Oak Hall in Haslemere, Surrey, opened its doors to new residents in November 2018, following an extensive refurbishment. It offers luxurious surroundings for 55 residents, all of whom enjoy their own en-suite rooms. Some of the rooms can accommodate couples.

In keeping with other homes within the group, Oak Hall will deliver exceptional levels of care in convivial surroundings. Restaurant-style dining is a key feature, alongside a dedicated Health and wellness team who will be running a wide range of well being activities to keep residents active in mind body and soul.

Oak Hall will offer a range of care options: residential, convalescent, respite and specialist palliative care are all available, each with the aim of providing dignity and respect through programmes tailored to the needs of the individual.

Oak Hall lives up to its name with a large oak-panelled entrance hall; oak staircase and balustrading with many further oak features throughout the building. The original interiors of the principal rooms remain little altered: marquetry inlay to some floors, plastered ceilings, stone and marble fireplaces, marble floors, heraldic stained glass and tiled bathrooms.

My grandmother sadly passed away at Oak Hall Care Home after just 12 days of arriving from a long stay in hospital following a stroke. Due to Covid restrictions/an isolation period, we, unfortunately, weren't able to see her until her final day. The staff my family and I encountered on that sad day
were absolutely wonderful and we couldn't have asked for lovelier people to look after her (and us!). It's such a shame we didn't get to know everyone a bit better but our overall impression of Oak Hall is a positive one.

Mum was discharged to Oak Hall Care Home following three long months in hospital. Mum received so much respect, empathy and good personal care from all the different member's of staff from all departments during her 9-weeks at Oak Hall. My mum was restricted by her debilitating health issues, so was
confined mostly to her bed/room, but the staff always made her days a bit brighter and loved to listen to her chat. She received good palliative care, and we were so pleased we were able to visit her within the current restrictions. Sadly she died, but she received the best care we could have wished for and with dignity and love till the end.

My grandmother visited Oak Hall for a month for emergency respite after an unexpected operation. The whole team made Grandma so welcome and comfortable. We were extremely impressed by all the staff, and nothing was too much of a problem for them to resolve. The care home itself is a beautiful, highly
maintained building in the most beautiful grounds. I cannot recommend Oak Hall enough.

My parents moved into Oak Hall in September 2020 following a significant decline in their health. My mother died shortly afterwards. Her end-of-life care was exemplary. My siblings and I were allowed to visit her in the week leading up to her death. She was nursed in a calm, sunlit room with my father
with her all the time. Both my father and brother were with her when she died. We could not have asked for a better end to her life. My father remained at Oak Hall until he died suddenly following a short illness in January. The carers and nursing staff have been consistently incredibly caring under very difficult circumstances. They did all they could to facilitate family visits and Skype or Facetime calls. The rooms are really homely and the view onto the garden and beyond made it a really lovely place for our parents to be. Oak Hall has a real atmosphere of being very well run. My brother, sisters and I would very highly recommend Oak Hall.

Despite all the Covid protocols and restrictions they are having to work with, the staff at Oak Hall have maintained the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. There is an easy rapport with the staff you see on a regular basis and smiles and greetings from those you don't.
As he is not able to be with us, it is a great comfort to his family to know that dad is being cared for by a highly professional and passionate family at Oak Hall.

My Mum was the second resident to move into Oak Hall in November 2018. The permanent staff are the key feature of its success, many of whom have been there from the beginning. They genuinely care for the residents and understand their differing needs. They have been outstanding during the pandemic,
and whilst we haven't been able to visit, they have arranged calls over skype and Facetime in order to keep in touch. It has been challenging for all but the regular staff have gone above and beyond what has been expected of them. Thank you to you all.

The care my father has received since he was admitted to Oak Hall in February 2019, is second to none. The kindness, tenderness, positivity, sympathy and empathy towards him has been incredible. Given the present restrictions everyone is living under, not helped by staff shortages due to Covid, the

Friendly staff doing a very challenging job in difficult circumstances. They seem to understand my father's needs and try their best to give him what he wants. He has his ways and they seem to understand and he is treated with respect.

Oak Hall is a very special place and I recommend it highly. The staff are lovely and very caring to my mother who sadly suffers from Dementia and Parkinsons, but they do everything to try to keep her engaged and comfortable. Her room is lovely and is kept very clean and tidy as are all areas of the
home. She eats well and looks in the most perfect health, the staff take care to dress her well and even paint her nails! My mother has been in the home since October 2019 and prior to lockdown, we all enjoyed our visits to see her, since March and COVID-19 the staff have tried their best to keep us engaged and we were able to visit when her health suffered. Interaction with her remotely is difficult because of her dementia, but the staff do try with Skype calls. Communication with Oak Hall is good with a regular newsletter and access to both care and medical staff.

My mother has been in Oak Hall since Autumn 2019, she has acute health issues and is bed bound. The management and carers at Oak Hall provide excellent care and attention for mum, she is very happy there - she regularly tells me: "They look after me so well here - I am in the best place; I am safe".

My mother has been cared for at Oak Hall since October 2019. I have always been impressed by the kindness and caring of staff and the approachability of managers. This last month has been particularly worrying as my mother has had Covid and as an only child, I have had to entrust all care to the staff
without being able to visit my very frail mother. I cannot speak too highly of the support I have received and my mother has recovered due to the care she has received. During all the challenges of lockdown in 2020 where it was possible to visit our loved ones, we were enabled to do so and were being regularly Covid tested from very early on. We have always been welcomed as family and were able to visit frequently and often until Lockdown prevented it. I look forward to being able to visit again as soon as it is possible. Staff have become part of our lives and that support has been so much appreciated. It is a difficult step placing loved ones into care but Oak Hall has made it much easier. Thank you.

We felt blessed when we found Oak Hall for Dad. A fantastic facility with caring, attentive staff. Lovely ensuite rooms and great communal facilities - all in a peaceful and beautiful location. Every resident is treated as an individual and all the staff, no matter what their role, have time for a chat.
Resident’s safety and dignity is of paramount importance to this team. Plus they also have time for family members and they always make us feel welcome. I have recommended Oak Hall to several friends already and would not hesitate to recommend it again. This team have worked tirelessly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to keep everyone safe whilst helping us stay in touch with Dad. You may not have heard of it - it only opened in November 2018 but I cannot recommend Oak Hall and its exceptional staff more highly.

Oak Hall is a lovely well kept place. It was very clean and fresh. The staff seemed very kind and caring. Nothing was too much trouble for them. My mother appeared content and happy.
Coronavirus has prevented visiting since March 2020. We have been unable to interact with her since this time to check
how she feels but she was resident in the home a number of months previous to this time and has always mentioned how good the staff were when we visited.

We have been very happy with my mum's care and confident of safety during 'lock-down'. General management feels strong, clear, and approachable - feels that clear standards are set for staff throughout the organisation. Staff are very caring and helpful and have built up strong relationships with Mum
and family. Nursing work mostly excellent - efficient, conscientious, thoughtful and approachable for family. The general atmosphere is friendly, warm, caring and welcoming, and staff often go out of their way to give extra help and to make the environment pleasant, lively and interesting. My mum particularly likes the grounds and building.
Sometimes it's difficult for my mum to understand people's different jobs and uniforms especially when she first arrived - the 'portraits' in the porch are very helpful for this - perhaps a folder of these could be available, something which explains different uniforms?

My mum is currently a resident at Oak Hall and she calls it her home, she loves it. She went there in November 2019 for palliative care. Well care she has recieved in bucket loads and to the extent she's still with us long after her predicted time. The manager has her finger on the pulse along with
the rest of her team, they are nothing short of exemplary in my view and I'm critical believe me. Their handling of the COVID pandemic puts others to shame. Through early intervention and fantastic resourcing throughout the group they have kept cases to just a few.
Oak Hall is a beautiful old building in it's own right and set in lovely grounds. The facilities are excellent, for residents and visitors, restricted at the moment of course. If you are considering somewhere for your loved one, look no further!

I had no personal experience of care facilities in south-west Surrey but after two emergency visits to Frimley Park Hospital and a further two visits to Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford, suffering from acute right-limb ischemia with repeated heart palpitation problems, I felt in need of respite care
of some sort. With the help of my daughter and husband, we settled on Oak Hall Nursing Home in Hazelmere. It was close to my home and after a welcoming call, we were invited to pay a visit to see if it suited me and I was shown three rooms and I selected one with a delightful view from the bedroom window. I left hospital on 29th August and went straight to Oak Hall and immediately felt at ease with the staff, other patients and the building itself. I left on 13th September feeling so much stronger and relaxed. My husband and I will keep in touch with Oak Hall and intend to lunch occasionally in their pleasant Bistro.

All the staff at Oak Hall nursing Home are lovely and kind. They all do their jobs with compassion and warmth. My Mother is happy and content here. I wouldn't think twice about recommending Oak Hall to the point they shouldn't look elsewhere.

Jane McAuley

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2021

Jane is a qualified nurse holding both RNHM and RGN qualifications. She has worked in private houses, care homes and hospitals where she spent some time working in theatres.
Jane joined the Manor Life team at Oak Hall in April 2021.
She has a wealth of experience in managing care homes especially in helping care homes achieve good CQC ratings.

Dawn Critchell

Dawn has worked at Oak Hall since July 2018 when it first opened as a Care Home. Dawn deals with all incoming enquiries for the home ensuring a high standard of communication is maintained.


Dawn started her career in the care industry as a Health Care Assistant and fell in love with the industry. Dawn decided to grow her knowledge of the industry and due to family commitments moved into the administration and front of house side of the business.


Since being at Oak Hall Dawn has become an integral part of the team.

Rosemarie

Rosemarie Williamson

Job Title: Senior Nurse Joined: 2021

Rosemarie has worked here at Oak Hall since June 2021 as an RN. Rosemarie was appointed Senior Nurse in November 2022.


Rosemarie trained in Jamaica and qualified as an RN in 1994, as a Midwife in 1998 and as a Public Health Nurse in 2008.


Rosemarie migrated to the UK from Jamaica in 2016, and once here obtained a HABC Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health and Social Care in 2018. She has been working in the care home setting since then.

Matt Osborn

After starting his career 29 years ago at The Grand in Brighton, Matt has joined our team here at Oak Hall.

Sarah

Sarah McCallum

Job Title: Well-being Manager Joined: 2022

Hi, I'm Sarah and I joined the Oak Hall team in August 2022. I have recently completed a First Class Honours Degree in Psychology at Winchester University and have always wanted to work within the care sector and I really enjoy my role. Previously I have worked in both the catering and education sectors and also spent several years serving in the RAF as an engineer for search and rescue helicopters.

Gabby Marginean

Hi, my name is Gabby and I am a senior nurse here at Oak Hall. I joined the team in 2022 after previously nursing at Holy Cross Hospital. I am from Romania and qualified as a RGN in 2017. I like yoga, running and reading, mostly psychology books.

Ramona

Ramona Melinte

Job Title: RGN Joined: 2021

Hi, I'm Ramona and I am part of the nursing team here at Oak Hall. I moved here from Romania in 2016. I've been a carer since that time, moving up to lead carer and finally qualifying as an RGN in 2020. I joined the team here in December 2021.


My hobbies include gardening, movies cinema and shopping as well as spending time with my lovely husband and two wonderful sons.

Shirley

Shirley Smithers

Job Title: Head Housekeeper Joined: 2021

Shirley joined Oak Hall in April 2021. Shirley has worked in care for all of her life. Having started her career with King Edward VII and worked there for 30+ years. Shirley then went to Holy Cross Hospital where she completed my NVQ level 2 in housekeeping. Shirley then moved to Moorlands Care Home and completed my NVQ level 2 in Dementia. In my spare time Shirley likes to walk my dog, Jasper and spend time in the garden, but most of all spending time with her 3 boys.

Hi, I'm Abin and I am one of the team leaders on the care team. I have a masters in Data Science and have been a carer for 3 years.

Carol

Carol Falconitin

Job Title: Senior Health Care Assistant Joined: 2021

Hi, I'm Carol and I was born in the Philippines. I moved to the UK and became a citizen in 2005, became qualified in care in 2009 and joined the Oak Hall team in 2021. Before that, I graduated with a degree in Airline & Airport Management and worked at Gatwick Airport as a PSA.
