The superb team of carers and nurses looked after him with warmth, humour and humanity. They made Dad laugh and vice versa. How vital is that?
When we wanted to have Dad changed, dressed, and hoisted into his wheelchair so that he could get outside for some fresh air, there was always somebody to help. After a walk and lunch, wherever possible outside, someone was always there to help us get him back into bed.
The team get all the important things right. Dad was looked after, washed, changed, fed, talked to. He never had a pressure sore whilst he was there.
The beautifully maintained grounds are a sanctuary - somewhere to depressurize. We'd sometimes bring a picnic and sit in the sun. We wheeled Dad down to the tennis court and the family had a combined tennis tournament and picnic. There was no issue with the management team; who are helpful, compassionate and knowledgeable. They were happy to accommodate us.
Thank You!
Thankyou for such a lovely review. We will always remember Dad and Mum with great fondness. They were such a delight to have in the home. His wisdom on cricket no doubt helped our staff hone their skills in the game. His humour always brought laughter to the home and you could hear him wherever he was chuckling away, he will be missed.
The home is clean & welcoming. Highly recommend.
Thank you for such a lovely review. I'm so glad you feel your friend is in good hands and that he is treated with dignity and respect in our home. Everyone should always be treated with dignity and respect no matter what. We have a hardworking team that keeps the home clean and tidy and ensures that it is always welcoming to anyone who comes here. Thank you again.
Oak Hall recently provided end-of-life care for my husband and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Sadly he was only there for a very short while, but all the staff were compassionate and caring, and couldn't have done more for myself and my daughter. I cannot thank everyone enough.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Even though your husband was only with us for a very short time, he was still part of our family. We are glad we could help at such an important time. Thank you again.
A beautiful Victorian manor house is superb, well maintained and has original gardens. Helpful and friendly staff. Large public rooms with TV, games etc. Weekly programme of events and the restaurant open to visitors. Ensuite bathrooms in all resident's rooms. I have been visiting a friend there for over 3 years. Although very disabled she appears quite happy.
Thank you for your review. I'm so pleased that you find our home well maintained and staff helpful. Our programme of events is extensive to cater for everyone's needs. Thank you for taking the time to write.
The staff team were; warm, friendly, caring, attentive, sensitive to individual needs not only to Dad but to my Mum, sister, our families and me. This, along with the gorgeous grounds, wonderful drinks machine and lovely interior eased our anxieties and aided precious visits with Dad ensuring his last few months on this earth were the best they could be.
We honestly cannot thank Oak Hall and its incredible staff team enough.
Thank you for such kind work. The staff team work very hard to make Oak Hall feel like home and be supportive of everyone who comes here including their family members. I'm happy that Dad's last months were the best they could be, he was a pleasure to support as were the whole family.
My nana is really enjoying her stay here at Oak Hall. The home is very clean and welcoming with beautiful and spacious grounds. Oak Hall also offers plenty of activities. Also, my nana constantly compliments the food.
Thank you for taking the time to post a review. I am so pleased your Nana is enjoying her stay at Oak Hall and she is enjoying the food. She is such a lovely lady. Thank you again.
My almost 90-year-old father stayed at Oak Hall to recuperate in May - June following some falls and suffering from long-term covid. It's a beautiful historic house, and the views over the lush rolling hills of the National Park are gorgeous. Dad had an excellent view from his large bedroom window and enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace on sunny days. I think having such a lovely nature around really helped his recovery. The staff were helpful, friendly, cheery and professional, making Dad feel very welcome and treating him with dignity. The food was really excellent, Dad enjoyed every meal, and this helped him regain some of the weight he had lost. They have an excellent physio visiting as well. Dad also joined in a lot of the fun activities they do and was quite dedicated to the armchair exercise classes. He looked really transformed by the end of his 4 weeks there!
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. It was such a pleasure having your father with us he really liked the activity sessions. He is more than welcome to come back any time for a visit to say hello or to stay. Thank you once again.
Fantastic staff who really put the 'care' into being a care home. Mum wasn't there for long as it turned into end of life, but everyone at Oak Hall was caring and compassionate and treated her with respect and dignity. Nothing was too much for them and they looked after all the little things. Great communication with us as relatives at a difficult time. Full-time qualified nursing staff gave us huge peace of mind. Although Mum wasn't ever able to use all the facilities, Oak Hall is really well looked after as a home and presented spotlessly. Every single member of staff does a great job. Not the cheapest, but worth every penny and hence great value. Very highly recommended.
Thank you for such a lovely review. It was an absolute pleasure to look after Mum and support your family when you needed us. End of life is always difficult but we do try to take the pressure off families by being there for you. Thank you again.
Mum was in Oak Hall for the last month of her life. The staff treated both her and us with incredible dignity, efficiency and tact. We are very grateful and would not hesitate to recommend Oak Hall. Unfortunately, Mum couldn't use the activities so I can't recommend them - but they looked great!
Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to support your family in the last month of Mum's life. She was such a lovely lady, so dignified. I am glad you chose to spend her last days with us, it is an honour to support people at the end of their lives. Thank you again.
Wonderful service. My mother was well looked after. Kept very comfortable and not in pain. All the staff from qualified nurses, carers, general staff and admin staff are very sympathetic at a difficult time and could not have done any more for my mother or my brother and myself. They made the passing of our mother as comforting and easy as possible. The location of the care home is lovely with access to gardens. The facilities throughout the hall and within individual en-suite rooms are very good. I would certainly recommend the care home for general residence care and end-of-life/palliative care. I cannot thank the team enough for the way they have helped over the last few difficult weeks.
Thank you for such a positive review. It was such a pleasure to look after your Mother, she was such a lovely lady. You have a wonderful family and we were very happy to support you at such an important time.
Oak Hall did a super job providing emergency respite care for my mum following a hospital admission. The management and staff were flexible and caring and I felt confident that Mum was warm, safe and being well looked after. I have no hesitation in recommending Oak Hall to anyone.
Thank you for your review. It was such a pleasure supporting Mum during her brief stay. She made such a great recovery we wish her well going forward.
All of the staff were polite and pleasant helping me find my way through the home to my friend's room by leading me all the way there.
I asked my friend when we were alone how he felt about the care home and he also said he could not find one fault with the care that he is getting, he gets lots of interaction with other residents and enjoys the activities.
I have to say that I am very impressed with the home and wouldn't mind living there myself.
What a fantastic review. I'm so glad your friend is happy at the home it is a beautiful place with such a lot going on inside and outside the home. We have a wide range of activities and such beautiful grounds. Thank you again.
Excellent care home. My family friend received amazing, caring and compassionate care while staying here. Very understanding and helpful management. The rooms are lovely, clean and bright with exceptional views outside. A good selection of food is offered to the residents and a great selection of activities that residents can attend. Nothing was any trouble for all the staff and I would highly recommend it.
Thank you for such a lovely review. We are very lucky to be surrounded by such beautiful countryside. The team always go the extra mile for the residents. Thank you again for taking the time and trouble to write a review for us.
The staff were very attentive to us and others seated around, and it had a very comfortable atmosphere. It was a lovely time, and we had a good catch-up.
I am so glad you enjoyed lunch and a catch-up with your friend. Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We hope you visit again soon.
The care staff are amazing, and the residents have lots of really good and challenging activities to keep them mentally focused and active.
Thank you for writing such a great review. We have a fantastic well-being team that keeps everyone entertained. The care staff work very hard to make sure all the residents have all their care needs met. We are just one big family at Oak Hall that really does care about each other. Thank you for taking the time to write a review.
Oak Hall has assisted myself and my Nan when they helped me to move her to Oak Hall Care Home. Nan's health has improved and she is content. It was a good move made by all. The care is excellent and all staff are friendly and welcoming. Nan seems more coherent than when she was at home, they are willing to listen and to help in any way they can.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. This is the second time your Nan has been with us and we love having her. She is a pleasure to support and we will help you in any way we can. Thank you.
Oak Hall is a care home that doesn't feel like a care home. It's both grand and comfortable, a country house, living with lovely rooms and food, in a glorious setting. It's very well run by the outstanding manager, with a well-led team of nurses who are professional, caring, kind and focused on the individual. I am very glad my mother is spending her post-stroke life in such a supportive environment with friendly, helpful staff and expert care. Thank you, Oak Hall; you've been and continue to be a lifesaver!
Thank you for such a wonderful review. Mum and your journey has not been easy, but both of you are making extremely good progress. It always is a team effort; thank you for continuing to work with us. It's a pleasure having you both as part of our family. Thank you again for taking the time to write such a glowing review.
My mother has now been a resident for just over two years. She was helped to settle in right from the start and has been very content to be here. She loves all the carers who take the time to chat and joke with her whenever they visit her room. The activities are very varied and topical, and Mum gladly joins in with most of them, especially in the afternoon, as she is no early riser! She also enjoys the meals as she says the cooking is very good and there is always a good choice. The home is always responsive if I have a query or problem, and the staff are very approachable and willing to listen and help whenever a need arises. I am very grateful that we found OakHall for Mum. It has worked out very well.
Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write a review. We love having Mum with us; she is a real character and is great to sit and have a chat with. She joins in with most activities but also likes a walk outside, weather permitting. She also has a fantastic sense of humour.
My husband required palliative care following radiotherapy treatment and Oak Hall Care Home was recommended to me. Due to his illness, my husband was very confused and disorientated but the staff made a huge effort to calm him and to make his transition from hospital as smooth as possible. All the staff - at every level - were professional, caring and supportive, both to myself and my husband. To be able to take our dog in to visit my husband and to see the joy on my husband's face was priceless. I would have no hesitation in recommending Oak Hall for a loved one.
Thankyou for your review. I'm so glad we were able to support you and your husband at the end of his life. Its always a difficult time for anyone and to have your dog with you calmed your husband and brought a smile to his face. I'm pleased we were able to help.
So welcoming, clean and friendly. A lovely setting and everyone is so kind. Clean and a luxury environment.
Thank you for your wonderful review. We are very proud of Oak Hall and the grounds we occupy. We have stunning views over the rolling hills of Surrey. Staff are proud to work at Oak Hall and always strive to be welcoming and kind. Thank you again for taking the time and trouble to write a review.
