St Cross Grange Care Home

My mum came to St Cross Grange for end of life care. The admission process was straightforward and arranged promptly. She was made to feel at home immediately. Both my mum and her many visitors enjoyed the welcoming and calm atmosphere that prevails throughout the home. She felt very well cared for,
day and night ( night time cups of tea were very welcome!)She loved the food and the staff who took such trouble preparing it for residents. The catering staff also went out of their way to accommodate the dietary requirements of her visitors. The turn around time for laundry amazed her-usually returned the same day, and always with a smile and a chat from the domestic staff. She felt safe in the knowledge that when medical problems arose appropriate advice was sort and acted upon promptly. As family we too were made to feel welcome and part of the St Cross Grange community.
I know my mum would have no hesitation in recommending this home.

Both my parents have been in Park Manor for a few weeks now and we couldn't be happier! The staff are kind and caring, the management have gone above and beyond to help with the process and paperwork and mum and dad are both very happy. My sister and I went to see a few homes before deciding and as
soon as we walked into Park Manor we knew that would be the right one. The rooms are lovely, the grounds are gorgeous but mostly they will have a quality of life that they wouldn't have had they stayed at home.
Reply from Kim Harding, General Manager at Park Manor Care Home

Thank you for your feedback. I and the team are so pleased that you are happy with the care and support that your parents have received so far. It was an absolute pleasure to welcome them both to Park Manor and to see them settle into their new surroundings and building positive relationships with all. They are very special people and it has been lovely to get to know them both, their smiles and laughter fill us all with joy on a daily basis. The team will be thrilled when I share your lovely comments with them.Thank you once again.

Excellent facilities, however the room of the resident could use more regular cleans. however due to his condition and hypersensitivity to sound, the cleaners cannot use vacuums. I would like them to instead at least clean with a broom and air freshener.
Reply from Jane McAuley, General Manager at Oak Hall Care Home

Thankyou for your feedback. We try not to use air fresheners as they mask smells rather then dealing with the source. This resident does not like us using sprays in their room. We do deep clean the room on days that this resident is not in their room which is their preference. Thankyou for writing a review.

My mother was in need of a nursing home after a long spell in Hospital, she had many medical needs and was emotionally drained.
From the first afternoon of being at ( The Manor Branksome ) she had first class medical care , with very understanding, and caring staff.
Her health and wellbeing has
improved immensely since her being a resident by 100%, my mother needs palliative care , she received much more then I ever expected.
All of the staff at the home have show great love and kindness to my mother, which is all a son could ask for.
The food is first class , reminds me of a top boutique hotel I stayed in , what more could I ask for from a home from home .
The general manager is very professional and understands what make a good nursing home, her staff are very well trained and really care, if any family are looking for a good home, with excellent facilities look no further.
The general manager has a great eye for quality and has this down to her professional team

My father has been a resident at Oak Hall, Haslemere for two and a half years and just turned 100 yrs old. He has just celebrated with a lovely family party in one of Oak Halls lovely lounge areas. All guests were made to feel very welcome. The staff and carers go above and beyond for him and always
make time for him. The enviroment is pleasant and very convenient for me to visit as I live locally. His medical needs are well taken care of and he is still very mentally active and I'm sure his excellent care has assisted with this. They make him feel very special and he is never lonely when family members can't be there with him.

The team at Oakhall are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. The administrator kindly offered us the Library to host my father's 100th birthday with his extended family and friends (plus musicians). The chef provided an amazing cake and everyone had a lovely afternoon. The Oakhall team couldn't have
been more accommodating. They also made sure my father was dressed in his smart clothes, hair washed and styled before they brought him to his party. Thank you Oakhall team.

My mother spent several weeks here before she died. The welcome and care received by my mother was wonderful throughout the days and the nights. The Manager set the tone with enormous kindness, dignity, professionalism and organisation, that I related to as an ex Nurse. My fears about my mother dying
were addressed through conversations facilitated by the Manager, with the Macmillan Service and visiting GP - both of whom were wonderful too. Their guidance was followed by the Nurses - who were some of the most kind people I have ever met. Equally, the Carers without exception - were wonderful. Their patience, kindness and personal care of our Mum was everything that I could have hoped for.
My family and I visited most of the time and felt loved and cared for too. That's quite something; it was unexpected, beautiful, and reflected the best of human kindness in our troubled world.
All the staff at Reception had a friendly word as we walked passed them to get coffee.

Arranged the placement of my mother to Park Manor Care Home at the beginning of June. She was previously at another care home in Bournemouth where she had been for six years.
Apprehensive about this move as six years in one home could create an big upheaval for my Mum.
However on visiting Park Manor
for a viewing an an invitation to lunch my mother fell in love with the home.
The home has recently been totally refurbished to a very high standard and the bedrooms, restaurant and lounges are beautiful.
All the staff, lead by the manager are extremely helpful and pleasant and my mother is extremely happy saying it is like staying in a hotel. The mealtimes are organised so that all the residents are eating together with the opportunity to have a chat and the choice and quality of food is excellent.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback. Receiving positive feedback such as this, certainly ensures the the whole team know that they are getting it right when caring for your Mother. I visited a number of care homes over a period of time before my wife came into St Cross, initially for respite care at the end of May, but has recently become a resident. The home was extensively refitted last year and reopened in August, and looks and feels like a high-quality hotel. But it is the
care that is important, and I am very happy and reassured that she is in good hands. Management and staff are all really empathetic, proactive and supportive. For example, I get an unsolicited update on how my wife is on the day, the moment I walk into reception. There is a family atmosphere within the home - across, residents, their family members and staff. Although it is early days, I feel confident she is in the right place.

A fantastic home that has given my mum comfort and security - and enabled her to feel settled and at home. She is on palliative care - but I'm certain the friendliness of the staff and the security she feels has helped to give her strength and keep her going - so we have been able to enjoy several happy
years visiting her and sharing meals and laughter.
I can't thank all the staff enough for all their hard work each day - and look forward to visiting. Set in such a beautiful location with amazing views - I know my mum feels very lucky to be there .
