Oak Hall in Haslemere, Surrey, opened its doors to new residents in November 2018, following an extensive refurbishment. It offers luxurious surroundings for 55 residents, all of whom enjoy their own en-suite rooms. Some of the rooms can accommodate couples.

In keeping with other homes within the group, Oak Hall will deliver exceptional levels of care in convivial surroundings. Restaurant-style dining is a key feature, alongside a dedicated Health and wellness team who will be running a wide range of well being activities to keep residents active in mind body and soul.

Oak Hall will offer a range of care options: residential, convalescent, respite and specialist palliative care are all available, each with the aim of providing dignity and respect through programmes tailored to the needs of the individual.

Oak Hall lives up to its name with a large oak-panelled entrance hall; oak staircase and balustrading with many further oak features throughout the building. The original interiors of the principal rooms remain little altered: marquetry inlay to some floors, plastered ceilings, stone and marble fireplaces, marble floors, heraldic stained glass and tiled bathrooms.

Long-term nursing care - Respite Care - Convalescence following an operation - Specialist palliative care.

My mother resided at Oak Hall Care Home for seven years, during which time she was looked after with great care and compassion. She was one of the first residents and has sadly just passed away, but the staff of Oak Hall offered incredible support throughout. It was thanks to their timely call that
I was able to be with her as she left on her final journey, something for which I will always be immensely grateful. It is a truly beautiful building and my mother loved looking out of the windows at the trees and lawns, which was particularly important when she became immobile. Before that she could wander around and enjoy being in nature, it is always beautifully maintained. I could not recommend Oak Hall more highly, most of all for its incredible staff.
Reply from Jane McAuley, General Manager at Oak Hall Care HomeThankyou for taking time out to write a review. Your Mum has left such a large hole at Oak Hall she will be very greatly missed. She was the first resident I met when I joined the company and was always a pleasure to chat to. She loved her numerous daily walks whilst she was able and enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine. She will always be remembered with a smile on her face. Thankyou for writing such kind words.

Our mother needed urgent care after nearly a month in hospital. Jane and the team were amazing both in provision and their positive attitude. They knew our mother's needs to the point of telling us answers to questions we did not know to ask! They did everything possible for us, at incredibly short
notice, at a busy period to accommodate our mother and settle her in well. We visit daily and every staff member is exceptional. The atmosphere at the home is uplifting and this starts at the reception desk and extends to all the activities. Our mother is enjoying the multiple daily (3 a day!) activities, having lunch with people who she calls her new friends and taking in the beautiful surroundings. Our dog is enjoying our visits and being welcomed by residents. We are finding the care at Oak Hall exceptional. We cannot imagine our mother spending her close of life anywhere else.
Reply from Jane McAuley, General Manager at Oak Hall Care HomeThankyou for such a fantastic review. We always try to accommodate people at short notice. We understand how scary it can be for people not only to find accommodate but for the person moving in to make sure it is right for them. Your mother is such a sweet heart, she chats to everyone, enjoys the activities and the transition to care home life seems to have been so easy for her. Having family members that are so helpful also help with that. If we can work together it makes everything run smoothly. Thank you again for your review, I'm sure it will help other people in choosing a care home for their loved one.

We are so thankful that our mum was able to spend her final days at Oak Hall after a difficult final hospital admission and grateful to Jane and all the team for their care for her over the last four years. Oak Hall had become mum's home and we will look back fondly on memories of grandchildren playing
on the lawn during visits and family gatherings in the lounge. Jane, Dawn, Gabi, Rosemarie and Ramona were always so helpful and patient with mum's needs and gave her a new lease of life - encouraging her to get into her wheelchair and get her mobility back - after a long spell bed bound in a previous nursing home setting. Thank you all
Reply from Jane McAuley, General Manager at Oak Hall Care HomeThankyou for your lovely review. Mum was a major part of the home. She joined in everything we were doing in activities. She loved to be outside in the garden and on more than one occasion went further than she should have done. She was the life and soul at parties and always had nice things to say about the staff. Thankyou for taking the time to write a review for us, its so kind of you.

As I had not seen your client for two years it really was a lovely surprise to see her in such lovely surroundings. I was most impressed by the cheerfulness of all the staff and this was also evident when visiting my mother, who is clearly well cared for both physically and mentally.
Reply from Jane McAuley, General Manager at Oak Hall Care HomeI'm happy that you see the staff so cheerful when you visit, they certainly enjoy their work. Oak Hall is such a stunning building and the 25 acres it sits in is such a majestic setting in the Surrey Hills. We are truly spoilt with such a beautiful place to work. Oak Hall has been the full time care of my mother since November 2023. I live in Australia, and this is my first visit since she joined the team. Ma has been exceptionally well looked after. The staff are excellent. The venue is great. Ma is looking really well. When she arrived initially, she was very
unwell. She is now in great form. Thank you very much.

The staff are fabulous and provide outstanding care. The team is led by Dawn, Jane and Rosemarie. Each is outstanding in their own field. Above all, they care for all their residents.
I am in no doubt that my mother's quality of life is vastly improved by being in Oak Hall. Thank you.
Reply from Jane McAuley, General Manager at Oak Hall Care HomeThankyou for taking the time to write a reply. It was lovely to meet you on your trip this time. Being resident in Spain, I don't get to see my aunt that frequently. Last time I saw her was in the winter of 2023. Sadly, since then, she has suffered a debilitating stroke and is now confined to a wheelchair. On a recent trip to the UK, I visited my aunt at Oak Hall and was delighted to see how well
looked after she was. From her comfortable room, to the glorious grounds and building, and, of course, the dedicated and caring staff, I was so impressed with Oak Hall. My aunt is clearly happy and at home at Oak Hall which is the most important thing. We were able to have lunch together in the Bistro which gave my aunt the feeling that she was in a top class hotel rather than a care home. Just to add, the food was of an exceptionally high quality; clearly homemade, healthy and well-balanced. I can't recommend Oak Hall enough, and being so far away from my aunt, I feel comforted that she's in such good hands. I would unreservedly recommend Oak Hall for anyone's loved one.
Reply from Jane McAuley, General Manager at Oak Hall Care HomeThankyou for writing such a wonderful review. Reviews such as this help other people make decisions about moving into long term care which is never an easy decision. Your Aunt has settled in so well and is enjoying the activities and the food and is making good progress with physiotherapy. Its a pleasure to have her with us to support her recovery and to reassure all her family that she is being taken care of. thankyou

A very dear friend of ours was transferred to Oak Hall after a long stay in hospital after suffering a stroke. The care she has received from the nurses, staff, care assistants, physio all I've seen by the General Manager has been wonderful. Her room and the entire home is always spotless and welcoming
and we've enjoyed joining our friend in several activities during our visits. The grounds are beautiful too. The food also always smells amazing!

After suffering a severe stroke resulting in the loss of the left side of her body my friend of over 50 years was in need of a care home as she was about to be discharged from hospital. As a result of my partners father being a very happy resident for over 3 years at Oak Hall it was a no brainer to
put her there. During her time at Oak Hall she has made a remarkable improvement. The staff are superb, so friendly and attentive. My friend has said that she is very happy where she is and has remarked several times how nice the people are there. I'm extremely happy she is in Oak Hall and thank all the staff for their kindness and diligence.

On my visit (2 of us), drinks were left on the table, client unable to get to them. Client clearly lost weight, unable to feed herself, not sat positioned properly. Mouldy food found in room. Personal care obviously lacking, hair filthy, body very smelly (client apologised). Nurse bell left out of reach.
No stimulation.

Excellent facilities, however the room of the resident could use more regular cleans. however due to his condition and hypersensitivity to sound, the cleaners cannot use vacuums. I would like them to instead at least clean with a broom and air freshener.
Reply from Jane McAuley, General Manager at Oak Hall Care HomeThankyou for your feedback. We try not to use air fresheners as they mask smells rather then dealing with the source. This resident does not like us using sprays in their room. We do deep clean the room on days that this resident is not in their room which is their preference. Thankyou for writing a review.

My father has been a resident at Oak Hall, Haslemere for two and a half years and just turned 100 yrs old. He has just celebrated with a lovely family party in one of Oak Halls lovely lounge areas. All guests were made to feel very welcome. The staff and carers go above and beyond for him and always
make time for him. The enviroment is pleasant and very convenient for me to visit as I live locally. His medical needs are well taken care of and he is still very mentally active and I'm sure his excellent care has assisted with this. They make him feel very special and he is never lonely when family members can't be there with him.

The team at Oakhall are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. The administrator kindly offered us the Library to host my father's 100th birthday with his extended family and friends (plus musicians). My mother spent several weeks here before she died. The welcome and care received by my mother was wonderful throughout the days and the nights. The Manager set the tone with enormous kindness, dignity, professionalism and organisation, that I related to as an ex Nurse. My fears about my mother dying
were addressed through conversations facilitated by the Manager, with the Macmillan Service and visiting GP - both of whom were wonderful too. Their guidance was followed by the Nurses - who were some of the most kind people I have ever met. Equally, the Carers without exception - were wonderful. Their patience, kindness and personal care of our Mum was everything that I could have hoped for.
My family and I visited most of the time and felt loved and cared for too. That's quite something; it was unexpected, beautiful, and reflected the best of human kindness in our troubled world.
All the staff at Reception had a friendly word as we walked passed them to get coffee.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 55 registered maximum number of service users is 11, which has been reached with 51 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
