West Hill Care Home is a stunning, new, luxury-affordable care home in the heart of Dartford, Kent. The home provides person-centred residential, nursing, respite and dementia care. Their primary aim is to provide independence, dignity and care in a home designed with residents’ needs in mind.

The purpose-built home offers state-of-the-art facilities. Spread over four floors, with lift access, each resident has their own beautifully decorated bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. Each floor also has an assisted bathroom where residents can enjoy therapeutic colour and music as well as massage and aromatherapy.

Further facilities include an on-site hair salon with full hairdressing service, a treatment room and nail bar, and a vintage-style cinema. The home features several cosy dining rooms and lounges, with rustic fireplaces and their own lifestyle kitchens to support each resident to really feel at home and to maintain their personal independence. Here, residents can socialise and take part in the home’s busy schedule of activities and entertainment. Mum has been really well looked after by all the staff at West Hill Care home. Being discharged from hospital Mum was frail from her illness and prolonged hospital stay, and with their help and assistance she has returned to good health along with growing confidence and now looking forward to returning
home with a support plan in place.
It was great for us to know all of Mum's medicine needs were managed and provided to her as prescribed, along with regular weekly Doctor's visit.
Mum has enjoyed making friends, as well as the activities that are laid out in the mornings and afternoons, especially looking forward to lunch times where she enjoys the good quality food along with her friends.

My mother arrived at West Hill Care Home in mid-August for 4 weeks of respite care (pending either a move to be nearer me or conversion to permanent stay at West Hill, subject to Mum's happiness). When we visited everything seemed fine and we were promised the sort of personal care which we hoped to
find for Mum. The reality was very disappointing.
From the moment Mum arrived, care staff were on the back foot and seemed unready to settle Mum in. Mum was confused and after 4 hours had not yet been shown how to call for assistance from her room. Over the next few days, there were many safety and welfare concerns which were communicated to the management at the home and we did not feel were adequately addressed and so after a fortnight, we moved Mum to a new home.
The Care Home Manager changed during the fortnight of Mum's stay. It has taken 4 months to recover from the trauma of this experience and write a review. I hope that others have a more positive experience.

Regretfully, I had to accept I was no longer able to manage my husband's dementia. At a distressing time, we were fortunate to be welcomed with understanding and compassion at West Hill Care Home. The staff are always pleasant friendly and welcoming. I feel relieved my husband has so much freedom as
his dementia allows. I would find it helpful and reassuring if the reception provision was manned at weekends (but I believe this is being looked into)

Very pleased with the care and attention my relative has had. All the staff are very kind, caring and helpful and management are very hands-on and approachable. Everything is clean and well-maintained. Excellent range of entertainment and activities. Lovely, sheltered garden. Rooms are spacious and

Lovely friendly staff from reception to cleaners who always go that extra mile to look after the residents. Excellent care home in all aspects. Absolutely great care home. The staff are so nice and so helpful. The home is spotless and clean. Great selection of food. Great location, so close to the local train station and bus route.

My mother has been a resident for about six months. She has dementia and is very well cared for. The staff are always friendly. There is always something organised for the residents and they seem to enjoy themselves. The home is very comfortable and very clean. My mother has 24hr care.

My mother has been in the care home for nearly a year. She is pleased with the care she receives. The staff are very friendly and approachable. There are many activities on offer and my mother enjoys the bingo mornings. The meals on offer are of a high standard and variety. My mother is pleased with
her room and the facilities it offers. The staff are very informative in the event of any changes or accidents that happen. The one negative point that my mother has mentioned to me is that sometimes there appears to be a shortage of staff. Overall I am pleased with the level of care my mother is receiving at West Hill Care Home.

A friend recently became a resident of West Hill. At first, it was very scary as everything in her life had changed. After two weeks of care, patience and understanding from the staff she seems more settled and beginning to join in activities.

These people really go above and beyond to look after my sister, I cannot recommend them enough. The care is 5 star, the members of staff are friendly, they really care. My sister is well and truly looked after, I cannot say enough how much care my sister receives.

My father-in-law was transferred from hospital in early March. We had been to visit the home and found the atmosphere very friendly, calm and caring. He is unfortunately not able to get out of bed so is cared for in his room. Being turned every 2 hours to relieve the pressure on his sores, which he
had on entering West Hill Care Home. The staff are excellent and always say hello when passing.

West Hill Care Home is a new purpose built care home with easy access with ample free parking.
It has a safe and secure signing in and out procedure. The reception and care team are always professional, courteous and welcoming which helps create a warm, friendly and caring atmosphere.
The rooms
are always clean and the meals look appetising.
I would recommend the home.

On looking around the home and talking with the manager about my husband and then when bringing my husband in for two weeks respite, staff seemed very friendly and the environment was clean and bright. A coffee morning was going on when we arrived which we were invited to participate in, which we did,
my husband seemed to enjoy his cup of tea and cake. I was informed about upcoming activities which were being held in the home and said which ones I felt my husband might enjoy. I left feeling that my husband was in safe hands while I went away and that his needs would be met.
Lunch seemed quite late at 1 pm and some were still finishing food at 2 pm.
My husband suffered skin damage after being in the home's care for five days, the severity of which was not communicated to friends who were visiting or to family, hence we're pushing for him to be sat out of bed as would be normal for him.
When taking him home, items of his clothing could not be located despite much searching by staff/home manager.

My mother spent her final year at this care home. All the staff made her final year comfortable and happy. They are attentive all tried to make my mum's stay happy. The home is clean modern and homely. I would personally like to thank all the staff from the receptionist, to the kitchen staff, to the

My mum stayed at West Hill Care Home after leaving hospital following a hip operation. She improved so much during her 3 week recovery there. The staff helped her to walk again and to get washed and dressed each day and she enjoyed sitting with the other residents.

We booked my Step Father in for a month's respite in Dec 2022 to give my mother a break and were very impressed by every aspect of the month's stay.
The tour of the facility and all the upfront information we received was excellent and gave us comfort that we were choosing the right respite home for
a patient sadly struggling with dementia.
He settled in very well into a very new and well-decorated dedicated bedroom and the common areas were also comfortable with new furniture and nice decor where the daily activities took place.
Food was great and the staff were very welcoming to visitors.
We would have no hesitation in recommending West Hill Care Home.

After many tears our lovely dad came to live in this special care home in the summer of 2022, as a family we were very reluctant and scared, we didn't think he would settle and he would be very confused due to his severe dementia, we couldn't have been more wrong, he settled immediately, not only is
West Hill a home from home, its the staff that make this place outstanding. From the ladies who clean, the kitchen staff, that cooks such delicious food, the entertaining ladies (who have held my hand and stayed with me when I was having a moment) the ladies on reception that always greet me with a smile, the maintenance man that always stops to say hello, to the staff that take care of our dad daily, we now know that coming to West Hill was the best thing for dad, its a place like nothing I have seen before. I can't thank the staff enough for everything they do. Not only for dad but also for us, we are made to feel safe.
