After the passing of Mr Reg W, the staff agreed to host food and drink for a wake. As Mrs Brenda W is still a resident, this was much appreciated. The staff provided an excellent buffet and as always served with a smile and nothing was too much to ask.

My sister is in The Grove. She has been looked after very well. She seems happy and is content in her own way. The staff are very helpful and proffessional, and nothing is too much trouble. They are kind and considerate. They are very good at difusing a situation before it begins. I have nothing but
praise for them all.

My Mum has only been at Olive Tree House for just over two weeks now, I just want to say what a fantastic home this is.
Her previous two Nursing homes do not compare to Olive Tree House. We have found a little gem.
Nothing is to much trouble for the carers. I have found all of the Management team ,
Nurses and carers to be very friendly.
I visited the home twice, on my second visit I knew that Olive Tree House was the place to put my Mum.
My visit was not rushed, I spent over half hour being shown round by one of the team leaders.
On the third day of Mum being there, I took her round all four floors of the building, every member of staff acknowledged us on every floor.
The entrance is very warm and welcoming, there is also an area where you can help yourself to a hot or cold drink.
I know I have made the right decision placing Mum here, I always get a warm welcome form all the team when I go to visit Mum.
Reply from Helen Jones, CEO at Olive Tree HouseHello,

My Dad's been at Olive Tree House for 5 weeks now & I just wanted to review it so others know what to expect & perhaps to make the very stressful time of putting a relative in a home a little easier.
We took a chance and didn't even come & look round the home, Dad was admitted straight from hospital,
so I trusted that the home the NHS were sending him to would be ok, we were under so much stress it was just easier that way, and WOW!! We really have struck lucky, Olive Tree House is lovely, it's very modern only being about ten years old & purpose built, so everything works, just as it is, not like when an old mansion house has been converted & the lifts aren't even in the right place etc!!
When you first come in, it's a bit like coming into a hotel, there's a lovely cheery receptionist on duty and from then on in the staff are just lovely, nothing is too much trouble for them & they are all really kind to Dad!
Honestly, we absolutely can't fault it!! And the food is great!!!
Reply from Helen Jones, CEO at Olive Tree HouseHello,
It is very kind of you to write an review to inform other people making the placement decision. This is such a difficult, stressful time and no one ever really expects to be in that situation. So I am sure your kind words will help many people, thank you. I know also that my lovely colleagues in Olive Tree House will be thrilled to read your review. Dad has been a resident for 1 1/2 years.
All the staff I have met show empathy, kindness and compassion, alongside a big smile! Care is given in a considerate and respectful manner, taking into account the individual's mood at all times.
There is a 'home from home' feel.It is always clean, tidy and
comfortable but more importantly all staff interact with Dad, giving him great care but flexible in approach and time, to meet his individual needs, be it personal hygiene, administration of meditation, support at meal times or involvement in the activities.
Outstanding communication and updates from all staff. Nurses and care staff always give time or reassurance if concerns. The managers have an open door , literally; know the residents and support practically.
Huge and very varied calendar of daily activities, with enthusiastic Activities Co-ordinator. My Dad enjoys the music sessions and if we are unable to visit on those days, the staff ensure he is taken along.
Thank you Blossom.

Mum came to Blossom Fields as part of a Pathway 3 assessment after a nasty fall and stint in hospital. We visited her on a daily basis, all the staff were lovely, they always had a smile on their face. They looked after mum very well, checked in on her regularly. The chef ordered in Granola for her
as that's her choice of breakfast. The room was spacious with a large bathroom. Would highly recommend Blossom Fields.

We are very happy with the care being provided for my father. The nurses are very friendly, helpful and conscientious. He is eating and drinking well, which the nurses help him with. The doctors and nurses are all very professional, and he receives all the medication that he needs. He has been doing
very well since he entered the care home last May. He has made one visit to the lounge for a group entertainment, which he enjoyed very much. He also enjoyed a recent visit by a singer to his room. We visit him every week and play old songs to him which he enjoys. Overall, we are very pleased with the care he is receiving in the care home.

The care home staff are exceptional, with our fathers best interest at heart, they listen well, tailor their care to the patients requirements, are always friendly and helpful. They want to understand personal likes of our father so that they can tailor food and activities to meet his needs. I found
management to be helpful and very responsive, explaining every step of the process well. The facilities are clean and tidy and modern without too many frills which are often surplus to requirements. I would definitely recommend this care home.

I cannot recommend Blossom Fields highly enough, it is truly outstanding!
Mum has been a resident for just over 4 years now and, as her needs have increased the care has been adjusted pro actively to ensure all her needs continue to be met.
I have yet to meet a member of staff who doesn't have a smile
on their face! Every staff member, cleaners, kitchen staff, care workers, activity personnel, nursing staff, reception, and management are all approachable & considerate in ensuring Mums happiness & well being is catered for.
I must add a special thank you to Carole who started singing with Mum & taught two lovely care workers, both young men, Hesham & Dilshan the words to some old songs. They now serenade her whilst showering & dressing her. Totally brilliant. Thank you all very, very much.

I feel the care is very good and as a nurse RN I cannot fault how ever the food that you serve is sub optimal and I am unsure of the qualifations of your current chef
He is serving frail elderly patients with complex needs and needs to serve appealing food that meets essential nutriantal requirements
Namely protein carbohydrates and vitamins and minerals unfortunately this is not happening . I have not seen one piece of fresh fruit or even stewed fruit
Please learn what foods go together spaghetti and chips are 2 carbohydrates and don't belong together
The nursing care from HCA sis very caring
Reply from Helen Jones, CEO at Olive Tree HouseHello,
Thank you for your feedback. I am really pleased to see you've recognised the good quality of our care, however I am not at all pleased to read the food related comments. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Our chefs are all qualified and we have nutritionally balanced menus to make sure Residents receive not only delicious food but nutritionally balanced as well. I will ask our Food Service Portfolio Leader to review the food service and make sure it is always up to standards. I note also your other ratings and will ask our Manager to review our housekeeping processes also. Whilst I would always rather hear that we're getting everything right, I am very grateful to find out from you what isn't right so we can fix it. Thank you, Helen
