My sister and I would like to place on record our sincere and most grateful thanks to all the staff at Knowle Gate Care Home for the most wonderful care given to our mother during her last weeks. Your efforts made it possible for her to be so comfortable during very dark days, and your efforts to allow us access to see her to the very end was so much appreciated. Thank you.

My father had dementia and was a resident at Knowle Gate for eight months prior to his death. I wanted to express our family's sincere thanks to all the staff who looked after him. The overall standards of the care home were excellent, but what was particularly striking was that so many of the staff don't just turn up and do their jobs, they show genuine empathy and concern for the residents. This creates a caring atmosphere, and was particularly noticeable during his final illness, which gave us so much comfort at a difficult and emotional time.

We transferred my Father-in-law from another Care Home. The team at Knowle Gate were really well coordinated and provided support, guidance and help for a smooth transition into his new surroundings. A great effort from the Care staff and a huge relief for the family. Well done.

I came to visit a family friend over the festive period. On entering the home the staff were friendly and in the Christmas spirit which was lovely to see. The home had a great ambience, was very clean and smelt lovely. The staff was very friendly whom I came in contact with. Everyone seemed to enjoy their job roles and had great enthusiasm. The feeling was like home from home. It made the whole experience very refreshing, especially as it was my first time entering any care home. So thank you all and keep up the good work.

Mum was among the first residents of Knowle Gate when it opened, until she died in October 2018. Throughout her time there, she was contented and well cared for, despite changes in management causing difficulties with the running of the home in 2017. Of late the home has improved greatly and there is a super team of dedicated, thoughtful and compassionate staff, including excellent nurses, some who have been at Knowle Gate since it opened. I only fully appreciated what a good home this is the week when Mum lay dying. The care she received during her final days was truly outstanding, and the compassion shown to us, her family, helped enormously at a very difficult time. We also for the first time got a sense of how the nursing floor works around the clock as we sat at Mum's bedside. Day and night the atmosphere was calm, kind, respectful and well-organised, the staff attending to residents with good humour and understanding. We can't thank the team at Knowle Gate enough.

My mother received excellent care in the four months she lived at Knowle Gate. The staff, especially the day ones, were very attentive and engaged well with Mum. Her only complaint was about the food which she found to be cold and tasteless at times. However we were all very happy with the help and support we all received.

I visited my aunt (18/8) and there was a summer bbq/fete taking place and it was truly amazing! Never have I seen so many elderly people smiling singing and dancing. There was a professional singer singing all of the old classic songs, residents were having a sing-song, all staff were making sure everyone was included and having a nice time. There were even donkeys on site which they were walking around for people to stroke and speak to. My aunt had a ball and is still talking about it now. She is always truly looked after at Knowle Gate, I never worry about her because it’s like leaving her with family when I leave. she’s not only cared for medically and physically, she’s loved and cared for mentally and emotionally too. I was worried about my aunt going into

A home but not anymore. I couldn’t rate this home higher, such committed amazing staff who truly care.

Dad has settled in well to Knowle Gate and we cannot fault the standard of care given by all the staff.

He has received kind, compassionate care and built up a lovely relationship with many of the staff who always treat him with dignity and respect. He feels happy and safe there and enjoys some of the activities including singing and dancing.

He is enjoying some excellent meals and as he has a very sweet tooth is being spoilt by endless supplies of cakes, chocolate etc. During the hot weather, it has been wonderful to see all the residents enjoying ice lollies too.

We thoroughly recommend this care home, the building and facilities are excellent. The cinema was also put to good use for the World Cup matches.

My mother had been a resident of Knowle Gate Care Home for 2 years when she passed away a couple of weeks ago. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and love given to mum in the last few months of her life. The carers and nurses treated her with love, understanding and maintaining her dignity throughout. This care was not just limited to the care staff but extended to the entire workforce. The staff had become mum’s extended family and in her last few days, their care was extended to me and my family. As a recently retired nurse, I expected a high standard of care. I can honestly say that the care staff always give their best at delivering that high standard of care. Thank you to everyone for caring for mum so beautifully.

The staff, especially the management team, were very helpful with Mum when she had a few difficulties, as were the receptionists. They all helped Mum to settle more and some of the carers built up a great rapport/relationship with Mum. Mum really enjoyed the food and was encouraged to join in the activities that were on offer. Thanks for helping Mum.

This review is about the care my father received. He was suffering from heart failure and it was impossible for us to look after him at home. Knowle Gate had spaces available and hence we investigated the feasibility of them caring for him. The facilities were good and the staff seemed happy.
When he moved in he was greeted by two members of staff at the door. They made him feel very welcome. He was very nervous about moving in and leaving his beloved bungalow. His entire stay was less than a week but during that time he commented about the great care that he was receiving as his body was failing. He was determined to make Knowle Gate his home. We moved in his TV, favourite armchair and other familiar things. His room felt very familiar. We all visited him and were welcomed by the staff.

I cannot say a bad word against the care he received. It is always sad when the end comes but I feel that we could not have done more for him and the Knowle Gate care home was a part of that.

Wife died 15/9/16. Impressed with staff who took the time to ascertain my wife's difficulties and they were dealt with promptly. Basically excellent.
Still needs some polishing, which is hardly surprising, since the home is less than one tear old.

The staff are responsive to constructive criticism and are understanding of the relative's natural anxieties.

Even though my uncle was a resident for only a few weeks before he died, we were able to get a good picture of the home and its standards. The home is a lovely, bright, clean and modern environment. The staff all seemed totally engaged with the patients in their care and were warm and welcoming to us a visitors. The management are efficient and quick to respond. The menus certainly looked very varied, healthy and scrumptious. The patient rooms, ensuites and public rooms are all first class. We witnessed a group taking part in an activity session which looked to be well led and engaging. We would whole heartedly recommend this home.

My mother spent her final months at Gracewell of Knowle Gate when suffering from pulmonary fibrosis. Her health was extremely poor but she received wonderful care and attention from all of the staff who showed truly outstanding professionalism and empathy. It was, and remains, a great source of comfort to her family to know that she received the very best care she could possibly have received. Not only were the nursing staff and carers excellent but everyone at Gracewell was really kind, considerate and patient including the cleaning, catering and reception staff.
