Ridgewood Court is a modern home where the dedicated team provides high-quality residential, dementia care and respite care breaks.

With beautifully decorated, spacious bedrooms and walk-in wet rooms, there are so many fabulous spaces for the residents to enjoy.

But it’s the team which makes this home, run by not-for-profit provider Sanctuary Care, really special. They are passionate about Sanctuary Care’s vision of Enriching Lives, based on the six senses people need to feel happy and fulfilled – a sense of security, belonging, continuity, purpose, achievement and significance.

Residents are actively involved in how the home is run, including deciding what fruit and vegetables to plant in their miniature allotment plot in the garden. They love to grow their own and pick the produce, which the chef uses in the kitchen. Some of the residents help to look after the home’s chickens, the eggs again being used in the kitchen.

The home has its own Resident Ambassadors, who do everything from interviewing potential staff to providing feedback on everything from the activities to the menu.

Animals are a special part of the home. As well as chickens, there is an aviary in the garden, built especially for one of the residents, who didn’t want to leave her birds behind when she moved in. There are also guinea pigs and regular visitor, dog Eddie.

Ridgewood Court is a stunning modern home, with a cinema room, with a popcorn machine and even a sweet trolley. They also enjoy lots of other activities, from gentle exercise sessions and music, to cheese and wine evenings. There is also a hair and beauty salon, a vintage tea room, a garden room and beautifully furnished lounge and dining rooms, where residents enjoy delicious home-cooking.

The gardens, which also have raised planters, are surrounded by wheelchair-friendly pathways.

Mum lived at Ridgewood Court for the final few years of her life and passed away on October 31st.
These were very happy years during which she - and our family - received outstanding care and love from the manager and her wonderful team.
We loved our mum so much and I truly believe the team at Ridgewood
Court did too. We are incredibly grateful for everything they did for our lovely mum and cannot recommend them highly enough.

The friendly and relaxed atmosphere at Ridgewood Court creates an environment for residents to feel comfortable in and it's lovely to see staff and residents, and the families of residents, all getting along so well together.
The staff are very kind and go above and beyond to help residents with both
their physical and emotional needs. They take great care to assist residents individually with their likes or dislikes and hobbies or interests. I am glad I chose Ridgewood Court for my mum.

A carefully designed building os a great asset but is nothing if not staffed well. This home has an excellent and caring management team whose prime purpose is to make residents feel at home. This influences all the staff, receptionists, team leaders, care workers, cleaning, catering, maintenance and
activity coordinator. All are professional but also have shown friendliness, kindness and thoughtfulness to my husband. they have made me feel very welcome as I have spent much time here supporting my husband.

The care for my mum has been brilliant. All staff, (carers, domestic) always stop and say hello to Mum and have a little conversation. The cares are very kind and treat Mum in a lovely, caring way, as if it was their own Mum and give her dignity and respect. The rooms are kept clean and homely - so
overall, very good. Residents also get good food and try and cater to individual needs.

Our much-loved Grandma lived here for two years before passing peacefully this month. We couldn’t say enough positive things about Ridgewood - the team is amazingly caring to not just the residents, but to their loved ones too. Our Grandma was treated with professionalism, care and dignity throughout,
and we were always sure she was in a safe, clean, comfortable and loving environment.
From offering her, her favourite food (mussels) to finding the time to play chess with her - we couldn’t have asked for a better place for her.
We have direct experience of many other homes, and without doubt, this surpasses them.

My mother is currently a resident at Ridgewood Court Care Home. It was such a difficult decision for me and my family to make, to hand over the care of our precious mum. I can not recommend the home enough, she is showered with tender love and care on a daily basis, in a beautiful and homely environment.
The care is truly person-centered, and the level of dedication from the manager and her team is outstanding.
We simply cannot thank the home enough.
The food is delicious with plenty of choice. The home is immaculately clean and well maintained. From the bottom of our hearts thank you team Ridgewood.

My dad seems to be very happy while he stays at Ridgewood Court.
He says that the staff are all very good, the good is lovely and his room is comfortable.
When we collect him from his stay the staff are so friendly and we know that we would be comfortable in arranging respite care for him again in
the not too distant future.

My friend is very happy in this home and has her needs met and is well provided for. Staff are caring and attentive. The care is generally very good although from a resident's point of view there is room for improvement in some areas. I am always disappointed when I arrive to visit, as I remember how
well the grounds outside were laid out and now they just get 'maintained'. It would be more pleasant to see it cared for too.

Mum spent the last 3 years at Ridgewood Court when she needed more help than her family could provide. Mum passed recently, during her stay and towards the end, she was treated with care and dignity by Ridgewood care staff members, all her wishes were complied with by staff. Mum's funeral was well attended
by staff to which family and friends were warmed by the caring nature of staff.

Thank you to the manager and her team for looking after my lovely dad during the last phase of his life. He loved living at Ridgewood where he felt safe, secure, loved, treated with dignity and well looked after.
Ridgewood is a beautiful home, not just in terms of bricks and mortar and facilities,
but more importantly in terms of the quality of care and love given by every single person working within the home. As soon as you walk in you can feel the loving, friendly atmosphere which is so very special.
I feel so lucky that dad was able to call Ridgewood his home - so many other places I visited in my search for the right home were soul-destroying. Everyone is fantastic and the support that I have had during this awful pandemic has been wonderful. It has been exceptionally challenging but everyone has worked tirelessly to ensure the comfort, well being and safety of residents.
I cannot thank you enough - you have all been wonderful.

I cannot speak highly enough about the exceptional care received by our father during the last ten months. The pandemic made visiting difficult, but we were well informed about his care and the team made great efforts to ensure we could see him as often as was practicable. Unfortunately, he passed away
recently but the compassion and empathy of the staff were exemplary. The staff have truly put the real meaning of care into their daily practice and we are so lucky that we entrusted the care of our precious dad to such a great team of people.

My friend arrived at Ridgewood Court on 7th August 2020, who wasn't in the best of health. After a couple of months with the great support of the staff, she has settled in and is enjoying the care and love that all the staff provide. It has been difficult throughout the year with Covid, but at no time
have the staff failed to give 100% to the residents and families, always lovely on the phone and a face to face visit. The manager has been very supportive to me with a few problems I had over the last few months, to which I am grateful.

Having experienced Ridgewood Court from day one, as my mum was the first resident in 2 and 1/2 years ago; I can honestly say that we have joined a family and despite some hiccoughs along the way, my mother has thrived in the care of wonderful staff and management. Covid-19 has been an experience that
none of us could ever have imagined, and with no precedent for this, the staff have gone above ad beyond in their efforts to comfort, entertain and reassure all concerned. Well done Ridgewood Court for you valiant work. We have lost many lovely people too soon, but carrying on their memory will help those still with us, and future residents to come.

Ridgewood Court is absolutely brilliant. The care and support is exceptional. The manager and the management team are truly amazing, as are all of their fantastic staff. We feel so very lucky to have Mum in such a wonderful place. They are all very helpful, very kind and incredibly caring. They are
an extension of our family. We feel truly blessed to be a part of the Ridgewood family.
The rooms are beautiful with an en-suite wet room. There are additional bathrooms if preferred. It is very bright, pleasant and immaculately clean. There are lots of activities to do. These are great fun and very enjoyable and popular. The residents love them. The food is gorgeous. The head chef and his team take real pride in their work. They make delicious meals for the residents to enjoy.
Team Ridgewood, you are the very best that there is. We wish that we could give you all a medal for services above and beyond the call of duty, for a job more than well done. A truly heartfelt thank you. You have everything to be proud of. We love you all.

We have reviewed most areas as good, as unfortunately during June, the premises were in lockdown. Mum has particularly mentioned how much she has enjoyed her meals, so we have marked as excellent. We do understand that the period has been very difficult for all staff and management and are grateful

I know that my Dad is cared for to the highest standard by staff that listen to him and understand him. They do everything they have to do with a sense of humour. Lockdown has been incredibly hard for all the staff and families and we are so grateful for all their support and hard work.

I visited about 20 homes before I selected Ridgewood Court, and my reason was the atmosphere. Every time I go there, everyone is chatting; both staff and residents. The home has a happy buzz, and that's so rare. I want my dad to live in a place where he can engage with others or simply watch what's
going on. A year on, he tells me "it's lovely here". This gives me exceptional peace of mind.

Being in reception is the main focal point of the home, therefore I see a lot of people coming and going throughout the day. Residents and their families are a big part of why I still enjoy doing what I do.
