My husband has been a resident at Waterside Nursing Home since the 2nd June 26
From day one I have experienced kindness and caring staff from the management, staff and cleaners.
Nothing is too much for them to do.
The meals are lovely and freshly cooked on the premises.

The nursing home is a lovely place of me to visit. Very nice decor and a lovely space outside.

Reply from Jo Aitken, Home Manager at Waterside House Nursing Home

Thank you so much for such a lovely review. We know how important it is that Waterside feels like somewhere you can enjoy coming to visit your husband, rather than simply somewhere he lives, so it's especially lovely to hear that you feel comfortable and welcome here too. I'll make sure your kind...

We are so pleased that my mother in law is being cared for at Waterside house. We are really happy with everything about the nursing home. She has an amazing room with, fantastic views. She could not receive better care anywhere else. She loves all of the staff and they make alot of fuss of her, which she loves.
She is bed bound and has regular visits from staff members. She is always clean and her bedding is regularly changed.
My mother-in-law loves the food at Waterside and there is always a good choice.

It is piece of mind for the family that she is here and so well cared for.

Today I collect mum from Waterside House where she's been rehabilitating for 3 months. In all that time the support and care she has been giving is exceptional. All of the staff are professional, kind, and show real interest in their residents along with going that extra mile when needed.
Mum has felt safe, cared for and enjoyed the care homes amenities, food and setting which is very nice!
Her room was a good size, very clean and well kept. She spent most of her time in the communal areas which she enjoyed.
Really nice care home which I and mum would recommend to everyone.

Thank you Waterside House

Review of Ranvilles Nursing Home from Archie W (Brother of Resident) published on 21 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I have a family member who has resided at Ranvilles Nursing Home for several years. Being of a certain age I have visited family and friends in various care homes and from those experiences I can merit Ranvilles as being exceptional. I have always found the care staff to be warm and compassionate and very caring of residents both individually and as a whole. No matter what time of day they invariable have a smile on their faces. It's not an easy job but here it is carried out so well!
The public areas as well as the individual resident's room are very well maintained and clean. Importantly throughout his stay the home has always communicated with us in a professional manner and given clear information on any conditions that arose.

Sadly he recently died and I cannot thank the staff highly enough for their support and expressions of sympathy during this difficult time.

My mother in law has been in Ranvilles for over 3 years now and was placed here from hospital. The care she has received is exemplary as she was quite a difficult person when she first went in . Since then her mental and physical health have deteriorated due to illnesses and we have been contacted with any changes that have happened. We can go at any time to visit and can call if needed. All of the staff are always happy to help and we have never had a worries about her being there. We as a family would like to thank everyone that has been involved with her care. Thank you.

Review of Waterside House Nursing Home from M C (Friend of Resident) published on 22 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Initially it was difficult to identify different grades of staff. As no display board. It was hard to identify who was management, who were senior nurses, who were housekeepers. Everyone was welcoming no matter what level they were in the home. They looked happy and appeared to be caring for the residents who were in the communal areas. I was quiet shocked that the main lift was broken for the whole of my husbands stay. I am disabled and I use a walker and it was a very long walk to the lift that was working. The general cleanliness of the home, considering how large it is, well cared for. There were plenty of break out areas. It was very warm the decor was very clean and maintained. My husbands room was rather small. It did have an en suite which certainly helped with previous incontinence. He was able to " go when he needed" which he was very pleased about. After an initial settling period he became more settled in himself. He loves the food. He was happy to socialise when he wanted.

Thank you for your feedback, it is so appreciated. Review of Waterside House Nursing Home from T I (Daughter of Resident) published on 15 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother has been at Waterside for 4 months and is very happy, feels safe and cared for. There is something special about Waterside, a feeling of being welcomed into a family. The open plan layout means mum can wheel her chair wherever she wants through the various light and airy lounges, seating areas and dining room, giving her a sense of independence. All the staff are friendly, kind and patient and each visit is greeted with a smile and an offer of tea and biscuits! The food is excellent, nutritious and plentiful. Mum's ensuite room is beautiful with a view over the garden and the distant water. I feel content and at peace when I leave her knowing she is safe, cared for, loved and happy. The nursing staff keep in contact with me regularly about any issues relating to her health. A difficult decision to put my mum into residential care after 11 years looking after her, has been made more bearable with the support and kindness from Waterside. Highly recommended.

Review of Waterside House Nursing Home from William T (Nephew of Resident) published on 27 March 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Waterside have created an environment that is safe, loving, bright and comforting and it's location by the sea is very special. Access to the home is 24/7 and this availability gives you as a relative massive confidence that there is nothing to hide. Waterside will live or die by it's staff, from the very top, down to the carers on each shift, there has been compiled a dedicated, empathetic team of people that complete their work with compassion and a softness that can only be applauded.

My Aunt is part of a community that provides constant stimulation and social interactions. She shares lunch with other residents in a beautiful dining room, eating freshly cooked meals sometimes to order. Her condition can make her vacant and difficult to reach, but with perseverance you can get through. The longer she has been at waterside the more frequent the occasions have become. My Aunt is safe, she has stability she is protected. Waterside has given back her dignity and quality of life.
