One of the hardest decision to make for mum, but the easiest choice once I'd met Andrei and visited Valerian. With no previous knowledge of care homes I went purely on a gut feeling. In 2 days I visited 5 homes in Oxfordshire but knew the minute I was given a coffee, a quiet space and a box of tissues. Valerian has a warmth, a homely feel, authentic staff, genuinely hard working caring and accommodating with a light soul fuelled tenderness. And fun. So much laughter. Mum is back to her old self despite tough physical and mental constraints - but she feels safe. Part of a community. And so do I. They care as much about their residents as they do the families. I've seen mum gain confidence thro grief and if she is happy, then so am I. I can't recommend Valerian highly enough. Don't take my word for it, book a coffee and a meet and greet, you won't be disappointed!

I live here for 3 years now and I can call it home. The staff are wonderful so are the management team. I have the freedom to do what I want and there are also so many activities so can join in if I wish. The most important thing for me is that I feel safe here

It's a lovely well runcare home with activities every day for the residents and staff are all very kind I helpful I they have helped mum to settle in well. Home is kept very clean and the food is also fantastic - I was also offered drink and food whilst I was visiting. At moment she says she definately like to return for a respite unit.

Valerian Court Care Home provided outstanding care for my mother, who was a resident there from December '25 to January '26. Andrei and the team consistently went over and above while looking after Mum, making her short stay at the care home a comfortable and dignified one. Mum required specialist care, due to having a glioblastoma brain tumour, which provided it's own challenges, of which Valerian Court rose to each time. Furthermore, Andrei and the team were incredibly accommodating to family members, ensuring that we were made welcome during each visit and were always fantastic at keeping us updated with any changes in Mum's condition.

Twelve months ago I was faced with the unenviable and sad task of having to find Mum a safe, caring place to live. I, with my friend, visited several options locally in November 2024 and had decided that Valerian Court ticked all of the boxes and rated top of our list. We were welcomed immediately from that first visit until Mim was admitted as a permanent resident on December 23rd. The new manager & his deputy pulled out all the stops for me (as I live in Northern Ireland) for Mum to be able to start her next journey at Valerian Court and not be alone at Christmas, for that I will be eternally grateful. Since then Mum has been cared for with a caring, respectful & professional manner at all times with additional updates provided as and when needed. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.
