Thank you everyone.
My grandad had a 6 week placement for rehab following a fall and dislocated shoulder. He was given a room on the second floor, despite not having dementia. Prior to going into the care home he was fully capacitated and physically able, living independently. Throughout his time in Cherry Tree, it felt that his voice was ignored resulting in him being put to bed early, often fully clothed, despite telling staff he did not have his pyjamas on. He was not given a TV remote limiting his independence on when he watched TV and what time he went to bed. He complained that the shower was cold and told this was an issue with the boiler. He also complained of cold food. He developed diarrhoea that was only raised to medical staff due to persistent concerns raised by family. Due to a loss of independence and increased time spent in bed my grandad had severe pressure sores that were not fully disclosed to family by staff. My grandad was then admitted into hospital with flu and pneumonia and sadly passed away. I would not recommend this care home to anyone.
The family did raise concerns and actions were taken but the general caretaking, keeping Mum clean was a big disappointment and the constant serving of cold food was a disgrace!
My daughter is currently in this nursing home and has been there for the last couple of months. The staff and management are all kind, welcoming, and extremely hard-working. My daughter suffers from paranoid schizophrenia which can be challenging at times however, since she has been living at Primrose Court she has been safe and looked after extremely well.
Thank you for your comments, we thank the staff at Primrose Court, who are doing an excellent job.
As parents, we have been treated with respect by the cheerful staff. We have witnessed big improvements to the standard of care given to all the residents under often very trying circumstances.
Although my mum spent a short time in Cherry Tree Care Centre, I can honestly say that she received exceptional care. The staff are amazing, they engage with the residents and treat them like their own family. The home is clean and tidy and doesn't smell and that is a big thing in my eyes. Care plans were put in place as soon as my mum arrived, she was assessed straight away and they contacted the relevant people to make sure she had the right care and equipment. They looked after my Dad whilst visiting my mum and made sure he was ok at such a difficult time in our lives. Thank you to each and every one of you, I couldn't wish for my mum to be anywhere else.
My family member speaks of a very good experience within this care home during her recent respite stay. Staff are attentive and fast-acting. Plenty of staff at hand which was one of the main points I looked for when looking for my mother-in-law's stay. Food looked lovely and nutritious and any queries I had as a family member were addressed and attended to in a fast and safe manner. Will be recommending to family and friends and will 100% be using this service again for further respite stays.
I have been very impressed by the changes made to Cherry Tree Centre since the new manager came. The new furniture, colours to doors has made such an improvement to the overall atmosphere in the home. The staff appear to be more relaxed and happy since the new manager and I feel that there is a great effort to respond to individual needs and to respect the privacy of individual residents.
The carers are really good with everyone and will help you if you need it. The only problem I have is the turnover of carers. They seem to be one gone and one come every week so it is hard to have good communication with them and at times they seem very thin on the ground.
The staff have always been very helpful towards ourselves. My sister's care is very good and she is extremely happy. The home is always clean and tidy.
Everyone very helpful from the minute you walk in the door. All the staff have made improvements to my mum's wellbeing since her arrival.
My husband seems very happy and settled and I am happy that he is safe and secure and being well looked after.
I found Cherry Tree a nice friendly place, the residents look well cared for and the rooms are clean and tidy.
A big thank you to all the staff for making my mum feel right at home!
A bright, clean care home with pleasant and helpful staff. Home from home atmosphere.
I find the staff very friendly and helpful.
I have been at Cherry Tree Care Centre since June 2017 I moved from another care home.
I feel totally relaxed knowing mum is warm, looked after and well fed.
As soon as you walk into the foyer you are greeted by happy residents and care staff. The manager is always full of smiles and chatty as is the admin lady. The home is always bright and smells fresh. My mum is happy as larry since she moved.
She is happy and she socialises more as its lovely that she can sit in the foyer and interact. I can't praise all the staff enough from the cleaners up to the manager. Thank you Cherry Tree for making my mum's life happy, which in turn makes ours happy too.
Some days I like it and some days I am low and want to go somewhere else.
