West Hill Care Home is a stunning, new, luxury-affordable care home in the heart of Dartford, Kent. The home provides person-centred residential, nursing, respite and dementia care. Their primary aim is to provide independence, dignity and care in a home designed with residents’ needs in mind.

The purpose-built home offers state-of-the-art facilities. Spread over four floors, with lift access, each resident has their own beautifully decorated bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. Each floor also has an assisted bathroom where residents can enjoy therapeutic colour and music as well as massage and aromatherapy.

Further facilities include an on-site hair salon with full hairdressing service, a treatment room and nail bar, and a vintage-style cinema. The home features several cosy dining rooms and lounges, with rustic fireplaces and their own lifestyle kitchens to support each resident to really feel at home and to maintain their personal independence. Here, residents can socialise and take part in the home’s busy schedule of activities and entertainment. As someone who lives out of town and cannot visit in person as often as I would like, finding a care home where my mum not only receives excellent support but feels genuinely cared for has been a blessing.
From the moment my mum settled into West Hill Care Home, we were immediately struck by the modern,
bright, and meticulously maintained facilities that feel just like home but thoughtfully designed for safety and comfort . However what truly stands out is the staff. Every staff member, from the reception and nursing teams, to housekeeping and management has treated my mum with unmatched warmth, kindness, and respect. Mum has only been at the care home for a short while but is settling in already, the staff are lovely and the activity schedule is full and varied. We feel so content that mum is being well looked after and would recommend the home to anyone.

My Brother was a resident at West hill care home for around 2 years, until his passing in April 2025. I made many regular visits to the home during that time. I always found the staff to be very caring to the residents, friendly and helpful. I also noted that there was always some kind of activity going
on at some point in the home, and the activity staff worked very hard at trying to engage the residents. The home was always very clean and the food always seemed good too. Because of my Brothers dementia it was always going to be distressing to visit him, but the home always done as much as they could to make my Brothers final years as good as they could be. Many thanks to everyone at West hill for that.

I cannot speak highly enough of the care my mum receives at Westhill Care Home. From the moment she moved in, the staff have shown her genuine kindness, patience, and respect. It is clear that every member of the team is dedicated not just to meeting the residents' needs, but to making them feel valued
and at home.
The staff go above and beyond, always taking the time to get to know my mum as an individual. They communicate openly with our family, keeping us updated and always making us feel welcome whenever we visit. Their warmth and professionalism have given us great peace of mind, knowing she is in such capable and caring hands.
The facilities themselves are modern, bright, and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and uplifting environment for everyone.

We are so grateful to the team at West Hill Care for the care, compassion, and dignity they showed my father over the past three years. From the very beginning, the staff treated him not just as a resident, but as a valued individual with warmth, patience, and respect.


The team consistently went

My 83 year old mother in law was recently transferred from hospital to the Care Home for palliative care.


Upon arrival to the Care Home she was greeted by the staff and management team with a big smile and warm welcome. They helped her to settled her into a nice routine so she felt comfortable in

fact nothing was too much !


The Care Home is new, has excellent facilities for its residents including a lovely outdoor garden, the fantastic entertainment team have daily activities such as sing alongs, chair fitness, art and crafts that everyone can enjoy.


The staff are very kind, thoughtful and treat mum with utmost dignity and respect, family/friends who have visited her say how lovely the Care Home is and nice to see mum in her own private room.


I would highly recommend West Hill Care Home for anyone considering putting their loved ones into a residential home.

It was tough to know that my Grandad would have to go into a care home. However, the level of care provided at West Hill Care Home really put my mind at ease. My grandfather's health had been declining over the past few years, which was emotionally difficult to witness and physically demanding, as he required round-the-clock care. West Hill Care Home provided him with consistent, attentive support - always monitoring his health and anticipating his needs.
The
staff were incredibly kind and compassionate, treating my grandfather with dignity and respect, especially during his most vulnerable moments. Every time we ended a visit, we left with peace of mind, knowing he was in safe hands.

A professionally run Care Home which has the necessary equipment and qualified staff who are always smiling and happy to provide as much assistance as possible.
West Hill Care home is purpose built (no adaptations) providing excellent care facilities e.g. rooms equipped with pressure beds, 24 hr alarm,
en-suite built with elderly in mind, large TV etc. The on-boarding of residents with adaptable care plans is carefully vetted and managed, The care home manager visited my Mum on her first day to provide a personal welcome and assurance which was followed by more of the same from the rest of the team across all disciplines.
There is a weekly GP face to face meeting and prescriptions are delivered promptly. This is a clean and happy environment where the staff do their best to make the stay as comfortable as possible.

Sadly, my father was unable to return home after a long spell in hospital.
West Hill Care Home has proved to be a home away from home for him. All of the team from reception staff, care staff,nursing staff, housekeeping staff and managment have shown themselves to be warm, welcoming and respectful
towards my father and all his family.
The facilities at West Hill Care Home are clean modern yet give a homely touch. There are always organised activities going on which my father can enjoy.
We as a family have nothing but praise for everyone.

The staff are always friendly, caring and helpful. The staff are also informative.
West Hill is clean and tidy and very well run and organised.

From the initial home assessment and transition everything has been made as stress free and caring for Mum's comfort. Her room is large, light, clean and homely. The communal rooms are welcoming and comfortable. All the staff are focused on providing an excellent level of care. Mum enjoys her meals
and the entertainment staff keep residents happy and as busy as they wish. The staff manage all Mum's medications and the GP visits inhouse which is a huge relief and help. As a family we couldn't be happier with West Hill Care Home and it gives us the peace of mind much needed for Mums wellbeing.

Mum was at West Hill for just over 3 months (July - October 2024). It was intended as a permanent move, but there were a number of things that happened with her care whereby we felt that she had to move as we were spending as much time with the home managers as we were with Mum.
There was not much
interaction with care staff generally, but there were a handful of excellent and friendly staff (I gather we cannot name them - which is a shame). Staffing was sometimes an issue and training needs identified. On the positive side, Mum did love the entertainment, and the events team were really good.
NB If at any time you are awarded Funded Nursing Care, this does not get deducted from the quoted fees. This was not made clear to us when we signed the contract. This essentially meant that the home received an additional £235 pw for the same level of care. We felt that this should have been explained to us up front so that we understood the true fees.

We are sorry we did not meet your expectations, however we do have to respect the wishes of the residents above those of the family and despite our best efforts on this occasion we were not able to agree and you chose to move your mother despite her being happy at the home. With regard to fees our contract is very clear as it defines what is included and what is not, however noting your comment as a gesture of goodwill we did reduce the fees on this occasion.
