Review of The Park Residential Care Home from Laura C (Resident / Service User) published on 16 June 2026 Submitted via Website

The staff treat mental health support work like it's an odd job because it's basic wage. They'll employ anyone to look after people with complex medical problems and they don't understand that there is a person at the heart of it which care homes are supposed to know about. Anxiety is through the roof due to the constant pressure put on patients to get a job. It's difficult to sleep and therefore it is difficult to be on time for mealtimes. The kitchen is closed between midnight and 6am so if you get hungry then there is nothing you can do.

My step dad has just moved into Hollinwell, I looked around before he moved in and I knew straight away that the home was person centred and they really cared for their residents, it had a really lovely atmosphere, really clean and the care staff were very welcoming and friendly and Louise showed me around, she made me feel very confident that my step dad was going to be happy and cared for

The facilities are fabulous, the best care home I have been into, I would highly recommend.

Review of Cornerstone At The Park from Laura C (Resident / Service User) published on 4 March 2025 Submitted via Website

Great place to get going on with your life in the community again. Love the location and very easy access to the local amenities. Huge car park and gorgeous fountain at the front entrance, an original feature, no doubt, with historical significance. It is a good place to gain enough independence to want more.

I would like to say a very big thank you to Hatzfeld House for their amazing care of my mum while she was there. They treated her with dignity and compassion. So kind and caring. Sadly mum has passed away now. But I cannot thank Hatzfeld House enough. I was also made very welcome and even had dinner with my mum. She had to go to the hospital a few times but the staff here were always with her. Thank you everyone. Fantastic staff

Review of Eagle House Residential Care Home from Ben J (Resident / Service User) published on 3 February 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

The policy clearly states smoking is not permitted, cigarette ends are plastered everywhere. Rudeness and no manners towards staff, ask to do activities and smoking comes as a priority. Cleaned them myself yet more appear scattered around. Feeling disrespected during my stay here as the smell of cigarettes is disgusting, also harmful to habitat and wildlife, and could also cause a fire if not careful. Cigarette ends are being put out in the sink in the communal area. The policy clearly states cigarettes are banned in the United Kingdom since 2007 which means no smoking is permitted in public places. It needs to be reviewed thoroughly by Health and Safety Executive and also Environmental Health Officers/Fire and rescue. However, this is causing unwanted health issues that are not what's needed. Also clearly being done near the CCTV. This needs to be addressed by local authorities, most of the residents support Manchester United.

Reply from Kiri Abrams, Regional Manager at Eagle House Residential Care Home
Thank you for your review.

We take these concerns very seriously. Firstly, we have a strict smoking policy in place, which is clearly stated and communicated to all staff and residents. We regularly remind and educate everyone about the harmful effects of smoking and the importance of abiding by...

My mum was scared but in Aarondale she was so happy there, the food was excellent the care staff were so good with mum. She sadly passed away at 90 but they made my mum's final years on this planet feel secure and happy.

Review of Hatzfeld House Care Home from Sandra R (Wife of Resident) published on 5 April 2019 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Hatzfeld: an oasis in the desert of dementia care. My husband's Alzheimer's was advanced in November 2016. After shockingly neglectful care in 2 of 3 previous homes, his immediate improvement was astonishing. He became calmer, more content and ate again. It was a huge comfort to me to see how experienced, well-trained and compassionate this wonderful manager and her team are. He received the best possible care. Care staff were always compassionate and friendly, however busy, and said how my husband was doing. During 2018 his health deteriorated, requiring frequent hospital stays. Hatzfeld staff stayed with him there until I arrived. He died in November 2018; two members of the care team attended his funeral.

Impossible to express my heartfelt gratitude for making my husband's final years the best possible. A tough job, done with professionalism, humour and insight. Residents' quality of life is at the core of everything at Hatzfeld; this made life tolerable for me too.

Review of Hatzfeld House Care Home from Glynwen L (Sister of Resident) published on 4 July 2016 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My sister was a resident at Hatzfeild House for four years until her passing in June 2016 aged 58yrs. Her health needs became increasingly complex during her last decade demanding 24 hour care and finding a suitable place was challenging. Hatzfeild House was immediately welcoming -light, airy and modern with a wide range of excellent facilities to encourage independence and preserve dignity.

The staff were always friendly and genuinely keen to meet whatever my sister's needs presented. The high standard of care she received was upheld by the manager who was always approachable, available and strived to ensure individual needs where met. My sister really loved this place and we witnessed her becoming, a happier person, which speaks volumes to us, her family and has been a great comfort to us during this time.

Review of Hatzfeld House Care Home from R G (Son of Resident) published on 23 November 2015 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

There is a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, the staff are hard working and professional they go out of their way to make the residents feel at home and cared for. The home has achieved good in five key areas of their CQC inspection report. I think the staff have worked hard to achieve this result. I am happy to have my 93 year old mother in their care and cannot fault the home of the carers.

Everyone there is kind and helpful. Mum has been there 6 years now, she has her marbles and she is 96. She complains now and again about trivial things but has always had care and attention from everyone there. They always get someone straight away to see her legs if they brake out, and always inform us of any situation weather it be outings or doctors. It is clean, the food is good and it doesn't smell. I would recommend anyone to go in there as it is comfortable and they don't sit in a circle. If anything to say about it, the wall lights are a bit bright and it effects mums eyes.

Review of Hatzfeld House Care Home from PetG (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 19 November 2015 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

We used Hatzfield for respite care prior to a permanent place becoming available so knew it well. It was far superior to other respite homes we had used in that it was a small compact unit (not an anonymous large establishment) clean and tidy and specialising in dementia. The staff all appear well trained, friendly, helpful and caring towards the residents and visitors alike. They endeavour to provide a range of activities to stimulate and entertain residents ( we have been to quite a few so know first hand). Relatives are kept well informed of all home activities and more importantly the residents continuing health problems and treatment.
