I had the pleasure of visiting the fleet today twice and was made most welcome by friendly staff and good coffee and biscuits. All the residents we being well looked after and happy thank you for the pleasant atmosphere
Thank you for your kind review, we are really pleased you enjoyed your visits to the home.
I am so grateful to all the staff at The Fleet Care Home because they really are wonderful. They go out of their way to help my mother-in-law, who can be quite difficult at times, and show concern, patience, and respect in abundance. The social activities are most weeks and residents enjoy them all, there's a hairdresser which helps residents feel pampered. The meals are good and the tea trolley is very frequent. Cannot fault The Fleet Care Home at all.
Thank you, Margaret, for your lovely review, it is a pleasure to look after and support your mother-in-law. I will pass on your kind words to the team
My relative is a lot happier and healthier than she was before moving into the home. She is encouraged to join in activities as much or as little as she wishes. She loves the enclosed garden and the performances put on out there. The home is well-kept and doesn't smell. The carers and management team have always been helpful, despite being very busy.
This amazing home is a joy to visit when my family and myself come along to spend time with my mother, who has been a resident for the past 3 weeks. It is crucial that my mother has a home in Dartmouth so that we can visit her regularly
Thank you for your lovely review, we are pleased to be caring for your mum.
My wife came to The Fleet Care Home in December, she suffers from schizophrenia and her condition can be very challenging. I have been extremely impressed by the care she gets - every single member of staff is 100% committed to the residents' welfare and well-being, and there is a cheerful "can-do" attitude everywhere. The contact between the staff and myself has been wonderful with so much trouble taken to fully inform and involve me in her care. The events and activities are simply excellent with so many different things happening including visiting musicians which my wife particularly enjoys. There are spacious lounges, a small library, and an attractive dining room all of which overlook the lovely garden. Nowhere ever feels crowded, the general atmosphere is more like a good hotel than a care home. I count ourselves very lucky to have found The Fleet - it actually achieves what many care homes probably aim to do but fail.
Thank you Sandy for your kind review, we aim to do the very best we can for all residents. I am so pleased your wife is enjoying our activities programme.
It was with heavy hearts that we agreed for my father to go into nursing care at Fleet Care Home. He is dying of terminal cancer, but is amazingly bright and cheerful. The staff are so empathetic to his plight and ours. They make him smile and nothing is too much trouble, while at the same time being professional, which gives us confidence in their care. To visit Dad there is a pleasure, even in such emotionally charged times. The staff also want to know how we are managing too. My dear mum often on arrival is given a coffee and fresh biscuit, she also loves to be able to stay and have a meal with him. The building is very clean, modern and airy, we feel very fortunate that he is there.
Thank you for your lovely review, looking after Dad has been our pleasure. I will ensure this is shared with the team. Thank you again.
From the moment I arrived, I have been treated as if I were at home, with the utmost kindness. The staff have become my extended family and my wife, son-in-law, daughter and granddaughter are very impressed.
Thank you for your review, I will pass on your kind words to the team. The menu at the home is currently being reviewed and updated with foods that residents have chosen, so hopefully this will be more to your liking.
Maybe the meals could be improved though.
Hi Jan, thank you for your review and feedback. This has been shared with the team. The chef has been to see your partner and I know she has cooked him some of the things that he likes.
I can’t thank the staff enough for what they do for her. As relatives, we are always offered coffee and always greeted at reception with the friendliest welcome. Thank you!
Thank you, Samantha, for your wonderful review, we enjoy having your nan here and it is a pleasure looking after her. I will pass on your kind words to the team. Thank you again.
The staff and very caring and considerate. I have no worries whatsoever for my wife staying there. She's happy and safe and that's all I care about.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback, it is lovely to hear that your wife is happy and safe at The Fleet and that you have no worries about your wife staying at the home. Thanks again, Jo.
I am so glad my wife spent the last few weeks of her life at The Fleet Care Home. One way or another, I have experienced quite a few care homes. This was well up among the best. Above all, the wonderful, committed, friendly and enthusiastic staff made it work for us. They coped with what started as a short stay and turned into palliative care magnificently! Thank you.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, it was our pleasure to look after your wife. I will pass on your kind words to the staff team.
My husband is suffering from Lewy body vascular dementia, it's all not at all easy for any of us now. Your home has been amazing, so very kind and accommodating. To be part of your home is the best thing that's come out of this horrible disease. Thank you. It's like being part of a warm and kind family.
Thank you, Di, for your lovely review and kind words.
My wife has been in Fleet care home for two years and seven months. All the staff treat her with the utmost care and kindness for which I am most grateful.
Dear James, thank you for your kind review. We really enjoy caring for your wife. I will ensure this is passed on to the team that look after her.
Lovely environment and caring staff who appear to be very well led. My father's care has been very good, individualised and empathetic. Mum is also now a resident and despite her dementia, has settled in quickly. We have seen some lovely examples of attention to detail and personalised care, for example, staff providing a decorated room for Mum's birthday celebration and enabling my parents to spend time together. Thank you!
Thank you for your lovely review Juliet, I will feed this back to the staff team. Thank you again.
I have been working with the team at the Fleet Care home for two years in support of my mother. I have found the overall experience one of support and collaboration where issues relating to my mother have been dealt with in a professional and empathetic manner. The whole team are easy to approach and always find a solution in support of my mother who is 91 years of age. The premises are always well presented and clean which is of great importance to my mother and of course to all of the people who visit. Keep going team and well done.
Thank you Peter for your kind review, your mother is a wonderful resident within the home and we really enjoy supporting her.
We find the staff friendly and helpful. They appear to put the residents' welfare at the centre of everything they do, whilst assisting families to navigate the system effectively. Reception are always upbeat and positive.
My mother has been safely cared for at Fleet for the last two and a half years. During Covid restrictions, the staff did their absolute best to maintain my contact with her through the use of FaceTime and phone which I appreciated greatly. Since the end of the pandemic, I have been able to visit very frequently and have always found Fleet very welcoming. Despite her severe dementia and occasional agitation, my mother has been kept safe, calm and cared for. She is still able to enjoy food and cups of tea so it is nice that tea is always on the go and that really nice meals are prepared on the premises. The atmosphere is a happy one and there are many many activities going on all the time for those able to participate. The staff are very friendly and approachable and very affectionate to my mother which has allowed me to feel much less anxious about this difficult stage at the end of her life.
Thank you Julia for your kind review, your mother is a joy to care for and it is our pleasure to look after her. I will pass your words on to the staff team who, I know will be touched.
My father was the first resident at The Fleet when it opened in April 2020. He was cared for especially well and the staff always went out of their way to make him feel loved. There were several touching moments in the last 30 months; one of the staff bringing in a toy dog which my father loved, and someone tickling his feet to bring a smile to his face, but the best goes to the staff that made the effort to go in at midnight on his 86th birthday to wish him a happy birthday, he passed away shortly after. The staff always took great care to make my father look well-presented and involve him in the planned activities. We had plenty of personal discussions around my father's care, so we were kept well informed. The reception staff also went the extra mile and made my mother feel very at home during the care home visits. In summary, the Care Home has a lovely atmosphere, it is extremely well presented and has the most wonderful staff.
Thank you Louise for your kind words, it was our pleasure to look after your father and he is very much missed. I will pass this on to the staff, who I am sure will be touched by this.
I find the home to be professionally run, very clean with pleasant staff. My client is happy and content with the way he is treated and spoken to. He enjoys the food and activities and is treated with dignity.
Thank you for your review and kind words. It is important to us that all residents are treated with dignity and respect. I am really pleased he enjoys his food and I will pass this on to our dedicated kitchen staff.
All care provided for my wife has been excellent. Always welcomed by reception staff and nurses and carers.
Thank you for your review, it is our pleasure to look after your wife.

My name is Gayle, and I joined The Fleet as a carer after moving to the area. I really enjoy looking after our residents and feel proud to make a difference every day, particularly in the Ramsay community, where I’ve built strong, trusting relationships with both residents and colleagues.

My name is Holly, and I am one of the Care Assistants here at The Fleet. After completing my degree in counselling, I realised I wanted to be more hands-on in supporting people. I have a real passion for resident care and love getting to know each person, helping them stay as independent as possible and live fulfilled, meaningful lives while always respecting their choices, dignity and individuality.

John started work at the Fleet in 2021 as the Maintenance Manager, he comes with a wealth of experience in this field.

Pammy is one of our Housekeeping Assistants at our home, and she is a massive part of making sure our home remains a tidy and safe environment. Pammy is known for taking time to speak to our residents and forming relationships with people new to our home.

Nick along with Sue runs the Laundry here at The Fleet Care Home in Dartmouth. Nick’s job is to ensure that not only is there plenty of bed and table linen and towels on all of the floors but also that all of the residents have their personal clothes washed and returned to them. It’s an important job and both Nick and Sue feel rather proud of their “part of the ship”, having it run really smoothly. When Nick isn’t collecting and distributing, he likes to try and find the time to stop and chat with our residents.
