Good food, friendly people. Good facilities. My relative looks very well. We haven't seen her since before COVID, but we have noticed a big improvement.

I moved my mum into Kingfisher Court from a previous care home in July, she has dementia and had no mobility, due to it being easier to move her by wheelchair everywhere, so Kingfisher Court was having to use a hoist to move my mum as she could not stand or take her own weight. To my amazement within 1 week, she has now got her mobility back and is walking with her walker. The staff have been amazing in what they have achieved in such a short time. They are so caring and committed. The best move I have made for my mum. It is such a lovely care home, just like staying in a hotel, with lovely food, a lovely atmosphere, great activities for the residents and nothing is to much trouble. They keep you updated on everything that is going on. The home is amazing. The staff go above and beyond to make sure they enjoy their life, and to top it off we have moved my mother-in-law in and she absolutely loves it.

My mum is leaving this morning with mixed emotions - she has missed her home but has had a lovely time here. She's made new friends and thoroughly enjoyed her food and activities. All the team have been really kind and supportive and we all know, with confidence, that her next visit will be just as happy. Thank you very much.

My nana moved into the care home just before the pandemic in 2020, which was extremely tough as she is a very independent (opinionated!) woman and it was very confusing for her. At all times, there was great communication to try to keep as in touch as we possibly could including phone calls, face times, window visits and an outdoor concert! The staff are absolutely lovely and nothing is too much of an effort. They keep all the residents entertained with games, Rodney the rabbit and regular trips. We have regular check-ins with my nana's key worker and the staff will always fill us in on what they've been up to when we visit. All of our family really appreciate the help and support we have received from the home since my nana has gone to stay with them, it really is a lovely atmosphere, a great community with lovely people. She has made friends with both fellow residents and staff. Big shout out to one member of staff, in particular for putting up with my nana following (bossing) him around all day!

Reply from Sally Tebbett, Home Manager at Kingfisher Court

What an amazing review, the kind words received from our resident's families always make us smile. We are delighted that you are happy with the care we provide and I think that I can safely say that the team member mentioned is very happy to be followed (bossed) around by your nana, he wouldn't have it any other way.

I moved my mum into Kingfisher Court in February 2020 just before covid lockdown. My mum said she would not go into a care home but with dementia had no choice. From day one the staff really took the time to get to know my mum and her ways. My mum was a woman that never joined in or had friends but she found a lot of friends amongst the care team at Kingfisher Court and joined in with flower arranging, dominoes, singalongs, bingo and games. My mum passed away on the 8th May after suffering an enormous stroke 2 weeks before and having pneumonia. The end of life care she received was amazing. I went in to visit to see a member of staff kissing her. She kept saying kiss me to them. Another time one of the carers led on the bed with her when she wanted comforting. When my mum passed, there were 6 staff members in the room with her. If you are looking for 5* accommodation and care for your loved one, you will not get any care facility better than Kingfisher Court. On behalf of my mum, I can honestly say they are 'simply the best'

When selecting a care home for some respite for my mum, we were really impressed with the facilities, cleanliness and staff at Kingfisher Court. I had some really helpful conversations with the manager about Mum's needs and she was really helpful in organising Mum's respite stay. The home itself is fabulous, spotlessly clean and everyone made Mum welcome as soon as she arrived. Mum's room was well furnished and having her own en-suite bathroom with a shower seat was ideal for her needs. The food, entertainment and activities were first class, Mum was encouraged to join in as much as possible. She settled in really well, made friends with some of the residents and loved all the carers. All the staff are lovely and genuinely interested in their job and the well-being of all the residents. I would certainly recommend anyone to visit Kingfisher Court if they are looking for full time or respite care.

My mum needed to go into full-time care and having spent over two hours visiting the home, I knew it was the right place. The staff were fantastic, showing me around and explaining the care package that would be put in place for Mum. The home itself is fabulous, spotlessly clean and everyone makes me welcome when I visit and will always answer any questions. The entertainment and activities provided are first class and Mum is enjoying these and has already made some new friends and loves the carers. Mum's room is furnished lovely and having her own en-suite bathroom was a massive plus. I would certainly recommend, in fact encourage anyone to go to Kingfisher Court if they are looking for full time or respite care. The peace of mind this has given the family, knowing Mum is being so well looked after and settling in really well is priceless.

My mum had some much-needed respite care for two weeks in December 2021. Kingfisher Court Care Home was recommended to the family so we made the call. From the moment the call was received to the moment Mum came out of Kingfisher, she/we received five-star treatment. The decision wasn't an easy one to make (naturally) but the staff at Kingfisher embraced Mum's needs in a very caring, sensitive and hands-on/pragmatic way. Mum's mobility was zero when she went into Kingfisher - transported door to door in a wheelchair. After two weeks of tender loving care, she came out walking! The cooks in the kitchen also worked with a dietician which helped with Mum's particular needs and that all worked well. I found the application process extremely thorough which made us all feel comforted, knowing that she was going to be treated so well. Covid compliance was of the highest standard and we felt very safe. All the staff are so lovely and genuinely interested in their job and have a passion for eldercare.

I can see my mum is being well cared for at Kingfisher Court both in how she looks and the clean and friendly atmosphere in the home. All staff are working as a team to provide the kind of care anyone would want for their mother. By now my mum needs everything doing for her and I know the staff are kind and professional in the way they deliver her care. There is no doubt that my brother and I could not look after her without everyone at Kingfisher Court. As well as all of this, the social team engage her in activities which is a real benefit.

My mum joined Kingfisher a couple of months ago and has settled in very well. Everyone is so welcoming and always have time to put my mind at rest when I ring to see if my mum is OK. It was heartbreaking at first for her and the family but I saw her today and she's happy. Kingfisher Court is a lovely home. Thank you for looking after Mum.

Amazing care home. With broken hearts, we made the hard decision to transfer Mum to 24 hour care. On her day of admission, the care home was again forced due to Covid to take the necessary steps and lockdown the home to protect all their residents and staff, this was extremely hard for our family but more importantly for our mum, as she was entering a totally new environment and with people she had never met, but from day one we knew she was in safe, caring hands and would be treated with respect and dignity at all times. The manager and her team have been absolutely fabulous, nothing is too much trouble and issues/questions are dealt with promptly and always with a smile. Due to Mum's stroke, she has very limited speech and is totally immobile but the team have worked with our family to understand just exactly what Mum's limited communication means, they have built on this and developed a lovely relationship. Kingfisher Court is now our mum's new home. Thank you team.

My dad joined Kingfisher Court four months ago and he has settled in so well. All of the staff are so warm and welcoming and always happy to chat to me and put my mind at ease over the telephone. This whole Covid-19 situation has been very alarming for people who have relatives in care. I could not be happier with the way in which Kingfisher Court has responded to the crisis. They locked down the home and stopped all unnecessary visits very early on in the crisis. Although this means I can't see my Mum they put in place video calls and have tried to keep the stimulation levels up for their residents. I have called the home a couple of times and they have been very responsive to my Mums needs. Keeping my Mum safe is the most important thing to me and I have no concerns about the way that Kingfisher Court has responded.

I am passionate about working in care and have always considered myself to be a people person. It is a huge privilege to work with others and to know that I am the driving force behind a service where all people matter. I consider myself to be a kind and empathetic person who is a good listener at all levels.

I have worked in care for a long time, and there are many reasons for this. I love the fact that the smallest of gestures mean the most to others, and if, during the course of my working day I can make others feel valued and genuinely cared for, then I know that I am making a difference to someone’s life. Caring for others is the most rewarding career to have.

An integral part of my role is to forge strong relationships with residents and their families and friends, their input will be fundamental to the quality of the service at Kingfisher Court. I enjoy supporting and developing my staff team to deliver the highest standard of care. I take pride in providing outstanding care to my residents, and having a good team who share the same values is vital to achieving this goal.

I am a perfectionist who enjoys the attention to detail that comes with this job, I like to focus on the standards of attainment required to hold the position that I love.

My door will always be open, I am responsive and ready to help in any way that I can. I both encourage and welcome any feedback that will help us to shape the future of the home.

I enjoy working with people, supporting them, and encouraging them, leading a happy, fulfilled team! I love getting to know the residents that I support, hearing their stories and learning about their lives, and delivering hands-on care, that enables me to develop a person-centred approach.

I haven’t been here at Kingfisher long, but I have a good feeling about the home, it is such a warm, welcoming, happy place to be. I’m sure that I will fit in well here, I work well under pressure and love having an open door to enable both the residents and their families and me to develop a close professional relationship based on honesty and trust. I feel very fortunate to have been given this opportunity and I am grateful for the warm welcome that I have received.
