I came to the care home for recovery and respite from a replacement hip operation on 14/1/26 for 2 weeks and 3 days. I needed to work on my exercises to improve the muscle strength around the hip. I was on the dementia floor, but I did not mind this, as I was there to do "my own thing". It was a pity the care home had an outbreak which prevented full use of the bistro area of the home, but I consider this fortunate, I was in the isolated upper floor, since I did not catch it. All the staff were friendly, considerate and helpful, and the respite has prepared me well to look after myself at home. I can recommend this home.
Dear R,
Thank you very much for your lovely feedback. We're so pleased to hear that your stay supported your recovery and helped you feel confident returning home.We truly appreciate your understanding during the outbreak, and we're glad you remained safe and well. Your kind words about our...
The staff, notably Hayley and Donna were absolutely marvelous. Both members of staff contacted me and kept me updated regarding his care and plan.
I didn't want him to go to hospital because I believe the care the staff are able to provide at Portsdown would be much more beneficial to anything the hospital would be able to do.
I wanted him kept safe and comfortable.
This is what they did and did it well.
I have nothing to say but thanks to all involved with looking after my dad.
Dear K D, thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. Your kind words truly mean a great deal to us.

From the moment we stepped into the home, we felt that we were in a comfortable environment where the residents are treated as an individual. Each room is designed differently. The food for residents and visitors is excellent. The hospitality from the team is truly exceptional. There is choice with everything from decor to food to entertainment. The resident is truly independent and they are able to show hospitality with family and friends. The wine!! Delicious. Helathy choice in food. All the managers are kind and very approachable. Thank you for everything. Well done! PS Difficult to get in at times, problem with doors.

Pippa's journey in the health and social care sector began at the age of 18 when she commenced her Registered Nurse training at United Bulawayo Hospitals in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. In 2002, she transitioned to the UK, where she furthered her career in Leadership and Management, bringing with her a wealth of experience and unwavering dedication. Pippa’s skill set as a Registered Nurse will undoubtedly help to further support some of our residents.
Pippa is deeply committed to ensuring the highest quality of life for each resident she cares for. She aims to create an environment that genuinely feels like home, extending her passion for person-centred care not only to the residents but also to their families.

I have developed extensive experience in my role as a Deputy Manager, where I have been responsible for supporting the overall day-to-day running of the service while ensuring the highest standards of care are consistently delivered.

My responsibilities have included handling inbound and outbound calls, coordinating assessments, managing follow-ups, as I take pride in building trust, actively listening to individual circumstances, and providing clear, supportive guidance on care options

I have worked in the care sector for the past ten years, having previously worked in or been involved in the construction industry. I have been working for Connaught Care since May 2023 and I am enjoying the challenges and comradery that working with a new highly motivated & dedicated team brings.

I have had over 2 years of experience in the hospitality industry. From working in Hotel Hospitality to the care sector.

I love making residents look good, also making them feel totally relaxed and pampered at all times.
