The Fleet Care Home

The residents have access to craft workshops and other activities. On site hair dresser a couple times a week. Nothing is to much trouble for staff. Would highly recomend to anyone looking for a Nursing Home that The Fleet Dartmouth Devon is the place.

If I have to be cared for in my later years I want to live at The Fleet.

The home is very lovely and the staff are all very lovely too. They looked after my dad very well. Very attentive and accommodating. Excellent facilities and service. Great cakes available in the many tea rooms every day. Would highly recommend this care home. Think I will book myself a room for when I'm older.

My experience with the fleet care home was beyond expectations. I was always told I could revisit the home since my mothers passing and stop in for a coffee, and as my mothers passing was cremated and I have no grave to visit, not to sound morbid, I would like to thank the home greatly by recommending them to anyone in need of care, as their care to the residents and families nothing but genuine, as shown by their care to me even months after my mothers death. It would be unfair to mention that they always have cake ready for visitors and residents alike, and it is always fresh and delicious. Some honorable mentions are Kelly, ajith, Sam the receptionist, and Glenn the maintenance man, all who's friendly awareness of the situation and humour and effort helped make what was a horrible time more comfortable.

Five star care home, Friendly, caring staff. Food looks delicious! Very reluctant to send my husband into a care home, but the nurses are doing a good job.

The first thing I noticed on entering was the smell, a very clean and pleasant smell, a lovely lady sat at the reception that was happy to help, looking around and the decor is modern and very inviting, the staff are lovely, there are family areas for all as well as the garden to explore. The cafe is relaxing and inviting.

I would recommend The Fleet to any body considering care.

My wife's uncle Cliff has been staying at the care home since January and the care, facilities & staff are excellent. Nothing is too much trouble and when we visit we are made to feel very welcome by the staff. They have regular activities for the residents and even have a little coffee shop on the ground floor where the residents and visitors can meet for a drink and a slice of cake.

It's so great to see Cliff being so well looked after and I would 100% recommend this care home.

I call in at Fleet on a regular basis and have always found the reception staff especially very helpful and cheerful.

My uncle, for whom I have LPA for has been a resident of The Fleet for almost 12 months. Sadly his rate of decline due to his Alzheimer's makes each day different.

The McBride floor, dedicated to Dementia and Alzheimer's have to be congratulated on how they handle his ever changing moods and needs. No two days are the same and through their care and commitment they bring a sense of calm to his troubled mind.

I take my hat of to the team who care for him, they give him the best quality of care each day to ensure he feels safe and comfortable, even when his mind tells him otherwise.

I also understand that some days he hasn't had a shave, had a shower, but also know that if he refuses to do any of these things then its not up to the team to force him, its for them to show compassion and care. within a day or two hes back to accepting care again, thanks to the leadership from Sarah.

Very kind and caring atmosphere. The staff are excellent and food is very good. and different tastes are catered for.

The Fleet stands out on all levels. The environment is lovely, always clean and comfortable. Staff are so genuinely friendly and caring and the care and support is outstanding. It's so comforting to know my mum is being cared for so well. Its a process registering your parent into care, but The Fleet and staff here made it such an assuring process. Couldn't have asked for more.

My husband has received a high standard of care, delivered with kindness and good humour. He has had his needs dealt with appropriately. He is content, as his medication has been adjusted to make his life as comfortable and painfree as possible. All members of staff, carers, nurses and the doctor have worked together to achieve the best quality life for him. The atmosphere in all areas is friendly and supportive, and visitors of the resident are made welcome.

I visit my good friend (of 25 years) each week. Sometimes he is unshaven and unshowered and oddly dressed. I understand that he has the freedom to refuse help. I sometimes find it difficult to communicate with staff whose English is poor. Do you have a designated person assigned to be responsible for an individual? It might be helpful if the staff 'on duty' were not so often using their mobile phones. At times the noise level in the corridor is too loud. Generally the staff seem supportive and helpful.

My dad was a very challenging resident and the staff could not have been more kind, capable and compassionate. There is a great 'team' friendly staff vibe. The building and garden are very smart and modern with a light airy feel. The food was delicious! I would not hesitate to recommend The Fleet.

What a wonderful care home, friendly staff and so much to do with activities. The place is clean and tidy and lovely food. I find that the staff is excellent with the residence and nothing is too much trouble for them, the entertainment is fantastic, they always have something going on. The best care home I visit.

My mother was offered a place at the Fleet care home for respite care, but then didn't want to go back home. The facilities are a very high standard, but what stands out are the staff. There is a lovely friendly supportive atmosphere which you sense as soon as you walk in. Mum was made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The nurse manager was outstanding in looking after her and organised extra GP visits, home oxygen and complicated prescriptions which required considerable persistence. The care staff did an excellent job and were kind and thoughtful. I and my family were delighted that mum spent her last weeks in this home.
