Care Homes Owned by Constantia Healthcare Group in North Yorkshire

We used St Johns House for the first time at the end of August for a week of respite care for my 91 year old dad. I found the home very welcoming. The manager, Darius, showed us around and was very thorough and patient. We were introduced to staff and shown the room and communal areas. Darius let us know when the room was ready as it was being refurbished and dad went in for a week. When he arrived he was made to feel very welcome by all the staff and other residents. He enjoyed the food, especially the puddings, and said the staff were very attentive during his stay. He liked the other residents and said it has a very homely feel.

The Millings is a lovely happy home from home, caring and helpful staff, a great garden which encourages mobility, a gem! My mother is very happy here and I would thoroughly recommend. My mother in law was also a resident.

The Millings is a wonderful home for my Mum who is receiving amazing care from the dedicated, kind and generous staff. The Millings is consistently well run, with activities for their residents which provide daily varied entertainment and enjoyment. I cannot recommend The Millings highly enough and am so grateful for their amazing dedication to providing their residents with a home from home environment.

We have visited my sister at St John's House twice recently and we were delighted to find her so happy and looking far brighter than she has been for a long time now before she made St John's her home. The staff at the home were very welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble for them. My sister's accommodation is very comfortable, so much so that she told us she liked this "hotel" very much! I would seriously recommend St Johns to anyone looking for a very good care home!

Mum looks forward to the activities that take place daily, and we join in when we are there, and it is lovely to see her having a laugh and having a go at everything.

Dad has been resident for over a year now and his needs are increasing. When speaking to staff members they are all aware of his well being and always happy to answer questions and offer assistance when approached. There are times when they appear to be understaffed and they are very busy, but I've always found them to be polite and helpful. I feel happy to be in the Millings and ask for help.

Comfortable rooms

The Millings has a calm quiet environment from the minute you walk in through the door. Any residents you meet on your way to your family member always say hello and seem very content.

It has a warm, friendly appeal when you enter the building.

The staff are helpful and extremely friendly and nothing seems any trouble.

Finally two practical considerations: St John's seemed the best of all the care homes we viewed and was considerably cheaper than the others on our shortlist, which were in Harrogate. And we blessed the location, which was so easy and stress free to get to, particularly for my elderly dad.

It was a joy to visit our friend during her final few weeks in The Millings where she was so happy and appreciative of the loving care she was blessed to receive from every member of staff. As visitors, my wife and I were also welcomed with care and compassion at a sad time. Thank you.

My mother had a two weeks respite stay. Her stay was excellent. She is extremely satisfied with the home, its cleanliness, the staff, the state of repair and decoration. She was particularly impressed with the staff. One observation though is there could be a waterproof chair available in the bathroom to aid someone like her with a degree of limited mobility.

My mum has been a resident now for 6 months and has settled in very well to the surrondings,staff are very helpful,mum enjoys the meals and a good choice.There are never any issues on bringing her out for tea and returning her later about 9pm.Overall a very well run care home.

A very friendly and welcoming environment, care staff lovely. I do feel is a little light on care staff at times, however they are all doing their very best. I have worked in this environment myself and that little extra time that can be given is everything to residents.

The staff are quite simply amazing! From the Management Team to the wonderful ladies who do the cleaning & laundry, everyone works so hard to make it an exceptional Care Home. The communication is fantastic, the staff are very helpful & friendly & I know Mum is being so well cared for by everyone. The staff are all brilliant at what they do...& they do it all with a smile! I've been so impressed by each & every one of them & I'm so grateful.

I always receive a very warm welcome from all the hard working carers. Everything is kept beautiful and clean and the grounds are amazing. Lots of activities and family involvement and the food always looks wonderful.
