My aunt sadly passed away last month but had been at Abbey Dean Care Home for almost 7 years. The Proprietor, Manager and all the staff involved at the home have always been very kind, friendly and approachable. We were always kept informed of any changes that took place in my aunts care, and she had always been given the support to remain as independent and involved as possible. She was able to stay in the place she regarded as home, where she had a very peaceful and dignified end to her life with the staff she knew so well around her. Thank you all so much for your help and support.

Overall Experience
My mum was a resident at Abbey Dean for nearly 4 years, when she first went there she was I have to admit somewhat reluctant, but the staff were amazing with her. She had a beautiful room and fabulous carers.
Over the time she was in the home her health gradually deteriorated - but what can you expect when you are in your late 90's.
She loved her food, love the entertainment but more than anything she loved the nursing and caring staff, she was far from easy to manage at times but they were incredible with her.
I can honestly describe them all as Angels without wings - just everything any family could wish for. Over the last 9 months mum has been getting worse every day but was determined to hang on - she passed away 4 days after her 97th birthday, she was happy and comfortable and not in any pain.

The nurses who were with her remarkable, they have kept me going as we have been on this emotional rollercoaster and I can never thank them enough for all they did for us all.

I was lucky enough for Abbey Dean to care for my step mother and then my father for the last five years.
The care shown to my parents comes from the top down and could not have been kinder, more considered, discreet or respectful.
The team are keen to work with families for the benefit of their guests.
The variety of activities they are offered is excellent and everyone is encouraged to take part.
There are very clear processes and procedures in place to ensure that everything is very well managed. In particular the communication, they proactively update you about any concerns or if there are any incidents like a fall or there is something they need.
By giving petty cash to the management I am spared getting personal care items from the shops as they sort all this out for me.
The team also cared for me and my family when the going was tough, they had our backs.

I am very grateful to the team and would wholeheartedly recommend them for your loved ones.

It was a daunting prospect to find a home that could cater for my Mum with her Alzheimer's. What luck when the manager of Wolfe House contacted us, we arranged a personable meeting my mother and I, we were made to feel at ease and arranged to pay a visit to the home. I personally came away elated in that we had found the perfect place for my mother to see out her days nestled in the beautiful Oxted Surrey Hills area is this charming property that has 13 residents which means all the carers, from the second in command to the most amazing cook, all have a care of duty. You only have to visit to see for yourself. My mother was admitted to Wolfe's house in November, as I write we are nine days away from Christmas and I have to say every step of the way she has been cared for and loved. I rest at night knowing that she's in the right place. I cannot recommend Wolfe House and all their staff more, 110%! Thank you so much for your warmth and love. Kind regards.

Mum was admitted to Wolfe House Care Home after an extended stay in hospital. She has dementia and wasn't eating or sleeping and was extremely anxious when she first arrived. Thanks to the excellent care, patience and compassion shown by the lovely staff she settled and regained her appetite. Wolfe House is a very small care home and so the staff can give personal attention to the residents and the manager is always available to discuss any concerns you may have and offer advice. If you are looking for a small homely care home with lovely staff able to give your loved one personal attention, I would thoroughly recommend Wolfe House.

My father-in-law had vascular dementia, he was moved here from the hospital, in October 2021. The manager helped me fill in all the relevant paperwork. The care he received, up to the day he passed, April 2023, was so good and would recommend Wolfe House as a very friendly home from home.

My mum was a resident of Wolfe House Care Home for the last few months of her life, they coped with her rapidly deteriorating health, with compassion and professionalism. The management team and every member of staff showed my mum great kindness and understanding, they were extremely supportive of me during this short but difficult period and I will never be able to thank them enough.

I spent quite a bit of time at the home at different times of the day, it was always clean and calm, call bells were answered quickly and all residents were treated with respect, dignity, patience and good humour. It is a lovely comfortable, home-from-home environment and being a small team, I felt there was continuity of care which meant I could rest easy knowing my mum was safe and well cared for, I would highly recommend Wolfe House.

Mum has Alzheimer's and moved into Wolfe House last August. I have been so impressed by the home and all the staff, which has made the transition so much easier for us all. The manager leads by example and is always there to give good advice. The care team have such a lovely way with the residents and I’ve witnessed many kind moments of a stroke of the cheek or a hand being held. As soon as you walk in you feel calm in the knowledge that your loved one is being looked after in such a positive way. Mum always says how lovely the food is too. There is also regular entertainment and activities. I really can’t thank them enough.

My mum was cared for by a wonderful team, who showed the kind of respect and care we would all like to receive if we find ourselves in need of residential care. The manager really gets involved and puts herself out to secure the best possible care needed. My mum felt happy and contented, even though she suffered with some dementia she genuinely couldn’t have been in a better place. Covid rules were adhered to, but visiting was always implemented with sensitivity and always with Mum's well-being at heart. I can’t thank everyone enough for making my mum feel like the special lady that she was.

I choose Wolfe House Care Home for my dad because it is a small, quiet, family-run home without the presence of the big named establishment. He always says "they take good care of me here" and my dad looks 10 years younger since he moved in. He seems happy which make me happy.

The resident has been here since lockdown having no longer to be able to return to her own home. Social services found Wolfe House which I visited beforehand everyone was friendly and could see everyone was looked after and happy. Kept up to date with changes in care and Covid-19 updates via email.

My mum went into Wolfe House in December 2019 and prior to her moving in they redecorated her room in quick time. The level of care and compassion of staff is excellent and the management team run it so well. The preparations they made during Covid-19 Pandemic, sourcing their own PPE locking down early ensured the residents were well protected and no cases reported. The entertainment and stimulus they provide are very good and the residents and mum look happy when we visit.

Overall Experience

My mum moved to Abbey Dean from London at the beginning of January and I was so pleased to have had three months to help settle her in before the lockdown was imposed. As a dementia sufferer, she has struggled to understand why I haven't been able to visit her. But the Skype calls and, more recently, the garden visits have been reassuring for me. The carers are very supportive during my difficult visits and clearly care about her well being. The meals are exceptional and I know mum now enjoys her food much more than when she lived alone. She has a lovely, bright, cosy room which we have been encouraged to personalise. The manager is very professional in her approach to running the care home and the care that was taken to keep everyone safe during the Coronavirus outbreak was exceptional. The owner is very approachable and understanding of everyone's personal situation. We really struck gold when we found Abbey Dean. Mum is well cared for and happy.

Review of Abbey Dean from Jane (Daughter of Resident) published on 1 July 2020 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Our mum has stayed at Abbey Dean for five years now. The staff is always cheerful, friendly and very caring of the residents. The food is home-cooked and delicious and the kitchen provides a varied menu and caters for all tastes. Wonderful cakes are made to celebrate residents' birthdays.
Abbey Dean has a lovely rear garden for residents to enjoy and it is home to the annual Summer Fair with music, raffle and afternoon tea (sadly not this year due to the Lockdown). At the opposite end of the year, the home holds a Christmas Party with entertainment, food and thoughtful gifts for all the residents.

Abbey Dean locked down early and has put strict measures in place throughout the pandemic. As a result, it has remained free from infection due to the diligence and care shown by every member of staff.

My mum was a resident in Abbey Dean for just under two years and would have stayed longer, but she now needs nursing help which Abbey Dean cannot offer.
Abbey Dean provides a home from home environment and Mum was able to have items from her home at the care home. The staff have all been wonderful and Mum enjoyed the activities arranged by the home particularly the gardening club and the musical activities.
The staff always were welcoming when the family visited and treated Mum with courtesy and kindness. The food was great and all residents are included in food choices.

I would not hesitate to recommend the home to anyone and would be happy to answer any questions.

My mother went in to Abbey Dean for respite care for the second time where we knew she would be happy and settled again. At first she was more than happy to stay in her room as she is hard of hearing and found it difficult to mix with other residents but the staff slowly encouraged her to sit in the garden where she started to chat to others. Now she is very happy and having a much more fulfilled life and will be staying permanently at Abbey Dean.
I can truly say that we have no worries about my mother's care, she loves her food and is much more healthy now than when she arrived from having a good choice of home-cooked food. The staff have been excellent and very caring on all levels from plenty of cups of tea and biscuits and a chat and when needed help in the middle of the night.

I would thoroughly recommend Abbey Dean without hesitation.

My mum entered Abbey Dean quite poorly after a bad fall. With love patience and lots of encouragement and support mum is now back on her feet. I have peace of mind that mum is safe. I have praise for all the staff and their leader. Mum recently had a birthday in lockdown and her day was made special topped off with a cake that looked delicious. Mum loves the food, her room is also nice and cozy with quite a good view. It has been difficult in lockdown but the staff have managed to stimulate with activities. In normal times there are lots of talks and entertainment. It is nice to know mum is being so well looked after.
