Parris Lawn is located in Ringmer, a pretty village just a few miles from the bustling town of Lewes in East Sussex. With a warm family atmosphere, highly trained staff are available to get to know residents individually offering the highest standards of residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and short stay basis. They’re only half an hour from the seaside towns of Brighton and Eastbourne, and they enjoy some beautiful views over the South Downs.

Parris Lawn is all about enjoying personalised care in luxurious surroundings. Living here is whatever your loved one wants it to be. They can fill their day with enjoyable activities, fine food and great company. Or if a quieter pace of life is more fitting, they can relax in the privacy of their individually-styled en-suite bedroom, or enjoy the view from the lovely gardens.

Meal times are a chance to get together with friends over a delicious home-cooked meal. The chef learns about your loved one’s unique nutritional needs and preferences and makes sure these are incorporated into the regularly-updated menus. They serve up three tempting meals each day and there’s always a wide choice of dishes, including lighter option, and modified dishes for residents who need a soft, fortified or diabetic diet.

Staff always make sure that people who are being nursed in bed, or who simply prefer one-to-one activities, get the quality time that they deserve, whether it’s reading or doing the day’s crossword.

My mother is very happy and content - this is the main thing for me.
I always receive a warm welcome when visiting. The home itself is kept to a high standard. The meals are cooked and presented beautifully, with residents' needs taken into consideration.

My husband came for 2 weeks of repsite care and Dad did not want to stay, but after a couple of days said he was staying. All the staff are so friendly to him, he feels safe and at home and loved. You are all so wonderful in your jobs and we get a very warm welcome when we arrive to see my husband.

The team continue to provide great care for my mother and ensure that she is comfortable. Everyone on the team knows my mother, she is now in her 5th year, and they take the time to speak to her or walk with her on her many trips around the home!
Communication from the nurses is clear and regular
when it's needed.
Food always looks great and plenty of it as well as regular drinks and snacks during the day.
Housekeeping again good communication when Mum needs something or I have forgotten to stock up on toiletries.
Overall feel my mother is well looked after and the home has genuine care/interest for her overall health and well-being.
The manager and management are very focused on feedback and always open to conversations if there are any queries or areas to be discussed.

My mum has been a resident of Parris Lawn for just over six months now and I am delighted to concur with all the other reviewers in complimenting the outstanding level of care and attention she has been consistently receiving from the team. As she suffers from advanced dementia and is generally bed-bound,
she is unable to fully benefit from some of the activities on offer but everything that can be done for her, given her condition, is consistently being done for her.
When she entered the home, she had taken a fall and was extremely frail and somewhat undernourished but the care she has and continues to receive has reversed much of this and she is now calm, content and, most importantly, safe!

My father has been a resident at Parris Lawn since mid February 2023 and is very settled and happy. He is a non-dementia resident. He made the move to Parris Lawn Ringmer from Dorset, so emotionally it was a big change for both him and our wider family. From the initial organisation of the move, to
settling him in and subsequent care, the staff at Parris Lawn have been attentive and kind. It happened that his first full day at Parris Lawn was his birthday with Parris Lawn staff making that a great first day with kind considerate touches, a present, card and cake. Regular staff at the care home have certainly got to know my father well and as a family, we are very relieved that he is now settled and safe. The Parris Lawn management staff have gone out of their way to reassure us and in particular support with the varying care system paperwork and associated funding applications. Without this professional guidance, I would have found all the ‘red tape’ extremely overwhelming. I am very pleased that my father is now living at Parris Lawn.

My wife is immobile and spends her time either in bed or in a wheelchair, being moved from and to the other by means of a sling. Because of her immobility, she has difficulty joining in activities arranged by the care staff and s a result she has become bored. The carers and the nursing staff are very
attentive and do their very best to provide for her needs and with their friendly approach manage to keep her reasonably happy.
I am pleased with the quality of care she is receiving.

Very caring approach. Both my parents moved to Parris Lawn in November 2022. They have been made to feel very welcome, as have I. My dad has recently had ten days in hospital. My mum and I are particularly grateful for the attention they have given her during this period.

My friend has been at Parris Lawn Care Home for some years now and appears to enjoy being in a safe, caring environment.
I cannot comment on food and drink as I am never present for meals however, the impression I have is of a varied, wholesome menu. I like to think I have an excellent relationship
with all staff that I come into contact with, indeed see them as friends who I know I can discuss any problems with.
There is an excellent activities schedule that my friend is always involved in and there is utmost respect for the care of the resident.
Overall I am very pleased my friend has Parris Lawn as her home.

Without fail, all the staff are kind and considerate to both my husband and all the visitors he has, and they are particularly kind to me. My husband enjoys the food, which is presented in a nice way to encourage eating. Parris Lawn is always very clean and welcoming.

The facilities are excellent. When there have been concerns they have been addressed. Staff are empathic and caring. The food provided is very good and a full range of activities are available for those residents that can participate.

My mum moved into Parris Lawn in August 2022, after her Alzheimer's had got to the point where it was too much of a struggle for her to live independently anymore.
I am so glad she did! It was always a worry when she was living independently whether something bad would happen, but now I have the peace
of mind of knowing she has 24-hour care. She seems to be settling in very well, and the staff all seem lovely. I feel she is in very safe hands. It's not easy looking after confused people with dementia, but the staff are clearly well-trained for it.
There is quite a fun-looking activities schedule. Sadly my mum's memory is so poor she can't ever tell me what activities she's been taking part in, but reports from friends who have been to visit and found her in the middle of them suggest that she's been enjoying them.

My Grandmother has recently moved into Parris Lawn. The process of finding the right care home was incredibly stressful having been to see so many. Some were just awful and some ok, but on walking into Parris Lawn for viewing we knew that it was the right one. Everything from the cleanliness to the
staff, to the meals, the activities (the list could go on) is fantastic. I especially like the fact that they have a private dining room which may be used by the whole family to visit their loved one and have a special meal. The manager and the customer relations advisor have made nan feel at home from day one. If I could make one (constructive) criticism, it would be that they made visiting times a little easier, I know some family members would struggle to visit as much as they would wish to when working full time so an evening would be lovely. However, I totally appreciate that it's tricky to accommodate everybody and when I did request to collect and take out nan after hours it was not a problem to the team at all.

I came for respite after a hip replacement and wanted to be cared for until I was confident that I would be safe and able to live alone at home again. All my hopes were met by staff at all levels and in all roles, who were caring, careful, gentle, considerate, sensitive and kind. My only (slight) criticisms
are that not all knew how to make a good cup of tea and that food was occasionally below the standard I expected.

Everybody was caring, the food was good, and there were activities every day. I felt settled straight away. There is nothing that I can say that wasn't good. The staff were helpful in everything, nothing was too much trouble for them.

Mum being cared for by the staff at Parris Lawn meant that we were able to go away and enjoy our holiday without any worries and have a real break. Mum text me whilst I was away to say how much she was enjoying her stay and said that nothing was too much trouble for anyone and everyone was very kind.
Mum especially enjoyed the social activities, animal therapy, trip to the beach, theatre group and parties. Mum enjoyed the food, and the environment lifted her appetite which was pleasing to see. Mum's medication was safely managed, and the manager provided insightful information on settling mum back at home following her respite and managing her care going forward.

My career in nursing began over ten years ago in Romania, where I worked in various healthcare settings.


The rigorous curriculum and hands-on clinical experience provided a solid foundation for my nursing career. After relocating to the UK in 2015, I joined a great team of nurses and senior nurses and developed my skills further before starting as the Deputy Manager for Parris Lawn.


Throughout my career, I have been committed to continuous professional development, ensuring I stay current with best practices and innovations in healthcare.


With a significant portion of that time dedicated to elderly care, it’s provided me with the experience of being able to understand our residents' unique needs and challenges.


Choosing to work with Caring Homes was an easy decision, and it was because of its strong commitment to delivering exceptional care and its reputation for fostering a supportive and positive work environment. The company’s values align with my dedication to providing compassionate, high-quality care and I was particularly impressed by their focus on continuous improvement and innovation in care practices.
