I have always found the staff to be very helpful and supportive in trying to give the best care to my family member who has lived at the scheme since it opened.
Knowing that my family member has a team of caring people who are there for her is reassuring and enables me to have a fuller life with less
worry. There are activities arranged on a regular basis and I am encouraged to go in to the building on visits.
One lady is especially kind and thoughtful.

Visited my cousin which I do every so often and I am always impressed with how friendly the staff are and how well the patients are looked after. My cousin is always clean and tidy which is difficult to maintain due to his numerous needs. Last Friday 25th July the activities co coordinator introduced
himself and went through all the activities. It was the obvious how passionate he is about his role and how much he cares for the patients.
I think it's amazing how even those who are in the advanced stages of dementia are still included in activities. Other care facilities could learn a lot from Swallowfields

The staff at Swallowfields have shown unwavering patience and care towards my father. They are amazing and a credit to their profession. I live far away and staff are always at the end of phone which is reassuring. They also make a good brew when I visit!

My husband has been a service user for over 2 years during which time his dementia has worsened. The staff are very kind and caring and put up with a lot in a sensitive way. They are quick to react and sort matters quickly and quietly. He is involved with activities with the full support of staff. I
feel happy he is safe and well cared for.

I don't sit at home worrying if my husband is being looked after. I know 100% he has the best care I can ask for. When I walk in and he is sat with the carers and he has a beaming smile from ear to ear that tells me how happy he is too.

From our initial meeting and viewing the home all the staff, from the manager to the cleaners, are all very professional and friendly. From what I've seen and my dad tells me its that everyone is helpful and respects his dignity and privacy. His room is pleasant and the lounge areas are good social
areas. The home may need some TLC in places but this doesn't affect the care received.

My father was transferred to Swallowfields after his health deteriorated and needed full time care. Both myself and my father were initially apprehensive about the move but we were both put at ease from day one. The staff here work tirelessly to make sure the residents are well cared for and experience
actives whilst celebrating special occasions throughout the year.
All residents have a key worker. My fathers key worker, was always on hand to make sure all his needs were met and if I had any questions about his care these were always addressed quickly putting my mind at ease when it was time to leave after a visit. If you have to put a family member into a residential home you should consider this one.

My dad has resided at Swallowfield Gardens for around 3 years now and he loves it here. After experiencing previous care home settings that were not the right fit for him or his specific needs, all the staff at Swallowfield Gardens are person centred and experienced in their individual roles. He loves
it here and there are loads of individual activities in house and external to suit each person. They always include families/friends with whats happening in the care home and provide regular family meetings in person and share minutes from these.

The smell of urine was really bad, rooms not cleaned, bedding not changed regularly. My husband was upset most of the time he was there. He was in to get him walking after a hospital stay. No proper attempt was made, it was left to myself and my daughter to get him mobile.

After 6.5 years at Alexandra Grange following a severe stroke my mum passed away in her room with my sister and myself with her. She had returned from hospital 2 days previously for end-of-life care. There are no words to express our massive gratitude for the staff at this care home. they care. They
know their residents. They are there front and centre. The carers domestic and laundry staff are simply the best in their field. They know every single resident and all of their individual needs. The atmosphere is one of calm with music and the radio playing. There is laughter too. They work hard and if there is anything that we have needed to address it is sorted. On 7th January they said goodbye to mum. The two night carers at the end were compassionate professional and simply wonderful. Thank you to the most amazing people. Thank you for giving mum the love and respect and forming great bonds with her You have our hearts.

My dad didn't want to leave. Following his stroke, my dad was sent to Alexander Court until he was ready to receive care at home. He loved it and in his own words, they couldn't do enough for you. Yes they were understaffed and at times this was noticeable but they carried on with a smile on their faces
and got the jobs done that needed to be done. My dad's gluten-free needs were catered for as other personal care needs and we had no complaints at all during his 6 weeks. Now his home care is another matter which is why I am writing this review. If only he could have stayed, the level in comparison is on another level.

Got to say when I heard I was coming here to continue my post-op recovery I was quite worried. After being here for a week I have been really impressed though. I am what many would consider a difficult patient as on top of a lot of problems with recovering from my leg operation I also have two chronic
conditions which mean I am unable to eat 90% of normal foods. The nurses have been great, the staff have also all been great and the physios have customised a recovery program much better than was happening in the hospital post-op ward. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alexandra Court to anyone considering coming here.

Please do not allow your relatives to stay in this place. Apart from the physios, there is no level of care. My mother was left several times in the cold bathroom with little dignity, they treat patients with contempt. She left early after begging and pleading to go home. In her words, she couldn't
understand how human beings could treat other human beings in that way. The place is dirty with substandard furniture and bedding. You wouldn't leave an animal in this place.

Not a good place. My mum was in the hospital for a major operation and then transferred to Alexander Court for rehabilitation to get her mobile again. My mum is down and depressed, stuck in a room watching telly. Some of the staff are lovely. Please don't let your loved ones be in there.

My mother fell and fractured her pelvis in two places and fractured her pubic bone, she is 83 yr old and up until the fall, she was very active leading an independent life. The nurse came round dispensing medication offering tablets in a pot that was used for liquid medication and still had residue
in it. In the morning she complained the mattress was so uncomfortable she ached even more and slept poorly. The mattress was plastic covered, with the springs nearly popping through the cover, it was dirty and ripped. She was given two duvets to go on top of the mattress. No choice of menu offered, and delivered on a dirty trolley, and left out of reach. She asked a nurse for pain relief and was told with a finger in her face you only get pain medication when you are in pain, refusing my mum her prescribed tablets. Her legs were so swollen yet no offer from any staff to help elevate her legs.
The window was left open all night off its restrictors no blanket was offered despite saying the room was cold

My mother has been at the home for a relatively short time. Prior to this, it has been extremely difficult for me to accept I was no longer able to provide her with the care she needed. However, I can honestly say that placing her in full-time care, any concerns I may have had, have been blown out of
the water. My mother has settled in really well at Alexandra Grange, and I can find no fault with either the staff or establishment. The staff are very warm, welcoming and amenable towards myself, and more importantly, my mother. When visiting my mother, I find it a very relaxed atmosphere whilst always maintaining the high standard of professionalism required/expected of them. I would strongly recommend Alexandra Grange to provide care for a loved one!
