Parkmanor Nursing & Residential Home

from V J (Wife of Resident) published on 11 September 2024

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
With my son and daughter, we were shown around twice before it became clear that my husband would be unable to come home once discharged from another care home after the hospital. We contacted Parkmanor again and thankfully a room was available. We were given the opportunity to personalise it for my
husband. All staff have been welcoming to us as a family. All staff have been welcoming and understanding of him. Do feel each room needs its own small chair rather than having to take in a dining chair which is very heavy.

Castle Donnington

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother has been a resident at Castle Donnington Care Home for 18 months. The home provides a safe, secure and effective environment and the staff are always kind and friendly. My mother enjoys the food and the company of her fellow residents. The care home has worked hard during the Covid-19 crisis
to keep the residents safe and secure. They have also allowed me to visit regularly in accordance with the government guidelines prevailing at the time. I would be happy to recommend the facility to others for their loved ones requiring care.
Reply from Krys Castro-Muresan, Registered Manager at Castle Donnington

Thank you so much for the review, Ken, it is a joy and privilege for me and for our staff to look after your mother and also to know your whole family. We appreciate your support to Castle Donington Care too and I will pass your review to our staff today during our staff meeting.

The team at Beaumanor are exceptional, they are well led by the lovely manager and all do an excellent job.
They not only treat our Mum with kindness, dignity and respect looking after her needs but they also make us her family feel most welcome and part of the Beaumanor family.
This is just a lovely
place and we are very happy that Mum is in this wonderful care home.

Matthews Combined Nursing & Neurology Units

My son entered the Matthews Unit in January 2018. He had suffered a severe brain injury in a motorcycle accident. He needed full care, tube feed, and transferring by hoist. He was doubly incontinent and could not sit upright by himself. It is now November 2019, and after much care from a dedicated team
and physio occupational therapist and care workers, he is able to eat, walk, talk and he is presently in their assessment flat getting him ready to leave and live an independent life. Nothing short of a miracle, we owe such a lot to the Matthews Unit.

A big thank you to everyone who organised the sing-along entertainment last week at the home. It was so lovely to see residents and their families singing along to some of the old songs. A good time was clearly had by all.
It is so nice to see a home that offers a wide range of activities for the residents
and their families if they choose to get involved.
Looking forward to future events and outings you have already arranged for the year ahead.

Jasmine Court

We were so reluctant to place our father in a care home; we had preferred a hospice for his end of life care but the care provided was outstanding. The staff on hand are amazing and we feel the care afforded to our dad in his last few days was everything we could ask for; caring, attentive and genuine.

It would be nice if some gardens could be planted - something beautiful to look out onto.

My Grandma has been a resident of this home for the last two years. The nursing care she has received has been outstanding. She entered the home in a very poorly condition with a nasty bedsore nearly down to the bone and they nursed her back to health. The carers and nursing staff have been brilliant.
We cannot thank them enough and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

My Mum had vascular dementia and her behaviour changed as such she became very demanding and 100 percent dependent. She was transferred from the LRI to Jasmine Court. The staff at Jasmine Court were very understanding. Very respectful. Even showed affection. Her room was clean and we could visit anytime.
I would recommend for someone in a similar situation.

When my mother was at Jasmine Court, the home was very clean and very well cared for. There was a lot for her to do i.e. groups for her to join with and things for her to do. The staff were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. She was safe and we could visit at any time.
