All the staff are very helpful and caring. The meals are made from scratch, fresh every day. The residents are made very welcome and taken on different outings each month. The staff also have projects that they do to entertain residents within the home too. I had the pleasure to watch them decorate Christmas cakes. This is a home and environment that I would want for myself, when the time comes. I would recommend St Georges!

My Dad has been at St Georges since December last year. Initially as a temporary resident but now permanent following the death of my Mother. Can't fault the care my Dad has got from St Georges, he is very happy there and now calls it his home. The staff also managed the rapid demise of my Mum very caringly and made sure my Dad was ok throughout.

We were also able to hold the wake following my Mum's funeral at St Georges. This was great and we really appreciate the effort that Simon, Zoe and the team put in to organise it. It made a sad day a bit less sad.

Overall Experience

St George's Nursing Home provides a consistently high standard of professional care in a calm, organised, and well-managed environment. Our family's experience has been very positive, regarding residential care and in how the home supports families.

Dad is a resident at St George's, and the quality of his day-to-day care has been dependable and well delivered. Staff are attentive, courteous, and professional in all interactions. The atmosphere within the home is calm and reassuring, which reflects strong leadership and good teamwork among staff.

In addition to Dad's ongoing care, we also held a family funeral at St George's. The arrangements were managed efficiently and with appropriate sensitivity. Staff handled the logistics discreetly and competently, allowing for a successful event.

St George's Nursing Home is a well-run care facility with high professional standards. Families can have confidence that residents are supported with dignity, reliability, and respect.

The staff are always hard working and they are very attentive.

They are always there to help, unlock the doors or help with anything else. The home is always clean and smells fresh. I am told, by the relative I visit, that the food is always good and nothing is too much trouble by the chef, who will cater to all tastes.

My mother in law moved to St George's from another care home, where she had been for 7 months. St Georges is amazing, from the kind and welcoming staff, to the amazing food to the superb activities. My mother in law has had.more stimulation and attention in 4 weeks than she did in 7 months. It is a pleasure to.go.in and not have to worry about her. All the different rooms in the home are lovely and it feels very homely, where you can make a cuppa, stay for lunch if you want to. , join in with the activities ( which i have to say are brilliant, from meeting children. Having a cuddle with dogs, making puppets, lovely mothers and St Patrick's day celebrations )

I've found my pot of Gold!

Living with Dementia can be devastating for the individual and, the carer. So when you take that next step of looking for a home and I emphasise home, as that is what we all ultimately want. It is paramount that the Team of staff are fully understanding of the complexities of Dementia. The surroundings are safe, warm, friendly, homely, with lots of engagement. St George's meets all those criteria and more!

Mum has only been at St George's for a short while and that has allowed me to relax, smile and feel calmer for the first time in a very long time. Mum is settling in well in her new home, the staff always use names and have wonderful smiles for everyone. The medical Team are approachable and professional. Mum's room is warm, cosy and feels very homely and safe, a lovely space if you just want quiet time together, although mum is beginning to enjoy the laughter and frivolities that are always taking place!!

And the food, goodness, it is superb!!!!

My Mum has been a resident at St George's for 18 months following 3 strokes and needing peg feeding and all care.

I am a Nurse myself and the standard of care is second to none. I have always been extremely happy that all my Mums care needs are met with such high standards of care and dignity. As a family we feel very supported by Simon and his team and can not thank everyone enough for allowing us complete peace of mind that Mum could not be cared for so well anywhere else.

Isobel had a major stroke in February and was severely affected incl loss of swallow and speech. In May she was ready for her discharge from hospital. But not well enough to come home. So she went to St Georges Nursing Home, particularly as they are experienced in "peg" feeding. She enjoyed good care and kindness and made good progress being able to eat all the food she needs by the end of September, returning to our home early November. All thanks to the nursing and care at St Georges.

My mum was a resident at St.Georges for 18 months. She was well looked after. Her room was bright and clean. In her first few months she enjoyed sitting downstairs in the brightly coloured tea room, though not really able to join in with the regular activities. She enjoyed walking around the garden in the central area of the nursing home. It was lovely for her to get some fresh air in a pretty area. It would be great to have more shrubs and some winter flowering plants. Sadly, mum's dementia progressed quite quickly. We were able to move her to a room nearer the nurses office as she tended to wander around. The carers were very friendly and took the time to talk to us about my mum. I am very happy she the manager there for her last few months before she passed away.

I was much happier being able to communicate with the different levels of staff. And the staff themselves felt more valued since his arrival. Thank you to the staff and other relatives for their kindness.

From my Dads first home visit for assessment, respite care for two weeks in December and then he returned in January 2025 weeks as a family we found the care home to be welcoming to the family, my Dads care by the nursing staff to show my Dad respect, dignity and excellent care for a proud man.
Nothing was too much trouble, staff available for questions and visiting was if and when we wanted to.

Although this is a Nursing home, it is a care home for dementia patients as well.

My dad, moved into St George's In October after a long spell in hospital. Nursing home is amazing. All the care staff are wonderful with him, he has entered into the severe stage of his dementia journey. Everyone is kind friendly and caring. Dad is very confused and that is frightening for him. The staff treat him with respect , kindness and understand his needs.
The housekeeping and Laundry staff are amazing .The facilities are spotless clean, dad's room is airy and bright. Dad, always gets his clothes and blankets back, smelling great. Nothing has been lost.
The Chef and kitchen staff have been wonderful at accommodating dad's dietary requirement. The food always looks and smells amazing. Dad does enjoy his freshly baked cakes.
Dad has been a bit poorly and the nurses have acted straight away to get dad the treatment and support that he has needed.
St George is what excellent dementia care looks likes. We can't fault it.

Thank to everyone are St George's for looking after my dad.

My parents moved into St Georges Nursing Home in the spring. It was a huge step for them to leave their cherished house and we thought carefully about what support they would need and how this could best be done with the minimum of trauma.
The staff at St Georges gave the whole family constant help, advice and reassurance throughout the time it took for my parents to adjust to their new surroundings and settle in. Rooms and routines were established and nursing advice was constantly available.
One of the best reasons for them adapting to their new lifestyle was the daily provision of activities available. These enabled Mum and Dad to 'live in the moment' make new friends and never be bored!
Another winning provision was the exceptional meals cooked by a talented chef and his team.

Personal care and companionship in the home were very well administered by committed staff. We thank St Georges for all they have done to instil our trust that Mum and Dad are in the safest possible hands.

Dad was accepted at St Georges just over a week ago, and already I can see a difference in him. Under new management - one of vast experience and pragmatic in every way. From small steps to big changes all involving the 'household' model which brings independence to all the residents and a sense of community from living in small units. We rang St George’s nursing home to ask if they had a bed free for our mum who we wanted to there asap. This was our first choice of home as we had visited family there previously and always thought how nice it was. We were invited to view 2 rooms later that day. We were shown around the home and introduced to staff as we passed them, everyone was friendly and caring. The home was immaculate. The resident liaison manager went to the hospital to assess Mum and a few days later we had confirmation they could take her. She has now settled in and is very happy there. The staff took the time to get to know her likes and dislikes and we are very happy knowing that she is being well cared for.
