love spending time with my family.

Hello, I am Damian and I am the Head Chef at Knowle Gate. I run the kitchen where all of our resident's tasty and nutritious food is prepared and cooked. I love being able to tailor my dishes to our residents needs - whether that is during meal times, or private dining.


I joined Knowle Gate in 2023 and I have got 13 years of chef experience. In my spare time I like to play the piano.
