A very well run Care Home where my Mother has settled in happily, having been there over 12 months now.
She enjoys the home cooked food and the staff are very friendly and caring to all residents.
Staffing levels are very good and the team keep me fully updated promptly on any important matters relating to my Mother's care.
The team have daily activities with a diverse range of interest including singing, crafts, exercising, church services, bingo and much more!

Hawkinge House is a credit to the management team and all the devoted staff there.

I want to send my sincere thanks for the outstanding care provided by the team in Short Term Care 2nd Floor North for looking after my Auntie Rosalind so very well. From start to finish the care, support, food, cleanliness, activities and kindness that my auntie received have been just excellent. Nothing has been too much trouble for anyone and any challenges that happened along the way were resolved swiftly and carefully. Both I and my auntie have been genuinely impressed with the experience you provide residents as Hawkinge House, and we are both very grateful for everything you have done. Everyone works so hard and is so very kind. Thank you for everything.

I cannot thank everyone at Hawkinge House Care Home enough for the outstanding care they provide to my grandad, Gordon. Knowing he is being looked after by such a caring, compassionate, and professional team gives our family great comfort and peace of mind.
Every day, I leave the care home feeling reassured and confident that my grandad is safe, happy, and receiving the very best care. The staff go above and beyond to ensure his wellbeing, dignity, and comfort are always their top priority.
I would also like to give a special thank you to Charlotte and Diane in the office. They always make time for us as a family, no matter how busy they are, and consistently do their very best to reassure us regarding my grandad's welfare and safety during what has been a very difficult time. Their kindness, understanding, and support mean so much to us.

Hawkinge House is a wonderful care home with a dedicated team who genuinely care about their residents and families. I would 100% recommend

The facilities are very good, it is a well desinged building. However, what matters is the quality of care and staff. I believe the staff are quite wonderful, demonstrating genuine dedication to their job, showing great care for my brother, respecting his dignity and treating him as an individual. It has been a great relief to have him in such a place for his respite care period. I would recommend it to anyone who can afford such care. In particular, carer Milan has been exceptional.

I have been coming here for nearly three years and have no complaints/concerns about the care given to my sister every day. She is treated like she was their relative, and I think of them as my HH family. If it was not for the care given to her, my sister would no longer be alive, and I mean this.

So far Mums care has been good. All staff friendly and accommodating and happy to support with any query that we have as a family.
Well briefed with changes or adjustments to Mums care & always responsive to questions or worries we have about anything no matter how small.
Always a happy cheery environment and genuine care shown to the residents.

Mum is still a resident but in a different room now so can only hope the good care continues.

Hawkinge House Long Term Care has been a home away from home for my sister. The facility is spacious, clean and welcoming. Both the management team and staff are pleasant, caring and professional. I appreciate the excellent care offered by Hawkinge House Long Term Care.

My sister has been a resident since December 2025 to present day.
I want to write and compliment the chef and catering department on the variety and good food. She loves fresh fruit salad and has a bowl daily.
She needs good nutrition to aid her condition and to see her excited to have her meals and eat them with relish, just shows how good the food has been.
Thank you.

The only negative I have for this care home would be the administrative team that booked the ambulance for my sister, they made many errors, which caused lots of unnecessary stress for my sister and for our family.

Mum has now been at Hawkinge for a year and the care she has received from all the staff originally in PAU and now on second floor has been amazing. The individual attention that residents receive is truly outstanding. I've seen staff take the time to sit and hold someone's hand to reassure them, laugh and joke with residents and treat them with dignity and respect at all times.
The atmosphere at Christmas was lovely with all the staff dressed in festive jumpers and a beautifully decorated table ready for lunch which itself looked delicious!
Mum recently celebrated her birthday and we arrived just in time to celebrate with the staff who provided cake, a card and a present! It was a really lovely gesture and made the day special for mum.

It's been a really tough year for us as a family but knowing that mum is safe and well cared for has made all the difference.

I started my journey in adult care in 2004 when I joined the industry as a care worker in the community, previous to this I had managed a dental practice but felt that a career in Social Care would be more rewarding. Since that time, I have worked my way through the industry to become an Operations Director, and then, finally, in June 2020, I joined Hawkinge House PAU as the Registered Manager of the brand-new service. Hawkinge House PAU is an assessment unit for patients that are leaving an acute hospital setting and require a period of assessment to establish their longer-term care needs. I am passionate about giving the best possible care to every patient that comes through our doors, regardless of their situation. It is always my aim to ensure that every patient who comes through the PAU feels heard and safe. I am supported by an amazing team that has a wealth of experience in the industry and shares the same goals and aspirations for the care that we deliver that I do.

It’s been nearly 8 years since I started working here at Hawkinge House. I began my journey as a Registered Nurse, and today, standing as one of the Deputy Managers of the home, I feel both proud and grateful. Being able to care for people every single day has shaped me not just professionally, but personally as well.

Working in care has taught me the true meaning of compassion, patience, and responsibility. Every resident carries a story, and being trusted to support them through some of their most vulnerable moments is a privilege I never take for granted. The challenges have been many, but the rewards- seeing a smile, providing comfort, and making someone feel heard- have always outweighed them.

This field has helped me grow into a stronger person, and I am honoured to be part of a team that makes a real difference in people’s lives. I look forward to continuing this journey and contributing to the quality of care our residents deserve.
