Dad has been at Bay Tree Court for a week. It was a difficult decision to move made by Dad.
Dad says "he is well looked after, staff easy to relate to they involve me in things they feel I can do"
Dad says he is content, easy for me (daughter to visit)
Dad says he has noticed the good way difficult
patients are dealt with

Thank you for taking the time to submit this review so soon after your father moved in. It is just over a month now and it is great to see how well you father is settling in, making new friends both in the home and in the community at the local church. I am particularly grateful for the day that your father led a prayer and praise morning when our usual minister was not able to make it in, he was so thrilled to be able to help.

A cheerful welcome at reception and from the staff in the conservatory where my mother was seated. The big, airy room was clean and tidy and the friendly staff offered us tea/coffee. We passed my mother's room when leaving and this too was very clean, neat and tidy. A very good visit.

My wife and I really can't thank the management and staff at Bay Tree Court, in Cheltenham, enough for the care that they provided to our father in the last four months of his life. It's very clear from the way in which they interact with both the residents and their relatives that for the staff at
Bay Tree Court, working there is much more than an ordinary job.Their deeply caring attitude is not only shown by the management and the main carers - it also extends to everyone there, such as the kitchen, maintenance and the cleaning staff. We commend their dedication and kindness in a career that many people would find very difficult indeed. The atmosphere at Bay Tree is one of warmth and peace, and the people there take a lot of trouble to look after residents' relatives too, in what is often a very difficult time for everyone in the family. When we visited Bay Tree, we really felt that we were visiting friends.
Reply from Fiona Gillon, Manager at Bay Tree Court Residential Care Home

Hello Alex, thank you so much for your kind words, I have to say it brought a tear to my eye. We strive to care for everyone, not just the resident and I am so pleased that this was your experience. It was a pleasure and an honour to care for your father even though for just a short time, he was such an intrepid and adventurous chap, and a true gentleman, we will miss him.

From our first meeting with the staff, through to Dad's arrival, when a member of staff stayed extra late to ensure he could be admitted on discharge from hospital, everyone at Bay Tree has been so kind and supportive.
There is a lovely caring atmosphere, which extends to taking care of the family
too. Nothing has been too much trouble and everyone from the cleaning team to the carers and nursing staff to the management, have been welcoming and helpful. The catering staff went the extra mile to make food to tempt Dad, since he didn't really have an appetite, and staff took the trouble to find out about him and his interests and to try and draw him out when he was experiencing deep grief and shock after the death of our mother. The fact that Bay Tree is run by a charity, not a business, really seems to flow into all aspects of their approach. They have felt like a family, and now that Dad has sadly passed away, we will miss them!

Hello Sally, thank you so much for this lovely review of Baytree Court, it is really appreciated, particularly during this sad time. It was such a pleasure to be able to support your father, yourself and your brother during your father's stay with us. I will share your comments with the whole team of which I am incredibly proud. Thank you again.

Mum has initially moved into Royal Court for a respire period, with the view to a permanent move. Mum is very pleased with her flat and has praised the staff, food and overall facilities on many occasions. I visit often, and find on all occasions that the home is spotless and all staff are excellent
and very caring. I would highly recommend Royal Court, its staff and management, and Lilian Faithfull as a whole.

The staff are excellent at Royal Court however I am concerned that several really good members of staff from one particular unit in the home have left since new management took over. Also others have left in different areas and have been moved around so this is an unstabling factors for residents. Please
bring back old management for both staff and residents.

We feel mum is looked after very well, she seems to enjoy her time at the home but does have her off days. On the whole we are very pleased with her care. The only points we feel could be improved is she often has other people's clothes on, even though she has plenty of her own (all named)!

Resthaven is an exceptional care home.
Our mother had complex and rapidly evolving needs as her ongoing paralysis grew steadily worse. Her brain remained as sharp as mustard till the day she died, but by the end, she was paralysed from the neck down, could hardly talk and needed help with every aspect
of life and personal care.
The Resthaven staff were consistently kind, attentive and patient - listening carefully to her and treating mother with real dignity and respect to the end.
In our experience, Resthaven fosters a staff that is that rare combination of being ultra-professional and well-trained with genuine human warmth and a patient-first mentality.
We can't thank them enough.

Royal Court admitted us at very short notice due to circumstances at another care home where we were booked in initially.

We have been assisted whenever needed e.g eye drops administrated as prescribed, we were made to feel very welcome, no request was too much.

As I live in Yorkshire, I do a lot of video calls with Mum and the staff are only too pleased to set up Mum's tablet. Everyone is so helpful. When I do visit we are always asked and provided with a cup of tea. If we are there lunch time we always asked to have lunch. On my last visit they provided a
guest room (which was very clean) and provided supper and breakfast. The home is so clean and the staff are always kind and courteous, nothing is too much trouble for any of them. Mum is so relaxed and comfortable with all the staff. Such a great happy and loving atmosphere.

A huge thank you to the manager and his team for exceptional care to my Mum who has Dementia. You have been kindness itself and we're all so very grateful. Mum has loved the friendships made with both peers and staff. Two visits a week, helped establish a routine and generate conversation to tell us
all at the end of the day. Mum particularly enjoyed the outings, to which we were made welcome and the visiting performers to the group.
The manager also made visiting professionals welcome to view Mum in her own environment, he frequently re-organised transport for Mum when we needed to change days to cater for last minute appointments. Thank you to all of you. You really do make a difference and should be applauded for doing so.

We visit my brother-in-law every week. We have a 2-hour journey from Wales and invariably, when we arrive, we are offered tea and a warm welcome. My brother-in-law is well cared for and always washed and dressed when we arrive. He has settled in well and thanks to all the staff, has made good relationships
with both carers and patients. The facilities are good and meet his needs. We are particularly impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of all the staff we have encountered. The cleanliness of his room and all service areas is of a high standard. The whole family are impressed and grateful that he has found a d second home.
