Overall Experience

My mother has stayed at Lincombe Manor Care Centre twice this year. Firstly when she needed 4 weeks nursing care having been discharged early from hospital following a fall when she broke her leg.
The second time when she was moving house and needed two weeks care between selling and buying her new

home.
Both stays were exemplary. All staff were attentive, timely, very friendly and reassuring. The nursing care was thorough and sensitive to her needs. The staff were so welcoming and helpful to both mum and the family when necessary and we always felt that they had gone that extra step to ensure mum's comfort and safety.
I would recommend this Care Centre without hesitation.

Being resident in Spain, I don't get to see my aunt that frequently. Last time I saw her was in the winter of 2023. Sadly, since then, she has suffered a debilitating stroke and is now confined to a wheelchair. On a recent trip to the UK, I visited my aunt at Oak Hall and was delighted to see how well

looked after she was. From her comfortable room, to the glorious grounds and building, and, of course, the dedicated and caring staff, I was so impressed with Oak Hall. My aunt is clearly happy and at home at Oak Hall which is the most important thing. We were able to have lunch together in the Bistro which gave my aunt the feeling that she was in a top class hotel rather than a care home. Just to add, the food was of an exceptionally high quality; clearly homemade, healthy and well-balanced. I can't recommend Oak Hall enough, and being so far away from my aunt, I feel comforted that she's in such good hands. I would unreservedly recommend Oak Hall for anyone's loved one.

A very dear friend of ours was transferred to Oak Hall after a long stay in hospital after suffering a stroke. Excellent right across the board! Does this mean that Lincombe Manor is perfect? Of course not. Perfection is impossible, especially considering the ever changing requirements and issues associated with caring for the elderly. What I can say is that my wifes mother has been cared for with compassion,

dignity and dare I say it, even love by the staff at this really lovely facility. My wife and I have visited every day for the last nine weeks and have observed very speedy responses to all situations that have arisen and both staff and management have been really cooperative and communicative throughout. My Dad was a resident for 6 months and was receiving end of life care. I visited approximately 30 homes in the process of finding somewhere for both of my parents, so I have a good idea of what's available. I have direct experience of another care home in Winchester, and the contrast is stark.
St Cross

is beautifully decorated and has zero atmosphere . Housekeeping and carers are wonderful. Reception ignore your arrival more often than they look up and say hello. The food sounds great on paper, but is overcooked. More specifically it did not meet my Dad's needs. The team appeared to be doing something about it only for me to have to repeat the same conversation mutliple times.
The leadership and lack of focus is what lets this place down, and the utter lack of empathy. Within an hour of being told of my Dad's death the nurse was chasing me about funeral plans at the direction of the General Manager. Incredibly insensitive treatment and I would not recommend this for your loved ones.
