Ridgewood Court is a modern home where the dedicated team provides high-quality residential, dementia care and respite care breaks.

With beautifully decorated, spacious bedrooms and walk-in wet rooms, there are so many fabulous spaces for the residents to enjoy.

But it’s the team which makes this home, run by not-for-profit provider Sanctuary Care, really special. They are passionate about Sanctuary Care’s vision of Enriching Lives, based on the six senses people need to feel happy and fulfilled – a sense of security, belonging, continuity, purpose, achievement and significance.

Residents are actively involved in how the home is run, including deciding what fruit and vegetables to plant in their miniature allotment plot in the garden. They love to grow their own and pick the produce, which the chef uses in the kitchen. Some of the residents help to look after the home’s chickens, the eggs again being used in the kitchen.

The home has its own Resident Ambassadors, who do everything from interviewing potential staff to providing feedback on everything from the activities to the menu.

Animals are a special part of the home. As well as chickens, there is an aviary in the garden, built especially for one of the residents, who didn’t want to leave her birds behind when she moved in. There are also guinea pigs and regular visitor, dog Eddie.

Ridgewood Court is a stunning modern home, with a cinema room, with a popcorn machine and even a sweet trolley. They also enjoy lots of other activities, from gentle exercise sessions and music, to cheese and wine evenings. There is also a hair and beauty salon, a vintage tea room, a garden room and beautifully furnished lounge and dining rooms, where residents enjoy delicious home-cooking.

The gardens, which also have raised planters, are surrounded by wheelchair-friendly pathways.

Thank you to all the staff for their kindness and compassion during this very unfortunate time. I appreciated the regular updates from the care home manager. When I phoned I was given any updates I required and also appreciated the information given from the GP who was wonderful.
My mother has been
a resident here since the home opened, I can only say it has gone from strength to strength due to the excellent staff lead by the manager. Thank you all.

Mum is a shy and timid little lady and was very apprehensive when she was admitted. She was made to feel so welcome by all the staff and to our surprise, settled in quickly. She loved 'her' room and was able to have all the things around her that made her feel comfortable. Her room was kept clean and
pleasant, just as Mum liked things. She was so comfortable with staff that she allowed them to assist with her personal hygiene! Staff have kept us very much aware of any health issues arising and were quick to deal with any problems. The staff are friendly, caring and compassionate. The home is beautifully appointed and we feel very lucky to have found such an excellent care home. Thank you to EVERYONE for caring at this extremely difficult time.

We moved my Dad here from another care home late last year and it’s the best decision we have made. All of the staff are friendly, caring and thorough and the standards of care have been brilliant.
Despite the insane situation we have all been in recently, Ridgewood have given their all into looking
after their residents. It’s been heartbreaking to not be able to visit my Dad as we are very close, but I take comfort in knowing that he is being cared for every day by the lovely team who are sacrificing a lot for our family and other residents.
A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you at Ridgewood, thank you for keeping my Dad as safe and as loved as possible, we are so grateful.
If you are considering this care home, rest assured it is one of the best. I’d highly recommend speaking with them and visiting - it’s clean, bright and run with efficiency.

My father moved to Ridgewood Court after a few weeks in respite care and the staff have helped him settle in very well. It is a very welcoming place to visit.

My mum has been a resident since July 2019. There have been a few initial problems with her settling in, but overall, everyone goes through this. As a family, we are very happy with how the home is run. The majority of the staff are excellent, with the minority improving. Continual improvement is in
evidence. Activities needed to improve, and the signs are very positive.

Initially seemed to be ideal, friendly staff, nice ensuite bedroom, satisfactory food, a good range of entertainments. However, security and attention to details are a problem, although understandable, eg. bedrooms open to all residents, hence things going missing or mysteriously appearing. Insufficient
care is taken when dressing the resident. Complaints noted and hopefully will be acted on. Early days yet and hopefully things will settle down long-term.

I think Ridgewood Court Residential Care Home is excellent. It is a lovely care home. The staff are caring.
The first time when I went, I was blown away. I am so glad my brother is in the care home. He has settled in lovely.

Very hard working and pleasant staff try to make the residents as comfortable as possible. The property is very bright and gives an airy feel. Sometimes things aren't right, (especially on the dementia floor which my mum is on), but I'm not sure that they can be improved on, as it's the nature of the
residents' illness that causes most of the problems.
Updates could be given to relatives a bit more frequently.
Would like residents to be taken out regularly.

When my dad went into Ridgewood Court, of course, we were worried that he might not settle. But with the care, love and nurture of this fantastic team, we could not have asked for more. Both male and female staff members went above and beyond there call of duty, and it is them that carried the smooth
running of the home.
The leadership of the manager was not the most pro-active, but this has been rectified with a new leader who I cannot fault.
Dad was happy, cared for and loved and if his circumstances had not changed I would not have even considered a move to another home, but he now requires EMI nursing care and a more 1-1, so it was with a sad heart that we had to re-locate dad.
I would 100% recommend this wonderful care home.

As a family, we would like to acknowledge the wonderful care and attention to our father. You all show such compassion and commitment to the provision of quality care, particularly at times when he can be more challenging and difficult when he is agitated and unsettled. You all seem so professional
in your handling of these situations using talking therapies to help him relax.
We would like to mention the welcoming staff at the door and the carers and seniors who work on the first floor where my Dad is, we very much appreciate you all including the activities co-ordination. Well done to you all.

My sister became a resident at Ridgewood Court in April 2019. Previously she had been looked after for 2 years by the family but we could cope no longer. She has settled happily in her new home, is eating properly, sleeps well and greets her visitors with a smile and rarely complains. She spends a lot
of time socialising in the lounge, goes to singing in the local Church most weeks but I think she would enjoy more of the activities provided if only she could remember to go!

I have been a regular visitor at Ridgewood Court for many months. From my first visit, I have always been welcomed with a friendly face. The home is absolutely beautiful (more like a hotel), staff always available and residents happy and obviously well cared for.
I have visited a few nursing/residential
homes in my capacity as a volunteer/befriender and Ridgewood is definitely top of the list!

In general, I am very satisfied with Ridgewood Court. On very many occasions, at various times of day when I arrive, there are 4 or 5 carers sitting around a table whilst a number of residents are sitting on their own, staring into space. I feel sure that some of those residents would benefit from the
stimulation of a conversation with one of the carers.

We have found Ridgewood extremely satisfactory. The care staff are extremely pleasant and friendly and provide top quality care. Likewise, reception staff are very helpful and welcoming and any issue/request is dealt with efficiently and in a very friendly way. As a relative, I feel I can approach them

Being in reception is the main focal point of the home, therefore I see a lot of people coming and going throughout the day. Residents and their families are a big part of why I still enjoy doing what I do.
