My care home experience is very limited and I am here in respite care as a result of a serious fall in May last. In retrospect, I feel, to what I would describe as a 'medical hotel' better suited because of the emphasis on constant physiotherapy. Nevertheless, Oak Hall is very well managed and staffed, and has a very friendly and comfortable feel. I have been very well treated and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone in need of long-term care and effectively looking for a home. It feels very serene here in a beautiful setting. As you will see, the rankings given indicate high quality.
What a lovely review. Thankyou for taking the time and trouble to write a review for Oak Hall.
Very happy with everything.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so please you are happy with everything. Its a pleasure to have you as part of our family.
Highest compliments - Dad regularly thanks us for finding Oak Hall.
Thank you for such a wonderful review. We love having your father with us; he's a real character. Thank you for taking the time to write the review; it is very much appreciated.
As a long-term resident, I am very happy here. I am always very well looked after and the care is very well organised. The staff are courteous and do their best to meet all my requests. The food is mostly good but the quality of produce could do with some improvement. This and the shortage of staff is my only criticism. The rooms and grounds are excellent.
I am glad you are very happy at the home and that you are well looked after. The shortage of staff has been addressed through our extensive recruitment and sponsorship programme. This means we have all our own staff on-site without the need for agency. Thank you for your very kind review.
Well-tended.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Kind regards.
My mother has been in Oak Hall for over 4 years! She has been well cared for and enjoys the company. The food and her room are fine and she was here during COVID lockdown - which was really difficult for all of us. My mother always says, that if you have to be in a home, this is the best one!
What a lovely review. Covid lockdown was very hard for the residents I am so pleased she felt this was the best home to be in. She does have a lot of friends in the home. Thank you again for taking the time to write a review.
Thank you for everything you do, we really appreciate your support and love.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so glad you feel like we are all family. We try to make Oak Hall a family-orientated home so I'm pleased it also works for your family too. We love having Dad with us, he's a real character. Thank you again.
Very friendly and helpful staff, pleasant rooms and nice outlook.
Thank you for a lovely review. I am so pleased that the staff are friendly and helpful that is exactly how they should be. We have 25 acres of land so are very spoiled with our outlook. Thank you again for taking the time to write a review.
Medical help is excellent.
Thank you for your review. I am so pleased that we have been scored with five stars thank you so much. I'm happy that you are treated with the respect you deserve. Thank you again.
I have been a resident here for twenty months. I am very happy and comfortable with Oak Hall. Just one think I would mention in the response time to me pressing my room buzzer is not good - too long a wait.
Thank you for your very kind review. Sometimes we have a lot of people who call at the same time but I apologise if you have had to wait for someone to get to you. I am pleased you are happy and comfortable at the home. Thank you again for taking the time to write a review.
Staff go the extra mile. Very caring and understanding.
Thank you for your review. I'm thrilled that staff are so understanding and that they go the extra mile for you. It's so important that staff care and that you feel that, thank you again.
Very pleasant and helpful, friendly staff. Beautifully furnished lounges. Varied activities. Appetising food with choice. Organise outside hospital and physio appointments for you to remove anxiety. A nice place to be.
Thank you for your wonderful review. I'm so glad you enjoy the open spaces we have in our lounges and the variety of activities we provide. I know you say the food is lovely, thank you again.
Oak Hall Care Home has provided a safe and pleasant haven for my husband for seventeen months, for which I am extremely grateful.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is a pleasure to support your husband and to also see you every day, spending time with him in the home. Thank you, Jane.
On arrival, no interaction from manager, receptionist very nice. My mum is independent, just needed meals and eye drops, after cataract surgery, four times a day. My mum had to ask repeatedly for her eye drops, no set times were given. She wanted her meals in her room, they were cold, very poor amount and was often hungry. On one of the shifts, eye drops were given at 7 pm and then only a get of 1 hour, 8:20 pm! I have taken my mum out a week early as she was so upset. The manager was very dismissive. We were charged £3,000 for this poor care. Very dissapointed.
Thank you for your praise regarding the warm welcome you received from our reception team. I am sorry to read that Mum’s stay did not meet your expectations. Mum was prescribed eye drops 4 times a day which were given. Mum chose the times she wanted her eye drops. Whilst our nurses advised Mum to...
All staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Staff look after guests extremely well. Nurses are very professional and monitor residents daily. Meals are on time and provide daily choice. All arrivals comment on the lovely atmosphere on arrival. Very great range of activities, including exercise classes.
Thank you for your wonderful review. I'm thrilled that you find the staff extremely friendly and helpful and that guests are well looked after. I will pass on your comments that nurses are very professional and that you are happy that you are monitored daily, you are a pleasure to support. I'm also...
We thank you all so much for giving our father a wonderful place to feel safe and loved.
Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to have your father as part of our ever-growing family. It's so great when people, including relatives, feel at home with us. You are more than welcome to come and see us anytime, you will always be welcome. Kind regards, Jane.
We looked at a few homes, and this one ticked all the boxes. Rooms are beautiful, menus and food very good. Staff are helpful and pleasant, and there is a great activities schedule.
Thank you for your review. I am so glad you like the activity programme on offer at the home, our staff always try to incorporate a wide range of activities for everyone to join in with. Staff work very hard to make the home as pleasant as possible and the rooms beautiful. I'm glad we are able to tick all the boxes for you and happy that you are now part of our family. Kind regards.
My husband entered Oak Hall for two weeks of respite care. We were very pleased with every aspect of his stay. He naturally missed home but was extremely happy with his experiences. He came home in a better physical state than going in. We are grateful to all the staff for their care and profession. They were delighted to deal with him and us. It's a lovely building in a gorgeous setting. Hopefully, we will be able to repeat it.
Thank you for your review. Your husband was a delight to support during his very short stay with us; we almost kept him! He and you are welcome back any time at all; we hope you will both visit us again, as you are part of our ever-growing family now. We have a garden party on 5th August, please...
There is a good schedule of activities which energetic staff run and encourage participation, I feel my relative's communication and cognition have improved since they started living here eight months ago.
The food always looks good and the portion sizes must be sufficient as one relative is gaining weight. They both say they enjoy the food and there are plenty of choices and a good balance on the main menu, with additional options available.
The room is lovely with a great view. The only negative is that when things need fixing it sometimes takes a bit longer than expected.
I have worked in the NHS for thirty years and my overall opinion is that the staff are genuinely very caring and attentive to my relative's needs. As a result, although it was a big upheaval for them, they say they are very happy to be at Oak Hall Care Home. Thank you for your care.
Thank you for your review. Your relatives are a wonderful addition to our family and a pleasure to support. They really enjoy the activity sessions, especially the seated exercises. I am sorry you feel repairs take a bit longer than expected; sometimes, this is for sourcing parts. I am glad they are happy at Oak Hall and are enjoying the food. Thank you again for your review. Kind regards.
Oak Hall Care Home is always presented well and kept clean and tidy. The reception staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The staff/carers/nurses try and answer my questions and try to understand my worries and concerns. When they have time, they spend time listening and answering my questions. The variety of carers can be tiring to me as I have to keep explaining my needs. The food is very good and the addition of a drinks machine is good for my visitors.
Thank you for your review. All care homes have found it difficult to recruit staff recently. I am pleased to say we have taken on many new staff, who are currently going through the recruitment process and will join the team very soon. We also have a fantastic electronic care planning system, which...
