My Mum was the second resident to move into Oak Hall in November 2018. The permanent staff are the key feature of its success, many of whom have been there from the beginning. They genuinely care for the residents and understand their differing needs. They have been outstanding during the pandemic, and whilst we haven't been able to visit, they have arranged calls over skype and Facetime in order to keep in touch. It has been challenging for all but the regular staff have gone above and beyond what has been expected of them. Thank you to you all.
I totally agree permanent staff are definitely key. We are in the middle of a recruitment drive and have several lovely new staff.
My mother has been at Oak Hall for a little over 2 years since it first opened. In that time, my mother has been extremely well cared for. The team at Oak Hall are loving, caring and totally committed to the care they give. In what has been such a difficult year for both residents and carers, they have at all times been professional but more importantly have shown love and understanding for the times we have found ourselves in. They should all feel very proud.
I am so pleased that the staff show their love of people. We truly have a fantastic team.
The care my father has received since he was admitted to Oak Hall in February 2019, is second to none. The kindness, tenderness, positivity, sympathy and empathy towards him has been incredible. Given the present restrictions everyone is living under, not helped by staff shortages due to Covid, the team have performed brilliantly.
Thank you, Amanda. It is so nice to receive positive feedback for the staff. They all work so incredibly hard and this has been a really tough year for everyone.
Friendly staff doing a very challenging job in difficult circumstances. They seem to understand my father's needs and try their best to give him what he wants. He has his ways and they seem to understand and he is treated with respect.
Thank you for your feedback. It is so important to show respect for people, especially from Dad's generation. We all have our little ways but it's nice to know staff understand your Dad.
Oak Hall is a very special place and I recommend it highly. The staff are lovely and very caring to my mother who sadly suffers from Dementia and Parkinsons, but they do everything to try to keep her engaged and comfortable. Her room is lovely and is kept very clean and tidy as are all areas of the home. She eats well and looks in the most perfect health, the staff take care to dress her well and even paint her nails! My mother has been in the home since October 2019 and prior to lockdown, we all enjoyed our visits to see her, since March and COVID-19 the staff have tried their best to keep us engaged and we were able to visit when her health suffered. Interaction with her remotely is difficult because of her dementia, but the staff do try with Skype calls. Communication with Oak Hall is good with a regular newsletter and access to both care and medical staff.
My mother has been in Oak Hall since Autumn 2019, she has acute health issues and is bed bound. The management and carers at Oak Hall provide excellent care and attention for mum, she is very happy there - she regularly tells me: "They look after me so well here - I am in the best place; I am safe".
My mother has been cared for at Oak Hall since October 2019. I have always been impressed by the kindness and caring of staff and the approachability of managers. This last month has been particularly worrying as my mother has had Covid and as an only child, I have had to entrust all care to the staff without being able to visit my very frail mother. I cannot speak too highly of the support I have received and my mother has recovered due to the care she has received. During all the challenges of lockdown in 2020 where it was possible to visit our loved ones, we were enabled to do so and were being regularly Covid tested from very early on. We have always been welcomed as family and were able to visit frequently and often until Lockdown prevented it. I look forward to being able to visit again as soon as it is possible. Staff have become part of our lives and that support has been so much appreciated. It is a difficult step placing loved ones into care but Oak Hall has made it much easier. Thank you.
Thank you for such a lovely review. Communication is so important to ensure you are aware of what is happening in the home.
We felt blessed when we found Oak Hall for Dad. A fantastic facility with caring, attentive staff. Lovely ensuite rooms and great communal facilities - all in a peaceful and beautiful location. Every resident is treated as an individual and all the staff, no matter what their role, have time for a chat. Resident’s safety and dignity is of paramount importance to this team. Plus they also have time for family members and they always make us feel welcome. I have recommended Oak Hall to several friends already and would not hesitate to recommend it again. This team have worked tirelessly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to keep everyone safe whilst helping us stay in touch with Dad. You may not have heard of it - it only opened in November 2018 but I cannot recommend Oak Hall and its exceptional staff more highly.
Coronavirus has prevented visiting since March 2020. We have been unable to interact with her since this time to check how she feels but she was resident in the home a number of months previous to this time and has always mentioned how good the staff were when we visited.
I would recommend the nursing home.
Sometimes it's difficult for my mum to understand people's different jobs and uniforms especially when she first arrived - the 'portraits' in the porch are very helpful for this - perhaps a folder of these could be available, something which explains different uniforms?
Premises and grounds beautiful.
Attentive to my mother’s needs that are significant. They do a great job in looking after my stroke disabled mother. All have a happy disposition.
Oak Hall is a beautiful old building in it's own right and set in lovely grounds. The facilities are excellent, for residents and visitors, restricted at the moment of course. If you are considering somewhere for your loved one, look no further!
I had no personal experience of care facilities in south-west Surrey but after two emergency visits to Frimley Park Hospital and a further two visits to Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford, suffering from acute right-limb ischemia with repeated heart palpitation problems, I felt in need of respite care of some sort. With the help of my daughter and husband, we settled on Oak Hall Nursing Home in Hazelmere. It was close to my home and after a welcoming call, we were invited to pay a visit to see if it suited me and I was shown three rooms and I selected one with a delightful view from the bedroom window. I left hospital on 29th August and went straight to Oak Hall and immediately felt at ease with the staff, other patients and the building itself. I left on 13th September feeling so much stronger and relaxed. My husband and I will keep in touch with Oak Hall and intend to lunch occasionally in their pleasant Bistro.
All the staff at Oak Hall nursing Home are lovely and kind. They all do their jobs with compassion and warmth. My Mother is happy and content here. I wouldn't think twice about recommending Oak Hall to the point they shouldn't look elsewhere.
My mother moved from her previous care home to Oak Hall and has settled in very quickly. She is receiving excellent care in a recently opened home. The staff are friendly and caring, treating Mum with dignity and kindness. She is largely bed bound so unable to take advantage of the activities on offer but the staff do include her when possible.
Thank you for the kind and attentive care I received at Oak Hall when I stayed for 4 weeks last month. Bearing in mind that Oak Hall Nursing Home was only in its third week of opening I was so impressed by the way I was looked after and how willing everyone was to make my stay as comfortable and healing as possible. Thank you again. I have no hesitation in recommending Oak Hall Nursing Home.
Loving and genuine care provided in a professional and compassionate way. Nothing was too much trouble and my family will be forever grateful to Oak Hall. Thank you to all the amazing staff.
