My severely dependent husband has been a resident at Millfield House for 17 years. His needs are extremely complex and require specialist attention. He is extremely limited using a wheelchair and hoist, communication equipment due to lack of voice and is fed by a carer due to lack of any independent
movement. I have witnessed the changes over the years at Millfield House but, despite a troubled and worrying time of less than adequate care and leadership for a while, I find the new Manager (since Sept 2019) and her ‘team’ have stepped up to the challenge of meeting a whole range of different physical disabilities in a much more coordinated and actively kind manner. Communication is better, reassurance for my husband and for our family enhanced, inclusion of the scene surrounding care is tackled in a dignified and intuitive way, making life worth living and accepting the disabilities so that they almost ‘disappear’ and days are enjoyed with good friends as they should be. Thank you.

My nephew has lived at Sandygate Manor for almost 20 years, during which time he has benefited from the kindness, respect and expert care and attention of a dedicated staff and management team. A real home from home.

My close friend, who is a resident, is always very happy with the care she receives. It is reassuring to see the staff take time and be attentive to little details which I know mean so much to her - simply paying extra attention to help her appearance goes a long way and shows she is respected and well

My dad has lived at Burnham for a few years and all the staff have been outstanding with him, I have never had to worry about taking time off work to accompany my dad to appointments as this is all taken care of by the manager, I’m always updated by staff about my dad, always feel welcome when visiting,
offered drinks when visiting. Feels very homely. Thank you to all the staff your doing a grand job.

My wife has been here since October 2017, I find the care at Tristford House excellent. Staff, food, activities and the overall feel of the place is very good. My wife's care is spot on. She does a lot of activities going on with staff and with myself when I come up.
Excellent home.

I have lived at Tristford since October 2017. I have found the managers to be excellent and all the staff to be very kind and caring. I am confined to a wheelchair which means that I need a lot of help as I am paralysed from the waist down and have some problems with my upper body. The staff cater for
all my needs, helping with love and without complaint. The food is home cooked with a choice of menus by 2 different chefs. It's delicious!
My room is kept extremely clean by 2 housekeepers whom are happy and cheerful in their work on a daily basis.
There is a wide range of activities available. For example, a fitness lady comes in once a month and outside musicians come into the home for entertainment. I do my own art in my room. I feel safe and happy here as the building is secure and night staff are at hand during the night.

Tristford has always provided my brother with excellent care.
We were, of course, concerned when the business was sold.
The change has made no difference to the standard of care and it is clear that the new owners are investing in the future of Tristford which is very reassuring.

Tristford House is the best and only place for my daughter. The management and staff care for her complex needs with professionalism and kindness. The staff are more like friends than careworkers. Lovely rooms, lovely garden, excellent food, relaxed welcoming atmosphere. Top class.
