Ridgewood Court Residential Care Home

My friend arrived at Ridgewood Court on 7th August 2020, who wasn't in the best of health. After a couple of months with the great support of the staff, she has settled in and is enjoying the care and love that all the staff provide. It has been difficult throughout the year with Covid, but at no time have the staff failed to give 100% to the residents and families, always lovely on the phone and a face to face visit. The manager has been very supportive to me with a few problems I had over the last few months, to which I am grateful.

Team Ridgewood, you are the very best that there is. We wish that we could give you all a medal for services above and beyond the call of duty, for a job more than well done. A truly heartfelt thank you. You have everything to be proud of. We love you all.

We have reviewed most areas as good, as unfortunately during June, the premises were in lockdown. Mum has particularly mentioned how much she has enjoyed her meals, so we have marked as excellent. We do understand that the period has been very difficult for all staff and management and are grateful for the support and care Mum has received.

Mum has been at Ridgewood Court for fifteen months and in that time, her health and well being has stabilised. We find her happy and content.

I know that my Dad is cared for to the highest standard by staff that listen to him and understand him. They do everything they have to do with a sense of humour. Lockdown has been incredibly hard for all the staff and families and we are so grateful for all their support and hard work.

Ridgewood Drive is a wonderful, friendly, happy, comfortable home for my mother-in-law. The qualities of care and dedication of all the staff in every department have been outstanding, especially at this very testing time. We can never thank you enough for the care you have given all the residents, especially our loved one, who we have missed so much.

My mum died last night. You cared for her brilliantly. Thank you so much for all your help over the past couple of years.

I visited about 20 homes before I selected Ridgewood Court, and my reason was the atmosphere. Every time I go there, everyone is chatting; both staff and residents. The home has a happy buzz, and that's so rare. I want my dad to live in a place where he can engage with others or simply watch what's going on. A year on, he tells me "it's lovely here". This gives me exceptional peace of mind.

With the strange times we all find ourselves in at the moment- I would like to say how marvellous the staff are and how well they have dealt with the situation. As we have been unable to visit, they have made it possible for us to have FaceTime visits, which have been of great comfort to us as a family and to my mother also. The staff are so genuinely loving and caring to our mother, it gives us peace of mind whilst not being able to have our daily visits with her. Grateful thanks to all of the staff for just being there and caring.

My mother has been a resident here since the home opened, I can only say it has gone from strength to strength due to the excellent staff lead by the manager. Thank you all.

Mum is a shy and timid little lady and was very apprehensive when she was admitted. She was made to feel so welcome by all the staff and to our surprise, settled in quickly. She loved 'her' room and was able to have all the things around her that made her feel comfortable. Her room was kept clean and pleasant, just as Mum liked things. She was so comfortable with staff that she allowed them to assist with her personal hygiene! Staff have kept us very much aware of any health issues arising and were quick to deal with any problems. The staff are friendly, caring and compassionate. The home is beautifully appointed and we feel very lucky to have found such an excellent care home. Thank you to EVERYONE for caring at this extremely difficult time.

If you are considering this care home, rest assured it is one of the best. I’d highly recommend speaking with them and visiting - it’s clean, bright and run with efficiency.

The wonderful staff have kept my Mum safe, happy and well-fed during this dreadful time. They have all gone above and beyond their normal duties. We as a family cannot thank them enough. God bless you all.

My Grandmother is being wonderfully cared for by the amazing team in what are such difficult circumstances for everyone. Thank you to everyone at the home for working so very hard to keep everyone safe.

The manager has endeavoured to keep us informed throughout the periods of lockdown at what was a particularly tragic time.

My father moved to Ridgewood Court after a few weeks in respite care and the staff have helped him settle in very well. It is a very welcoming place to visit.

My mum has been a resident since July 2019. There have been a few initial problems with her settling in, but overall, everyone goes through this. As a family, we are very happy with how the home is run. The majority of the staff are excellent, with the minority improving. Continual improvement is in evidence. Activities needed to improve, and the signs are very positive.

Initially seemed to be ideal, friendly staff, nice ensuite bedroom, satisfactory food, a good range of entertainments. However, security and attention to details are a problem, although understandable, eg. bedrooms open to all residents, hence things going missing or mysteriously appearing. Insufficient care is taken when dressing the resident. Complaints noted and hopefully will be acted on. Early days yet and hopefully things will settle down long-term.

It's a joy to visit my brother in such a lovely place.
