I would like to mention the extremely hard work of the Domestic staff (cleaners) and the ladies who work in the laundry. All staff consistently work tirelessly to contribute to the high standard of cleanliness within Derwent Care Home. The home is clean, tidy and always smells nice. My mum's clothes are always clean & fresh and well laundered carefully. Even though both teams have a lot of work to do they always have a smile, a song, a kind, welcoming word for residents & family. Even when often the conditions such as the heat are a big challenge.

My mam was admitted to the care home on 5 June 2026 after a period in hospital following a stroke. Her stay was short as she unfortunately died on 30 June 2026. I cannot say this enough - her care while in the home was amazing. Me and my family are truly thankful for this and cannot recommend Holly Lodge enough.

My mother was recently in Derwent for respite care, initially we were very weary about the whole process but the brilliant staff at Derwent couldn't have made the transition any smoother, they were very supportive and couldn't do enough for us as a family. The care my mam received was exceptional, the home itself is lovely, very clean and welcoming. There was always plenty of activities taking place. As a family we can't thank the staff at Derwent enough, we will definitely be returning to Derwent for any future respite care.

Staff were friendly and make a big effort to get to know my Nana and as a family we appreciated it.

Lovely home. Very homely. The staff are great, nothing is a bother. My room has amazing views of Derwent Valley. The care I get is outstanding. Thank you care staff.

My wife had excellent care, was very happy with everything and can not fault anything about the home. This is my first choice if my wife needs to go back into a home, as she was only on a respite. I am on OCP myself and could also stop in this home if ever I needed to.

Staff excellent, food really good as mam did put weight on which was good. Staff go above and beyond to help. Also, Dawn, the manager, is very friendly and helpful.

Staff were friendly and will do anything to help and support. We have discussed if Freda needs to go into a home again, as Freda was on respite. Holly Lodge is our first choice.

Outstanding in every way! I know my family member is being cared for and loved when we cannot be with her. Staff are amazing, food is fantastic, the home itself is beautiful with a bar and cafe area, always immaculate. My family member always looks happy, always lovely and clean, hair done, and well dressed. The management and staff are all hands-on and make a fantastic team. I have lived here for some time. The care is amazing. The staff are very friendly.

I have loved at Derwent for several months.The care I receive is very good I can not fault all the staff from the care staff to the cleaning team. I love living here and enjoy all the meals.

My wife Carol has been in your care since December last year and I am very pleased to see she is settling in which is nine weeks now. She has Alzheimer's but your staff are so supportive and caring so much thanks to all of your wonderful staff. I feel much more comfortable knowing that she is being cared for very well.
