We have been very impressed with the level of care shown to my mother since arriving at the home. All staff are extremely considerate and have gone out of their way to help my mother settle in. The care manager is very friendly and helpful and has been instrumental in our choosing this home and making her feel very welcome!

I cannot recommend St Ives Care Home highly enough. I have absolute confidence that my Mum is cared for with kindness and compassion and have no worries about her continued welfare. She has settled in so well, due in no small part to the high standards of this care home. I am very happy that she is living here.

A comfortable, safe and secure environment for my mother. Staff are always on hand and are friendly, kind and reassuring. There is a very calm atmosphere in the home but at the same time offering a range of activities to keep residents engaged and occupied.

My father was welcomed here just before Christmas and has remained for several weeks while my mother was in hospital. She has now been able to join him while she recovers.
All inside areas of the home are spotlessly clean, beautifully coordinated and decorated and the rooms are warm and comfortable with en-suite facilities.
The manager is very approachable and extremely helpful, nothing is too much trouble. All the staff are friendly and caring and the residents are treated with respect and patience. During his time in there my father has improved, he is encouraged to be more mobile and has interaction with other people. My mother has now settled in and is enjoying being looked after. The quality of the food is excellent with a variety of meals always on offer.

I am very happy with the care that they have received and the progress that my parents have made during their stay.

Excellent. Mom settled in very quickly and calls St Ives "her 5-star hotel"! I know she is being well taken care of and this is very important because I live abroad permanently. I am updated regularly on her well being, behaviour and medication. I was also lucky enough to enjoy the lovely Christmas party St Ives arranged for its residents and their families. It was so nice to see Mom happy and cheerful. This also gave me a chance to speak to other residents' family members and everyone was full of praise for St Ives. Thank you.

A lovely clean, spacious home (dementia care ground floor) with doors opening onto an enclosed garden with seating areas. Kind staff, hairdresser, chiropodist- excellent. Lovely modern bedrooms with all facilities. This is the ideal home for my elderly sister to end her days, being well looked after, in a good environment.

We are fortunate that my mother has been a resident since the first few weeks after St Ives House opened. She has always been treated not just very well and very competently but also with great respect, affection and empathy, much more so than I have seen in any other care home. Hardly a day goes by without her having a visit from at least one family member and none of us have ever seen any resident treated with anything less than respect, understanding and consideration for their circumstances. My mother's care plan has been thoughtfully adjusted as her physical and mental needs have changed, and the current management team, in particular, are impressively in touch with residents' (and staff) needs and well-being. We are so glad my mother is able to live here.

My dad has received such great care and attention to all his needs. All the staff are so attentive. The food is very well presented, with lovely homemade cakes in the afternoon. It's nice that there is not a lot of staff changes, which shows good management. It's great that I can visit anytime. it is a lovely clean open home. Thank you to you all.

This is a very well managed care home with excellent accommodation and facilities. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. The Manager and his assistant are always willing to discuss any concerns and if slight adjustments in the care provided are necessary they are done in a pleasant manner. One is not made to feel uncomfortable about discussing the changing needs of the resident. I would liken St Ives House to a well run 5-star hotel and having visited many such establishments, this is the one I would choose for my wife and I should the need arise.

If mum's happy we are all happy, this home is very well managed and the carers are so supportive, kind and caring towards mum. I think mum feels like they are all her family which is a lovely comforting thought, the activities have greatly improved and are more regular and engaging. I'm glad I moved mum there 2 years ago and enjoy my visits to see her and all the residents. There is always plenty of areas to spend private quality time away from other residents if you just want to sit alone with your relative or just potter around together looking and watching the wildlife. Lovely setting.

When needing an urgent respite placement the managers and staff at St Ives were first class. Once contacted they completed their initial assessment within two hours and the placement was agreed and the client was moved in that afternoon. On arrival, the staff could not be more helpful. The home is situated in beautiful surroundings and is well maintained and spotlessly clean.
The staff all are dedicated, friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble day or night.

There is a wide range of meals and drinks. The activities are varied and enjoyable.

We are absolutely delighted by the progress our dear friend has made since taking up residence at St Ives House in late 2017.
Her quality of life and her health have greatly improved and she enjoys partaking in all the various activities that St Ives offers. She has made new friends and feels very much "at home". Both management and staff are professional, kind and friendly and treat all residents with dignity. The standard of care is excellent.

Thank you all so much.

Emma CottonJob Title:Home Manager

I’m Emma and I’m the very proud manager of St Ives House. I have worked with Care South for over 20 years, managing a number of their care homes in Dorset. My earliest memories of wanting to be a carer come from my childhood; Mum was a carer and it was great meeting her colleagues and being there with the residents.

I believe in a loving, caring environment for our residents; there is nothing better than spending my days with them and hearing about their life experiences, they constantly amaze me. I love my job because no two days are the same at St Ives House.
