The care home itself and all its staff look after my mum very well and as a family we are pleased that my mum is at Queens House. All facets of QME seem very acceptable, her room is always nice, clean and tidy and Mum enjoys the food and her regular cups of tea.
Thank you for the lovely feedback, it means a great deal.
I am most grateful for the support with ensuring my brother’s attendance at his brother’s funeral. A minor concern is that a pair of reading glasses that was purchased went missing and my brother seems to have not been encouraged to use them beforehand. I believe that social services have organised for a new pair to be bought and I would hope that he is encouraged to use these and do whatever reading he can and that the glasses are kept safe for him.
Our sincerest apologies for the situation with your brother's glasses. We will be sure to keep these safe.
Superb care and accommodation, excellent food and programmes of activities. Staff are very professional and caring and create a gentle and supportive environment for their residents. My sister has settled well and appears happy and content, she loves the attention that staff give her and is comfortable in her new home. I have total confidence in the care that she has received. During the past two years.

My sister has settled into Queen's House very well and appears quite content. A family friend takes her out in the car twice a week, weather permitting, which provides some real change to the daily routine. Overall, it is working very well.
Thank you for your feedback, it means a great deal. We are also delighted that your sister has settled in so well!
My husband has been in Murray East for over four months now. Like many before me, I struggled with the idea that my dear husband of over 40 years should need to leave his own home to be cared for. Never once has any member of staff suggested that I could have managed with a bit more help at home - it wasn't available anyway. We have been loved and cared for and I know we are in the presence of professionals. I have observed how staff dealt with my husband and learnt so much. I have also seen some of the challenges they have to deal with - nothing is too much trouble. The calm and gentleness have blown me away. Of course, life is never 100% perfect and on the only occasion I spoke with management about something which upset me, it was dealt with promptly with immediate feedback to me.
The thing is my husband was in another care home for two months beforehand - so I know how exceptional Murray East is.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, it means a great deal.
On behalf of our mother and all her family, please accept these few words of gratitude as our token of appreciation to all the wonderful staff members at Queens House who have made mum's life so enjoyable and who provided her with such a wonderful 90th birthday party last week. She is as happy as she has been for many years and this is a testimony to you all. We are truly blessed to have such a quality care home in Kelso. Thank you.
Thank you for the lovely feedback, we have shared this with our teams and it means a great deal to us all.
We have been very impressed with Queens House and the level of service and support received. Mother is very happy and has settled in extremely well; she loves the interaction with all the staff, who are very engaging and friendly. Communications are good and timely, so the family feel well connected to the service.
Thank you for the lovely feedback, we have shared this with our teams and means a great deal to all of us.
Also, would like to see sun umbrellas provided and sunscreen for all residents outside in the sun on hot days, not just one tatty umbrella!
Thank you for your review, we have passed your positive feedback onto our team. We are sorry that you feel on this occasion there was a lack of communication. We have many lines of communication from the relative's gateway, weekly/quarterly newsletters, e-mail/telephone, and daily staff huddles. In...
Very good communication over Covid, and I was able to visit Mum for the majority of the time, Newsletters are very useful.
First class care. Superb staff who not only care for, support and show great kindness to the residents but also help and support me when feeling a bit low.
Staff are always very friendly, pleasant and generous with their time.
My husband is now at home in Murray & Evanthea House and I know he feels safe and secure.
Many, many thanks to all staff.
I have always found the staff to be caring, compassionate and respecting of the resident's privacy. If one of the residents has been upset, then a member of the care staff has responded quickly with reassurance and comfort. Every effort is made to cater for any requests, by the resident, with regard to meals, should they want something 'special' to them eg a request for bacon and eggs at 4.00 in the afternoon!
What wonderful caring staff at QME care. Mum's treated with dignity and respect, we are happy that's where she will be in the end and know she is treated with the utmost care and attention. Thank you.
My mum recently became a resident in Evanthea House. My initial contact with the home, through their website, gave me a very strong understanding of the underpinning ethos and values. This was very evident from my initial visit and in discussion with staff about my mum’s needs prior to her moving in.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. The kindness has been extended to the wider family. I feel that my mum is in a place where she is well looked after and safe and her wishes and needs are understood. Mum is always telling me how much she likes the staff and the food!
We love the environment, which is welcoming and spotless. It is so nice that each resident has their own outdoor space which they can access from their rooms. The fact that there are only 9 residents in Evanthea with a consistent staff team is very important to us. We are delighted with how well Mum has settled and this is down to the care she receives from the team around her.
Can not thank the staff enough especially the health care assistants.
