All staff always put the residents first and always listen and do their best under often difficult circumstances. Everyone is keen to offer the best service and when at times a different requirement is requested the staff work hard to implement it as soon as possible. The home works hard with its communication to all shareholders.
Thank you for your lovely review. Staff always work very hard to do their best for the residents and thank you for acknowledging this. Communication is key in any care home and for ensuring all residents receive the best possible care. Thank you again for your review. Kind regards, Jane.
My mother has now been at the home for a year, and she is always happy and complimentary about the staff. She has always had excellent care and nursing. Food is of good quality and plentiful. She feels secure at all times.
Thank you for your lovely review. Mum is one of our oldest residents, and she has such pearls of wisdom when we are talking to her. Such a wonderful smile and always kind words. She is such a pleasure to look after and spend time with. Thank you for taking the time to write your review.
As a friend of a resident, I share her opinion that she could not be better treated and looked after than she is at Oak Hall. I am unable to do all the ratings as I don't have the personal knowledge to enable me to express an opinion.
Thank you for your kind review. We are so glad that your friend feels that she could not be any better treated that is so lovely to hear. Thank you for taking the time to send in your review; kind regards.
Oak Hall has a welcoming feel, and the facilities and grounds are lovely.
Thank you for your review. Your Mum has settled in well and really enjoys the activities our well-being team offer. She is an absolute pleasure to have in the home.
My parents are at Oak Hall and settling in well. They enjoy a wide variety of activities. All staff are lovely, very kind and supportive. It is a respectful and cheerful place. Beautiful setting with lovely grounds and views.
Thank you for your kind review. Your parents have a very active social life at Oak Hall and have made a lot of new friends. They are a pleasure to care for.
My uncle has been here for over a year now and is well looked after and given the care and attention he couldn't get at home. He is always clean and happy with the home and the care he receives. The care home does a lot for the residents.
Your uncle is an absolute delight and a real character. Thank you for such a lovely review.
My sister lacks the ability to speak or call help, so is very vulnerable. However, she is regularly checked and kinds care assistants feed her with practice. Her drug regime is checked and if I call help, for example, to change her incontinence pads, it swiftly arrives. The room is well equipped with a special bed to change her position. The food is appropriate to her needs. One gets the impression that the care team and manager do care for their residents. As with any care home they are often short of permanent staff, but the agency workers are polite and cheery.
Thankyou for your kind words. Its a pleasure looking after your sister and I know you find it difficult seeing her as she is now but she loves seeing you. All the staff like to pop into see her and have a chat with her. She loves listening to music and also sometimes joins in. Thankyou for your review. kind regards.
I would sincerely like to thank all the staff at Oak Hall Care Home for the care my mother received during her stay there. Many individuals went above and beyond the scope of their normal duties in order to meet Mum's needs and their caring and friendly approach is much appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble and I know she cherishes the friendships she has made during her stay.
It was a pleasure looking after Mum during the time she was with us. All the staff wish her well in her new home and we all hope she settles in and enjoys her new surroundings.
I have been here for two and a half years, am extremely happy in all respects and would recommend Oak Hall Care Home to any would-be resident. The constant reviews are ongoing to ensure our happiness.
Its lovely to hear that the residents are so happy in the home. Oak Hall is a home for life for those that live here. It is a happy home and all the staff strive to make this a family orientated home for everyone, thankyou for such a lovely review.
For three and a half years I have been here and been satisfied with the standard of care I have received.
It is lovely to know that the residents are satisfied with the standard of care they receive. To stay in the home for three and a half years just shows how happy they are. Thankyou for your review.
The staff were fantastic, kind thoughtful and discrete.
We knew her stay would not be a long one but they gave us space and privacy, allowing us to remain with her overnight, this was of great comfort to the family and mother.
Really cannot recommend highly enough.
Not all stars were applicable to our case so have marked those as a 3, this is no disrepect to the care home but simply not relevant to our particular case.
It was a great pleasure to look after your mum and support you all as a family. It was not for very long but it was an honour to be able to help in her final days.
My mother was placed at Oak Hall in Haslemere after being discharged from the hospital by the social services team as part of the A2D NHS scheme. Oak Hall is a converted girl's school with long corridors and is set over 3 floors. We had no choice in the placement as it was being funded by the NHS. Unfortunately, this home is not a specialist centre for those with dementia and as my mother has this condition, it makes it difficult to navigate this vast space as it is confusing, so for that reason alone I would not recommend it. The food though presentable is served by staff that are not aware of what they are serving and on one occasion my mother who is a vegetarian was served chicken. On leaving the home, 'Oak Hall' failed to give me her medication and I had to make another trip to collect part of the prescription as apparently, they had run out of two of the drugs. Now neither did they tell me of this nor did they offer to correct the mistake requesting that I correct their mistake. Poor!
Oak Hall is a large country house, beautifully refurbished and extended to provide a purpose built care home for its residents, some of whom live with dementia. Your mother informed us during her stay that she liked a variety of foods, including fish and white meat. Our menu for the day your mother...
The staff at Oak Hall Care Home are always friendly, caring and diligent. The ladies on reception and in the office, have been there from the beginning and give a lovely personal touch. It feels like a real home and my mum is very happy there. If I have any issues, I know I can always talk to the staff. The bistro is very sociable, so even when my mum isn’t able to come out, we can sit and have lunch there, and she can invite friends for lunch. The bistro attracts the younger, more able residents of the apartments, giving a younger energy to the home. Oak Hall is in a beautiful setting and residents can sit outside if the weather is kind.
Thank you for your review and what you have said about reception and office staff who often get forgotten. I am glad that your Mum is happy in the home and that she enjoys eating in the bistro.
Oak Hall Care Home is a lovely care home. The rooms are comfortable and residents are able to bring their own furniture to make them homely. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Food is excellent with a lovely bistro for residents and family to come and visit.
Thank you for the lovely review. We like to make the rooms a home from home and for the residents to feel like this is truly their home for the time they are with us.
My friend was very reluctant to go into a care home but has seemed to have settled and really enjoys the food at Oak Hall.
Thank you to the staff.
Thank you for such a lovely review. We always like welcoming friends into the home and are very happy when people become part of our ever growing family.
My grandmother sadly passed away at Oak Hall Care Home after just 12 days of arriving from a long stay in hospital following a stroke. Due to Covid restrictions/an isolation period, we, unfortunately, weren't able to see her until her final day. The staff my family and I encountered on that sad day were absolutely wonderful and we couldn't have asked for lovelier people to look after her (and us!). It's such a shame we didn't get to know everyone a bit better but our overall impression of Oak Hall is a positive one.
Hello. Thank you so much for your kind words. The team will be so proud when I show them. They try their very best every day to make a difference to peoples lives and your review shows them it is all worth it. We will be thinking of you all.
Mum was discharged to Oak Hall Care Home following three long months in hospital. Mum received so much respect, empathy and good personal care from all the different member's of staff from all departments during her 9-weeks at Oak Hall. My mum was restricted by her debilitating health issues, so was confined mostly to her bed/room, but the staff always made her days a bit brighter and loved to listen to her chat. She received good palliative care, and we were so pleased we were able to visit her within the current restrictions. Sadly she died, but she received the best care we could have wished for and with dignity and love till the end.
Mum was lovely to look after, always liked to chat with anyone who could spend time with her and had such varied conversations. It was lovely that family members were able to spend time with her at the end and share precious moments.
My grandmother visited Oak Hall for a month for emergency respite after an unexpected operation. The whole team made Grandma so welcome and comfortable. We were extremely impressed by all the staff, and nothing was too much of a problem for them to resolve. The care home itself is a beautiful, highly maintained building in the most beautiful grounds. I cannot recommend Oak Hall enough.
Thank you, Emma, for such lovely comments. You Grandmother was a welcome addition to our family and is welcome back at any time. She fitted in very well and made friends with some of our long-stay residents.
We hope she is doing well at home, but if she ever needs a holiday, please, let us know.Thank you again.
My parents moved into Oak Hall in September 2020 following a significant decline in their health. My mother died shortly afterwards. Her end-of-life care was exemplary. My siblings and I were allowed to visit her in the week leading up to her death. She was nursed in a calm, sunlit room with my father with her all the time. Both my father and brother were with her when she died. We could not have asked for a better end to her life. My father remained at Oak Hall until he died suddenly following a short illness in January. The carers and nursing staff have been consistently incredibly caring under very difficult circumstances. They did all they could to facilitate family visits and Skype or Facetime calls. The rooms are really homely and the view onto the garden and beyond made it a really lovely place for our parents to be. Oak Hall has a real atmosphere of being very well run. My brother, sisters and I would very highly recommend Oak Hall.
What a lovely review. I am so glad your parents were happy at the home and that their passing was as peaceful as possible for them both.
Despite all the Covid protocols and restrictions they are having to work with, the staff at Oak Hall have maintained the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. There is an easy rapport with the staff you see on a regular basis and smiles and greetings from those you don't. As he is not able to be with us, it is a great comfort to his family to know that dad is being cared for by a highly professional and passionate family at Oak Hall.
Thank you, Carol. I am extremely pleased that the staff are friendly and welcoming. We see Oak Hall as a family and I am glad that is what you feel when you visit. As restrictions ease we will be allowing more people in. We currently allow 2 visitors at a time in our POD for an hour at a time.
