Oak Hall in Haslemere, Surrey, opened its doors to new residents in November 2018, following an extensive refurbishment. It offers luxurious surroundings for 55 residents, all of whom enjoy their own en-suite rooms. Some of the rooms can accommodate couples.

In keeping with other homes within the group, Oak Hall will deliver exceptional levels of care in convivial surroundings. Restaurant-style dining is a key feature, alongside a dedicated Health and wellness team who will be running a wide range of well being activities to keep residents active in mind body and soul.

Oak Hall will offer a range of care options: residential, convalescent, respite and specialist palliative care are all available, each with the aim of providing dignity and respect through programmes tailored to the needs of the individual.

Oak Hall lives up to its name with a large oak-panelled entrance hall; oak staircase and balustrading with many further oak features throughout the building. The original interiors of the principal rooms remain little altered: marquetry inlay to some floors, plastered ceilings, stone and marble fireplaces, marble floors, heraldic stained glass and tiled bathrooms.

My mother has now been a resident for just over two years. She was helped to settle in right from the start and has been very content to be here. She loves all the carers who take the time to chat and joke with her whenever they visit her room. The activities are very varied and topical, and Mum gladly
joins in with most of them, especially in the afternoon, as she is no early riser! She also enjoys the meals as she says the cooking is very good and there is always a good choice. The home is always responsive if I have a query or problem, and the staff are very approachable and willing to listen and help whenever a need arises. I am very grateful that we found OakHall for Mum. It has worked out very well.

My husband required palliative care following radiotherapy treatment and Oak Hall Care Home was recommended to me. Due to his illness, my husband was very confused and disorientated but the staff made a huge effort to calm him and to make his transition from hospital as smooth as possible. All the staff
- at every level - were professional, caring and supportive, both to myself and my husband. To be able to take our dog in to visit my husband and to see the joy on my husband's face was priceless. I would have no hesitation in recommending Oak Hall for a loved one.

My care home experience is very limited and I am here in respite care as a result of a serious fall in May last. In retrospect, I feel, to what I would describe as a 'medical hotel' better suited because of the emphasis on constant physiotherapy. Nevertheless, Oak Hall is very well managed and staffed,
and has a very friendly and comfortable feel. I have been very well treated and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone in need of long-term care and effectively looking for a home. It feels very serene here in a beautiful setting. As you will see, the rankings given indicate high quality.

Oak Hall continues to provide excellent service for my father, who has been a resident for three and a half years. They have never haltered in maintaining a homely, family atmosphere where each resident is valued as an individual. The staff are truly excellent, and the manager leads the team by example
so that high standards are maintained in every aspect of the service.

As a long-term resident, I am very happy here. I am always very well looked after and the care is very well organised. The staff are courteous and do their best to meet all my requests. The food is mostly good but the quality of produce could do with some improvement. This and the shortage of staff
is my only criticism. The rooms and grounds are excellent.

My mother has been in Oak Hall for over 4 years! She has been well cared for and enjoys the company. The food and her room are fine and she was here during COVID lockdown - which was really difficult for all of us. My mother always says, that if you have to be in a home, this is the best one!

I have been a resident here for twenty months. I am very happy and comfortable with Oak Hall. Just one think I would mention in the response time to me pressing my room buzzer is not good - too long a wait.

On arrival, no interaction from manager, receptionist very nice. My mum is independent, just needed meals and eye drops, after cataract surgery, four times a day. My mum had to ask repeatedly for her eye drops, no set times were given. She wanted her meals in her room, they were cold, very poor amount
and was often hungry. On one of the shifts, eye drops were given at 7 pm and then only a get of 1 hour, 8:20 pm! I have taken my mum out a week early as she was so upset. The manager was very dismissive. We were charged £3,000 for this poor care. Very dissapointed.

Thank you for your praise regarding the warm welcome you received from our reception team. I am sorry to read that Mum’s stay did not meet your expectations. Mum was prescribed eye drops 4 times a day which were given. Mum chose the times she wanted her eye drops. Whilst our nurses advised Mum to have them 6 hours apart Mum decided on the timings to suit her daily routine. There was one occasion during Mum's stay that she informed us her soup was lukewarm. We served a hot portion straight away and apologised. Mum often spoke to staff about how lovely the food was at Oak Hall, it’s disappointing to hear your feedback after Mum had gone home. I visited Mum nearly every day of her stay. We both hail from the same county and had some lovely conversations about the area invoking happy childhood memories for both of us. Each time I visited Mum I asked how was her stay so far. Mum didn’t share any concerns with me so it’s disappointing to hear your feedback after Mum had gone home. Thank you

All staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Staff look after guests extremely well. Nurses are very professional and monitor residents daily. Meals are on time and provide daily choice. All arrivals comment on the lovely atmosphere on arrival. Very great range of activities, including exercise classes.

Our father moved into Oak Hall Care Home and was with you for four months. We cannot thank you enough for the wonderful nursing care and support that you gave him. He was welcomed into your family, wholeheartedly, and felt very relaxed and happy. His health improved and so did his well-being. We, as
a family, also felt very supported and welcome.

We looked at a few homes, and this one ticked all the boxes. Rooms are beautiful, menus and food very good. Staff are helpful and pleasant, and there is a great activities schedule.

Jane McAuley

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2021

Jane is a qualified nurse holding both RNHM and RGN qualifications. She has worked in private houses, care homes and hospitals where she spent some time working in theatres.
Jane joined the Manor Life team at Oak Hall in April 2021.
She has a wealth of experience in managing care homes especially in helping care homes achieve good CQC ratings.

Dawn

Dawn Critchell

Job Title: Front of House Manager Joined: 2018

Dawn has worked at Oak Hall since July 2018 when it first opened as a Care Home. Dawn deals with all incoming enquiries for the home ensuring a high standard of communication is maintained.


Dawn started her career in the care industry as a Health Care Assistant and fell in love with the industry. Dawn decided to grow her knowledge of the industry and due to family commitments moved into the administration and front of house side of the business.


Since being at Oak Hall Dawn has become an integral part of the team.

Rosemarie Williamson

Job Title: Senior Nurse Joined: 2021

Rosemarie has worked here at Oak Hall since June 2021 as an RN. Rosemarie was appointed Senior Nurse in November 2022.


Rosemarie trained in Jamaica and qualified as an RN in 1994, as a Midwife in 1998 and as a Public Health Nurse in 2008.


Rosemarie migrated to the UK from Jamaica in 2016, and once here obtained a HABC Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health and Social Care in 2018. She has been working in the care home setting since then.

Hi, I'm Sarah and I joined the Oak Hall team in August 2022. I have recently completed a First Class Honours Degree in Psychology at Winchester University and have always wanted to work within the care sector and I really enjoy my role. Previously I have worked in both the catering and education sectors and also spent several years serving in the RAF as an engineer for search and rescue helicopters.

Hi, I'm Ramona and I am part of the nursing team here at Oak Hall. I moved here from Romania in 2016. I've been a carer since that time, moving up to lead carer and finally qualifying as an RGN in 2020. I joined the team here in December 2021.


My hobbies include gardening, movies cinema and shopping as well as spending time with my lovely husband and two wonderful sons.

Shirley joined Oak Hall in April 2021. Shirley has worked in care for all of her life. Having started her career with King Edward VII and worked there for 30+ years. Shirley then went to Holy Cross Hospital where she completed my NVQ level 2 in housekeeping. Shirley then moved to Moorlands Care Home and completed my NVQ level 2 in Dementia. In my spare time Shirley likes to walk my dog, Jasper and spend time in the garden, but most of all spending time with her 3 boys.
