Constantly impressed by ongoing care and kindness and sense of humour of carers.

Came in for 2 weeks respite care after fracturing my pelvis. It was just what I needed at the time and I left feeling much stronger and able to continue my recovery at home. all staff were kind and caring.

So lovely to see such wonderful care for all the elderly resident guests. From the sunshine shown on the desk, smiles were everywhere. This is not your average nursing home; the staff go out of their way to make this a real home.

A very impressive care home, excellent nursing staff, highly competent management throughout, and all with a friendly demeanour.

The care of my Mother is superb and the Care staff are all wonderful and cheerful. If I have any concerns they are ready to talk to me. They are renovating the Home to a high standard and the range of activities have greatly improved since the arrival of Matt.

Most important Dad is made to feel important and is very happy.

Mum was admitted 8th April as an emergency admission. Administration and financial assessment was swift and efficient. Prior medical assessment was detailed and highly competent. Our plan had been a standard admission but as Mum was rapidly deteriorating care home accelerated admission. Mum was in nursing wing for two weeks and at every stage we were extremely satisfied with the care, including the final end of life stage which was dignified. Difficult to find fault. Thank you.

My husband went into Rockdale House in September 2025. He is bedridden but stillhas his mental faculties. He needs constant nursing care which is given by professional, caring and pleasant staff. He is content and I am grateful. The whole atmosphere in the home is positive and friendly which is most important.

I would definitely recommend Rockdale House to anyone looking for a caring, fun place to live, either for themselves or for a relation. I loved the time I spent with my mother there over nearly three years until she passed away in December 2025. They looked after my mother very well and consulted the family over any concerns or ideas they had for making her stay easier for her. The staff and carers became like an extended family, chatting to them and allowing me to join my mother in taking part in the activities when visiting her was such a blessing.

Rockdale Care Home has been part of our family since my mother moved in in 2015, and we've seen many changes over the years. Under the current management of Jo and her team, it has never been better. There is a real focus on continuous improvement, and it shows.

A major positive change is the consistency of staff-now mostly permanent, creating a warm and familiar environment, unlike before. The activities programme is excellent, with engaging and well-planned activities that have greatly improved residents' quality of life.

The carers are compassionate and professional, maintaining high standards of care. Cleanliness and food are consistently excellent. The admin and reception team are always welcoming, efficient, and helpful.

Overall, Rockdale is now a well-run, caring home, and we feel confident our mother is in very good hands.

Thank you to everyone at Rockdale for keeping my Mum safe, well cared for and giving me peace of mind.

Rockdale is a kind and oh so happy place. I doubt that anyone dreams of ending their days in a care or nursing home but if you have to, you couldn't do better than Rockdale. Thank you to everyone who cares so dearly for my mother.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Rockdale House as a place where relatives can be comforted that their nearest and dearest will be looked after in a kind and compassionate setting.

Activities are excellently planned and Mum is encouraged to participate.

The facilities are great, staff are go above & beyond and my grandma is incredibly well looked after. The gardens are a happy place to be and the staff are always very accommodating when I bring my children to visit my grandma. Thank you!

The care for my elderly mum was first class, right from the first assessment to sad recent passing. My mother welfare, care and happiness was always their first concern. The staff are extremely kind and efficient; a pleasure to go and spend time with mum in their last days.

Communication between different members of staff could be improved. It depends who is on duty. The idea of walkie talkies is very noisy and upsets my family member. Could they be used more sensitively with thoughtfulness shows how they affect the elderly. But she also accepts that because of the geographical nature of the building, walkie talkies need to be used. Could there be better training in more sensitive use of them please?

We can't thank you enough for the wonderful care you gave our mother following her operation for pancreatic cancer. From the lovely room and welcome pack, through the wonderful care from all the staff, to her excellent medical care, everything was beyond our expectations. Thank you so much.
