I am carer for my wife who has advanced Parkinson's. I had an operation and therefore booked both of us into St. Cross Grange for 4 weeks respite care to enable me to recover. Everything about the home was lovely especially the caring staff and the lovely spacious areas throughout the home. The care, food, cleanliness etc was excellent,

My husband and I moved into Oak Hall for a two week stay on 11th July 2026. He had just been discharged from hospital following a stroke and I was there for respite and relaxation. From the moment we arrived (late thanks to patient transport) we were made to feel very welcome. Everyone was kind, caring and attentive and we would happily recommend Oak Hall to others. Aside from the garden party we didn't take part in any of the activities that were provided as my husband was having physio which coincided with many of them. Afterwards a member of staff provided him with a nice cool beer, which was very welcome!

Thankyou for taking the time to write a review. It was a pleasure having you both at Oak Hall even for a short time. I'm glad you both enjoyed your stay especially the cold beer. Its a pity you didn't get to join in the numerous activities we have on offer. Thankyou again for the review.

St Cross Grange supported my husband through the transition from home to respite and then back to home well. We were reassured throughout and everyone was very positive which helped me have peace of mind. He enjoyed his meals and took part in the activities even through the very hot weather.

Since the moment my mum in law moved into park manor she was made to feel that this beautiful place was home, her room is wonderful, the meals are like a restaurant would serve and the staff and care is outstanding. Claudia and her staff are hard working, caring and nothing is too much trouble. Sylvia has settled in so well because of them, we never have to worry about her care there. Physically or mentally, she is a very sociable lady who was slowly missing out on that part of her life! But not now she is thriving and we couldn't be happier! There is always something to do there and they are so much fun we couldn't be any happier that her later years in life have become better and happier because of them

cannot praise Park Manor Care Home highly enough. From the moment my mother became a resident, the care, compassion, and professionalism shown by every member of the team have been truly outstanding.
The difference in my mother has been remarkable. She has completely thrived since moving to Park Manor-she is happier, more confident, and enjoys life again. Seeing her smile, engage with others, and genuinely look forward to each day has been invaluable to our family. She is a completely different person, and that is a testament to the exceptional care and support she receives.
The entire care team is fantastic. They treat every resident with kindness, dignity, patience, and genuine affection. It is clear they go above and beyond to ensure residents feel safe, comfortable, and valued. Their communication with families is excellent, and nothing ever seems too much trouble.

Park Manor is more than just a care home-it is a warm, welcoming community where residents are encouraged to live.

I arranged to stay for 1 week after having a total knee replacement - but on visiting, pre-operatively, there was such a calm, peaceful atmosphere, I changed to 2 weeks. I was given the correct ratio of care: independence for my recovery.Time well spent. All the staff were caring and worked well together as a team for the benefit of the residents. I was impressed, in the dining room at lunchtime, a senior nurse discreetly observed residents eating lunch - appetite, etc. One of my visitors commented it was the best care home they had visited in a professional capacity.

My mum has recently become a resident after a week's respite stay earlier this year.
The whole team has been so warm, welcoming and kind making this huge transition so much easier.
Carla, the clinical lead gave my mum and I several hours to choose the right room with no sense of rush at all. (Even though it was a Monday morning and lots going on!) My mum was particularly anxious about the absence of a decent size cabinet in the bathroom for all her various bottles, and no hook on the door. Within a few days, the team purchased and put up a new cabinet and the lovely maintainance guy took time to put up my mother's pictures paying time and attention to where Mum wanted them placed. The reception team Robert and Page have also been so welcoming and lovely.
Although it's early days, all these little things have made such a difference to mum and me in terms of feeling we have made the right choice.

Thank you so much to the whole team!

My dad has been in the care of Lincombe Manor for a whole month now, having arrived from our hospital, where he had been for one month, and the improvement in my dad is amazing, all due to the care and compassion from the staff. I feel my dad is very well cared for, he is safe and all the staff are lovely. The food is lovely and caters to your needs. I leave after a visit feeling assured he is certainly receiving the best care possible, thank you Nichola and your team.

Mum found Hewitt Lodge a comfortable, clean and very homely! She very much enjoyed the companionship with the other residents and appreciated the freedom of choice offered! The staff were kind, caring and efficient and I would be happy to return in the future! No complaints!! Great news!!

Please note the only negative comment from my mother was she was woken abruptly one morning by a woman not in uniform who she didn't know/recognise and never saw again?!

I have visited my great aunt a few times at Park Manor now and it's always lovely. There is a lovely feel about the place. The staff are brilliant and are always at hand to help with a smile. My aunt is very happy there and always tells me about all the things that are going on. She enjoys the various activities that are on and she loves the food and cakes. Claudia the manager is very friendly as are all the staff. I enjoy visiting my aunt there as it's a really beautiful building.

Overall Experience

We chose this home because of the CQC rating of good, this is clearly out of date. It is poorly managed and predominantly a money making concern. Individual carers try hard but there is not enough of them and qualified staff contribute little. My mother was discharged there from hospital where she had become malnourished and dehydrated. Wehn we visited there drinks and suppliments on a table in her room which she could not reach and she was thirsty. We coud not get reliable information on her continence issues and she didn't eat because the food was so poor. She was paying nearly £2000 per week and the profit margins are enhanced by poor quality food and insufficient staff. She was unhappy. the nursing staff solution was to push for antidepressants despite her previous history of confusion we were ignored, representing mums interests labelled us as difficult. They day she left this expensive poorly run facility we were delighted.

My grandma had a 4 week respite stay at Mewitt Lodge, part of Lincombe Manor Care Centre. When I visited her she looked well cared for and happy. Excellent care home for the planned respite visit. It has the feel of a hotel and it is also a nice place to visit relatives. The activity leader was a joy and cheered all the residents up. Staff were caring and respectful to the residents. Food was extremely good and opportunities to socialise were well provided. Generally the experience seemed to be as good a one as is possible if the elderly person cannot stay at their own home.
