A lovely clean, spacious home (dementia care ground floor) with doors opening onto an enclosed garden with seating areas. Kind staff, hairdresser, chiropodist- excellent. Lovely modern bedrooms with all facilities. This is the ideal home for my elderly sister to end her days, being well looked after,
in a good environment.

We are fortunate that my mother has been a resident since the first few weeks after St Ives House opened. She has always been treated not just very well and very competently but also with great respect, affection and empathy, much more so than I have seen in any other care home. Hardly a day goes by
without her having a visit from at least one family member and none of us have ever seen any resident treated with anything less than respect, understanding and consideration for their circumstances. My mother's care plan has been thoughtfully adjusted as her physical and mental needs have changed, and the current management team, in particular, are impressively in touch with residents' (and staff) needs and well-being. We are so glad my mother is able to live here.

My dad has received such great care and attention to all his needs. All the staff are so attentive. The food is very well presented, with lovely homemade cakes in the afternoon. It's nice that there is not a lot of staff changes, which shows good management. It's great that I can visit anytime. it is

This is a very well managed care home with excellent accommodation and facilities. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. The Manager and his assistant are always willing to discuss any concerns and if slight adjustments in the care provided are necessary
they are done in a pleasant manner. One is not made to feel uncomfortable about discussing the changing needs of the resident. I would liken St Ives House to a well run 5-star hotel and having visited many such establishments, this is the one I would choose for my wife and I should the need arise.

If mum's happy we are all happy, this home is very well managed and the carers are so supportive, kind and caring towards mum. I think mum feels like they are all her family which is a lovely comforting thought, the activities have greatly improved and are more regular and engaging. I'm glad I moved
mum there 2 years ago and enjoy my visits to see her and all the residents. There is always plenty of areas to spend private quality time away from other residents if you just want to sit alone with your relative or just potter around together looking and watching the wildlife. Lovely setting.

The staff are always friendly when we visit. Have been through a lot of changes in the two and a half years that my mother has been a resident. Since the new manager, there have been massive improvements all round.

My father was well looked after and treated with respect. The staff were very caring and genuine. They were friendly to myself and dad's other family member, as was reception and office staff and particularly the new manager. His accommodation was exceptionally clean and the home and gardens are also

When needing an urgent respite placement the managers and staff at St Ives were first class. Once contacted they completed their initial assessment within two hours and the placement was agreed and the client was moved in that afternoon. On arrival, the staff could not be more helpful. The home is
situated in beautiful surroundings and is well maintained and spotlessly clean.
The staff all are dedicated, friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble day or night.
There is a wide range of meals and drinks. The activities are varied and enjoyable.

We are absolutely delighted by the progress our dear friend has made since taking up residence at St Ives House in late 2017.
Her quality of life and her health have greatly improved and she enjoys partaking in all the various activities that St Ives offers. She has made new friends and feels very
much "at home". Both management and staff are professional, kind and friendly and treat all residents with dignity. The standard of care is excellent.

Staff are friendly and kind, the home is light and airy, well laid out and with nice furnishings. Food is very good with great variety, the food is shown to the residents so they can select, rather than picking from a list. Nice cakes in the afternoon with tea.


Entertainment previously lacking but

much improved now. Will hopefully get even better, with more trips out etc.

Having visited a few other care homes for comparison, St Ives is a breath of fresh air! The staff are delightful, helpful, extremely friendly and very professional. Nothing is too much trouble and as a visitor, it feels like a very caring place for a loved one to be looked after.
The building may be
brand new, but the team all know each other of old and this shows in the atmosphere.

Since new manager took over early June 2017 St Ives House my overall marking for this home has gone from a 05 to + 08. My husband has been an inpatient since February 2017. In August this year until September 2017 I was out of the UK I asked the manager to keep an eye on my husbands "overall" care.
On return, I found him very happy and well cared for. The manager's overall awareness is "spot on" and clever. 9/10

Job Title: Home Manager

I’m Emma and I’m the very proud manager of St Ives House. I have worked with Care South for over 20 years, managing a number of their care homes in Dorset. My earliest memories of wanting to be a carer come from my childhood; Mum was a carer and it was great meeting her colleagues and being there with the residents.


I believe in a loving, caring environment for our residents; there is nothing better than spending my days with them and hearing about their life experiences, they constantly amaze me. I love my job because no two days are the same at St Ives House.
