Overall Experience
My mother was a resident at the Hollies for 15 months and I was very impressed, always a welcome smile from the staff when visiting and mum was very happy there. The activities everyday make the Hollies a very happy place to live, not to mention the very caring staff.

Very highly recommended!

I have seen all residents treated well, they are all happy, lovely food, lots of activities, friendly, welcoming staff. Couldn't do enough for my aunt during her respite stay.

Very pleased with the 'in house' hairdressing. Running and working in a care home is a very difficult job. I am grateful to all the staff at The Hollies for their hard work, commitment and patient positive attitude. I'm impressed. Don't be put off that the exterior might look a bit shabby in places, its a warm and caring place. Thank you to all the staff for looking after my mum.(and they cook their food in house and, relatively, it is good value).

Review of The Hollies from D O (Daughter of Resident) published on 18 February 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Our mom has been a resident for about a year, Following a decline in her health and mobility. From day one she has been warmly welcomed as have our family. Our mom is happy and so well looked after, physically, emotionally and nutritionally. She has friends with other residents and the staff members are all incredible, kind, caring, funny and keep us well informed.

As a family, we had never experienced care facilities previously but as soon as mom went to The Hollies we knew we'd made the best choice.

The atmosphere is always friendly and calm. I am always greeted by name and welcomed into the home by pleasant and professional staff. I am unable to answer value for money as I am not family and therefore do not handle finances.

Review of The Hollies from Jane-Anne S (Niece of Resident) published on 10 December 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
The Hollies is very special. I went to view the home as needed respite care for my Aunt who had recently been in hospital. I was welcomed into The Hollies and was immediatly struck by how happy all the residents were - there were four ladies playing cards around a table, cups of tea and plates of cake were being enjoyed and the laughter as they played was heartwarming. Other residents were cosy either in their rooms or watching one of the TVs in the lounge areas. Friendly staff flittered around and engaged so well with the residents. I was shown a few rooms to choose from, all clean and comfortable.

I had no hesitation in transfering my Aunt to The Hollies within a few days. Friendly staff, excellent communication, holistic approach to care, activites, reasonable fees. The list goes on. Highly recommended.

Review of Manor House Residential Home from Robert B (Son of Resident) published on 3 October 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mum is a resident at this care home, and I cannot praise the team enough for the wonderful care she receives. The staff are incredibly attentive, always ensuring she feels safe, comfortable, and well supported. There is a genuine sense of compassion in the way they provide constant care, while also respecting her independence and personal needs.

The staff go above and beyond, making sure she gets to her hospital appointments and supporting her through any treatments she needs. They take care of the little things that make such a big difference, like arranging regular haircuts, washing and personal care, which help her feel herself and maintain her dignity.

Refreshments are always available, and I've noticed how the team takes the time to encourage residents to enjoy meals and drinks in a relaxed, social setting. Most importantly, my mum is treated with dignity and respect at all times, which gives me such peace of mind.

It's clear that the staff truly care about their residents.

2 years on from my last review I want to update, especially regarding the carers. Every single one is fantastic. They are all so cheerful, so kind and patient with their clients including my mum who is always kept clean and lovely too. Wonderful staff who really do care.

Other than that, the place could do with some more refurbishment in the main lounge, staff toilets and kitchen. I've emailed the owner so fingers crossed this lovely home is maintained and is a place worthy of these lovely carers and their clients.

I am absolutely amazed what a difference it has made to my 102-year-old mother who moved into this care home in November 2024 after living on her own in a bungalow at a Retirement Village in another county, even with a very extensive care package provided for her she struggled to be happy. She has a lovely bedroom on the first floor and she is encouraged to stay in the communal lounge with the other residents during the day where she can see everything that is going on around her. She can see the other residents and understands that she is not alone in needing the care and support that is provided by an excellent team of care and support staff and a brilliant manager and assistant manager who are very conscientious and supportive and extremely hard working to ensure that all the resident's needs are met in full at all times.

My uncle has been in an assisted living apartment at The Manor, Middleton for two and a half years and he is extremely happy there.
The manageress and all her staff are friendly, helpful and very caring and will always go the extra mile to help the residents. He loves all the meals provide and always says what good cooks they are.

My uncle has even said it was the best move he had ever made in going there.

Review of Manor House Residential Home from Shirley W (Daughter of Resident) published on 5 August 2021 Submitted via Website

As a family, we did a lot of soul searching before we decided it was impossible to look after Mum at home. Her Alzheimer's and dementia were progressing and she had had many falls, not being able to get up again.
Her move to the Manor House for a week's respite care in July 2019 made our decision easier and Mum moved in permanently in August 2019. Sadly Mum passed away peacefully at the end of June 2021.
The care she received in the two years she was there was second to none, specially during the Covid pandemic when we were unable to visit.

I cannot thank the staff at the Manor House enough for their hard work and dedication to looking after Mum.

Review of Manor House Residential Home from Kyle P (Grandson of Resident) published on 25 February 2021 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My grandad was at Manor House for many years and he loved the place. The carers were great with him, always having a joke and a laugh. Prior to moving to Manor House he had a difficult time with his meds and changed him to a point where it was awkward to be around him. However shortly after moving to Manor House, I don't know what they did, but he was his old self again and would always have a smile on his face when I saw him. It was tough during covid times as the isolation didn't help, but the home was still great and had no cases in the home.

Dad had Alzheimer’s and he lived at Manor House for three and a half years. I never once regretted my decision. He was always very well cared for and all the staff were kind and considerate. I visited frequently in the early months and I never felt this was a problem. Covid has meant only a handful of visits in the last 12 months, but I was confident Dad was being looked after. My thanks to all the staff, each and every one of them, the work you do is so very precious.

My mother, aged 86, was cared for exceptionally well at The Hollies care home. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff are very aware of each individual residents needs. Activities are very well thought out with the option to go out into the local community. Food is all homecooked and plentiful. The home is not purpose-built and has a nice homely feel to it. Highly recommended.
