Overall Experience

My mother spent the last 10 months of her life in the care of these wonderful people. She was treated with dignity, care and love by all the staff she was involved with. The manager (Donna) and Senior Carer (Kirsty) kept my sister and I up to date regularly during her final days. I can't recommend the

Dipton Manor Care Home has been absolutely outstanding in every way. The staff are incredibly kind, compassionate, and professional, always going the extra mile to ensure residents feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it feel like a true home rather

than just a facility. The care provided is tailored to individual needs, with great attention to detail, dignity, and emotional well-being. Communication with families is excellent, giving us peace of mind knowing our loved one is in such capable hands. The home is always clean, well-maintained, and offers a wide range of activities to keep residents engaged and happy. My dad has been a resident at Acorn Grange since October 2024, he has settled well, sometimes dad can be very challenging but all staff deal with any situation which might occur in a professional and respectful manner. My mum has been a resident for two and a half years. The home is superb. The staff are all friendly and caring to all. Any small issues been dealt with quickly. The home make a great effort to stimulate and entertain the residents with innovative ideas. It is immaculately clean at all times. I was impressed

with the live streaming of Newcastle Cathedral Christmas Church Service for residents and relatives to enjoy in the Chapel Room. The staff go above and beyond.

Just been to visit my mam again. The staff here are amazing, the way they deal with the residents, the patience they have, the effort they put in to being kind and lovely to the residents is really great to see. The residents had been to the park this morning, and were having a sing a long when I got

there. Earlier in the week they were playing bingo when I was there. Darlington Manor is a great place, a big big part of that is the staff. I love my mam being there.

Overall Experience

My mam is now living at Dipton Manor on a temporary basis, I was very skeptical and worried my mam's health could worsen, mam is still with the Dipton Manor and I have found every member of staff very caring and patient with everyone I see them care for. Occasionally they are short of staff because

of ie. illness, then all staff left rally around and help each other to ensure all and every patient is cared for correctly. When you go to Dipton Manor they make you feel very welcome and even silly questions I ask are always answered. I feel now mam has become stronger and her health is much better because of all her carers at the home.
Well done to everyone your jobs are not easy but all the caring you give makes me appreciate you all so much.

Overall Experience

Moved my mother into Dipton Manor in December 2023 and initially I was very impressed with the care she received, however after a few months this care declined rapidly. A number of head carers left in a short space of time and the turnover of care assistants increased to the point where I had no regular

point of contact, however more concerningly the standard of care dropped dramatically. My mother had an open sore to one of her legs which despite being pointed out by a junior member of staff went untreated for 3 days. This is just one example of a serious lack of care my mother received. After a series of other incidents I moved my mother to another home in August 2024 and to this date have had no communication from Dipton Manor management to discuss my concerns or ask why I felt the need to move my mother, a fact which I find unbelievable and sums up how the home is now run. I would not recommend this care home to anyone unless there are major changes made.

Overall Experience

All members of staff and carers are very pleasant and polite and if there's a problem they are all very approachable, and it's sorted as soon as it possibly can.
Recently I have noticed a shortage of care staff when a member rings in sick it puts more pressure on other staff and makes it harder for

them to keep an eye on the residents.

Overall Experience

My grandad has been at Acorn Grange care home now for 14 months, he has settled in well and as a family, we are happy with his overall care, the staff are amazing, from management to housekeeping! The care staff never stop, they go above and beyond and always act in the best interests of their residents.
The

building is always spotlessly clean, my Grandads room is homely, a great size, and suitable for his needs.
Any issues we have had as a family have been resolved promptly, communication is good & I'm grateful to all of the special staff, (there are too many to name) they have allowed and encouraged Grandad to be his "old self" he has such a great sense of humour and after the stroke it was lost for a while, but I'm pleased to say it has returned and it's great to see him laughing and causing chaos, something I didn't think we'd see again!

The bedroom and communal areas are always very clean and odour free.

Overall Experience

The staff are wonderful. The staff are what makes this care home truly different. They are always so pleasant, cheerful, and quickly helpful and always make me feel a very welcome visitor. I am welcome at mealtimes and was warmly invited to a lovely two-course lunch. The food is very good. On one visit

I witnessed the chef going around talking to residents about the menu items and references of residents. The building is always spotlessly clean and tidy. Care home work and management is very difficult. Darlington Manor management enables all the staff to come together and work not just as a good team but as a family. The result is a home, where all the staff are willing to go the extra mile with a pleasant smile and cheerful voice.

My review covers the three years my dad spent at the care home, daily telephone conversations and weekly visits. The consistent care continues right to the very end. Overall Experience

Fantastic manager and staff make this a wonderful place, giving genuine loving care to residents. Our mother-in-law has been a resident for nearly 4 years. She has advanced dementia and complex behavioural challenges. All staff treat her with respect and dignity and genuinely like her and care for her

brilliantly. The manager leads her team by displaying all the caring qualities one would wish for. Cannot recommend Darlington Manor Nursing Home highly enough.
