On looking around the home and talking with the manager about my husband and then when bringing my husband in for two weeks respite, staff seemed very friendly and the environment was clean and bright. A coffee morning was going on when we arrived which we were invited to participate in, which we did, my husband seemed to enjoy his cup of tea and cake. I was informed about upcoming activities which were being held in the home and said which ones I felt my husband might enjoy. I left feeling that my husband was in safe hands while I went away and that his needs would be met.
Lunch seemed quite late at 1 pm and some were still finishing food at 2 pm.
My husband suffered skin damage after being in the home's care for five days, the severity of which was not communicated to friends who were visiting or to family, hence we're pushing for him to be sat out of bed as would be normal for him.

When taking him home, items of his clothing could not be located despite much searching by staff/home manager.

My mother spent her final year at this care home. All the staff made her final year comfortable and happy. They are attentive all tried to make my mum's stay happy. The home is clean modern and homely. I would personally like to thank all the staff from the receptionist, to the kitchen staff, to the cleaners, the entertainment staff and all the care staff and the management team for allowing me to relax knowing she was being well looked after. Thanks

My mum stayed at West Hill Care Home after leaving hospital following a hip operation. She improved so much during her 3 week recovery there. The staff helped her to walk again and to get washed and dressed each day and she enjoyed sitting with the other residents.

Thank you to all at West Hill.

We booked my Step Father in for a month's respite in Dec 2022 to give my mother a break and were very impressed by every aspect of the month's stay.
The tour of the facility and all the upfront information we received was excellent and gave us comfort that we were choosing the right respite home for a patient sadly struggling with dementia.
He settled in very well into a very new and well-decorated dedicated bedroom and the common areas were also comfortable with new furniture and nice decor where the daily activities took place.
Food was great and the staff were very welcoming to visitors.

We would have no hesitation in recommending West Hill Care Home.

After many tears our lovely dad came to live in this special care home in the summer of 2022, as a family we were very reluctant and scared, we didn't think he would settle and he would be very confused due to his severe dementia, we couldn't have been more wrong, he settled immediately, not only is West Hill a home from home, its the staff that make this place outstanding. From the ladies who clean, the kitchen staff, that cooks such delicious food, the entertaining ladies (who have held my hand and stayed with me when I was having a moment) the ladies on reception that always greet me with a smile, the maintenance man that always stops to say hello, to the staff that take care of our dad daily, we now know that coming to West Hill was the best thing for dad, its a place like nothing I have seen before. I can't thank the staff enough for everything they do. Not only for dad but also for us, we are made to feel safe.

Since coming into the care home my mother's every need has been met. Staff at all levels have been considerate and compassionate to both my mother and her family members.

My mother has seemed to be much happier in the care home than she was at home.

My uncle originally came in for respite care after his mobility took a decline and he was struggling to live independently in Beckenham. We were extremely anxious about the entire process but once through the doors, we knew he was in the best hands and were overjoyed when he wanted to stay as a full-time resident. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating, allowing him to do as much or as little as he wanted, he was assisted with washing when needed, had his hair cut and on his 90th birthday he had banners on his door, a card, present and a birthday cake at tea time. Little touches like this meant so much. Plus we were able to visit every day, with no time constraints so work was never an issue. Sadly his time was cut short in the home after his health declined and he never made it back again from hospital, something we as a family were devastated about. He was very happy in your care and we will always be eternally grateful to you for looking after him.

Mum is in this lovely, caring care home for respite with a view to a permanent stay. She has been there for nearly two weeks and has already made friends. The staff cannot do enough for Mum and they are caring, friendly and kind. It is like a home from home. The home itself has been furnished to a high-end, modern finish, a bit like a hotel. I would definitely recommend this home for your loved one. Thanks everyone at West Hill Care Home!

My father was only at West Hill care home for a few weeks before passing away. However during the time that he was there, he was treated with kindness and respect by all the staff. The facilities were first class, it was always spotlessly clean and we were always made to feel welcome whenever we visited. Deciding on a care home is a very difficult decision for anyone to make, but I would not hesitate in recommending West Hill Care home.

The care staff at this home are very professional and carry out a very friendly execution of their duties relating to my mother. My mother suffered a major stroke in July 2021 and relies on the nursing/care staff for all her needs. I can't praise them highly enough and offer them thanks from our family.

My aged mother recently had a fractured hip, and as her mobility is quite impaired, she has required more or less constant attention. All the staff have been superb in attending to her needs. She is still “with it” and is extremely appreciative of the attention she is receiving.

My father who has Dementia came in to stay for two weeks to give my mother a well earned rest. We were extremely stressed initially about the whole experience but the manager came to visit and went through everything with us - he was very warm, friendly and efficient and put our minds instantly at ease. During his stay, the staff were all extremely welcoming and friendly and you could see it's a happy place to work and run very efficiently. The whole place was immaculately clean, all my father's clothes were well laundered and he was clean tidy and happy when we picked him up. I would thoroughly recommend West Hill Care Home to anybody and it is most definitely somewhere we will look to in the future. Special mention to the staff member who clearly loves her job and working at West Hill, she kindly showed us round and saw how beautiful and stylish the place really is. The staff member on reception is also extremely friendly and helpful and the carer who looked after dad. Thank you West Hill Care Home!

My father went for respite at the home after falling and breaking his shoulder. He is 94-years-old and I felt very anxious and guilty about sending him there. I can honestly say there was no reason to feel like this. The care he received was excellent and he enjoyed his month's stay. I could visit at any time and they had some lovely entertainment. When I next go on holiday, I will have no reservation about him going there again. He has even asked if he can go back there when I am on holiday. Lovely place, excellent facilities.

It was a massive change for my 92-year-old father to leave his home where he had lived for the past 49 years, and for the past 12 years looking after himself.
He took the decision to move into West Hill Residential Care Home at the beginning of March 2022 and since then, the level of care, friendliness and professionalism the care team has extended to him, and to us, has been exemplary.
The care home itself is of a very high standard and absolutely nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
The 4 week respite trial period that is offered by the care home is a fantastic idea as it allowed my father to try it out first, knowing that he could leave if he didn't like it.

I would fully recommend West Hill Care Home to anyone reading this review and can assure you that the level of care is first class.
