A very dear friend of ours was transferred to Oak Hall after a long stay in hospital after suffering a stroke. The care she has received from the nurses, staff, care assistants, physio all I've seen by the General Manager has been wonderful. Her room and the entire home is always spotless and welcoming
and we've enjoyed joining our friend in several activities during our visits. The grounds are beautiful too. The food also always smells amazing!

We originally booked my mother into St. Cross for respite a year ago while we were on holiday, she really enjoyed the company and security so much, that she asked if she could stay! Which came as a welcome surprise to me and the family.
She still enjoys a certain amount of independence, choosing what
and where she eats, what activities she takes part in etc.
There's always a warm and friendly welcome from all of the staff when we visit and I'm pleased to say mum is still very happy a year on. All credit to the staff and management at
St Cross Grange.

Lincombe Manor home is a superb home. Great staff and manager. Sea views from windows and roof terrace. My mum has been here ten weeks and I have visited her every day. The nurses are very good, keeping you up to date on care given. The home enjoys fun activities. The food is freshly made and of a high
standard. Coffee and tea offered to guest. As a daughter I would highly recommend this home to anyone wanting a place for a loved one. They go above and beyond.

Excellent right across the board! Does this mean that Lincombe Manor is perfect? Of course not. Perfection is impossible, especially considering the ever changing requirements and issues associated with caring for the elderly. What I can say is that my wifes mother has been cared for with compassion,
dignity and dare I say it, even love by the staff at this really lovely facility. My wife and I have visited every day for the last nine weeks and have observed very speedy responses to all situations that have arisen and both staff and management have been really cooperative and communicative throughout. Plus, the food is great too. We thank all who work here from the bottom of our hearts.

My dad was taken into Lincombe manor in July 2025 directly from hospital.I felt very emotional and so thankful that we had been lucky to find such a wonderful place for my dad to spend his last days . Nicola and all her team were amazing All of the Nursing staff really took great care of my dad's
dignity and care and were so respectful , I thank them all for that. Sadly my dad passed away on the 13th of August . But the short stay he had in Lincombe manor was wonderful , as they always included my mother and always made her feel welcome . Thank-you all

My Dad was a resident for 6 months and was receiving end of life care. I visited approximately 30 homes in the process of finding somewhere for both of my parents, so I have a good idea of what's available. I have direct experience of another care home in Winchester, and the contrast is stark.
St Cross
is beautifully decorated and has zero atmosphere . Housekeeping and carers are wonderful. Reception ignore your arrival more often than they look up and say hello. The food sounds great on paper, but is overcooked. More specifically it did not meet my Dad's needs. The team appeared to be doing something about it only for me to have to repeat the same conversation mutliple times.
The leadership and lack of focus is what lets this place down, and the utter lack of empathy. Within an hour of being told of my Dad's death the nurse was chasing me about funeral plans at the direction of the General Manager. Incredibly insensitive treatment and I would not recommend this for your loved ones.

After suffering a severe stroke resulting in the loss of the left side of her body my friend of over 50 years was in need of a care home as she was about to be discharged from hospital. As a result of my partners father being a very happy resident for over 3 years at Oak Hall it was a no brainer to
put her there. During her time at Oak Hall she has made a remarkable improvement. The staff are superb, so friendly and attentive. My friend has said that she is very happy where she is and has remarked several times how nice the people are there. I'm extremely happy she is in Oak Hall and thank all the staff for their kindness and diligence.

On my visit (2 of us), drinks were left on the table, client unable to get to them. Client clearly lost weight, unable to feed herself, not sat positioned properly. Mouldy food found in room. Personal care obviously lacking, hair filthy, body very smelly (client apologised). Nurse bell left out of reach.

My mum came to St Cross Grange for end of life care. The admission process was straightforward and arranged promptly. She was made to feel at home immediately. Both my mum and her many visitors enjoyed the welcoming and calm atmosphere that prevails throughout the home. She felt very well cared for,
day and night ( night time cups of tea were very welcome!)She loved the food and the staff who took such trouble preparing it for residents. The catering staff also went out of their way to accommodate the dietary requirements of her visitors. The turn around time for laundry amazed her-usually returned the same day, and always with a smile and a chat from the domestic staff. She felt safe in the knowledge that when medical problems arose appropriate advice was sort and acted upon promptly. As family we too were made to feel welcome and part of the St Cross Grange community.
I know my mum would have no hesitation in recommending this home.
