This Christmas was made extra special by how we were greeted at Silver Birch Care Home.on Christmas Eve as all the staff at the Home had dressed up in festive attire and were so joyful and singing to all the residents and their families. Drinks and food were flowing. It was quite overwhelming because
we had such a wonderful experience. Each and every one of the staff on mum's floor were so jolly and joyful it felt as though they were part of our family and in a way I guess they are. The staff cannot do enough to make you feel welcome and the care and support they give to our mum is exceptional. Christmas Day as soon as we entered the Home Sophie, the Manager was such a welcoming sight, so happy to welcome guests who were visiting and on hand for anything you required. People forget that Management and staff have their own families too but I can honestly say I felt they put their residents first. I know in my heart my mum is well cared for and we couldn't ask for anything more.

I spent the New Year at Silver Birch to be with my 97 year old mum. We enjoyed two lovely afternoons, planned by the entertainment staff. There was a karaoke party and a singer. It was lovely to see the residents joining in with the singing and a few who were able to have a dance, including my mum.
During the karaoke party, two of the carers sang to the residents. It was very touching to see. I think the staff are very kind and caring and go above and beyond for their residents. I must also mention the reception staff, who are always there to welcome relatives. Well done to you all.

I am an advocate for a resident who has resided at Grand View since November 2021 living, firstly on the ground floor, moving to the 2nd, nursing floor, a few months ago. Her care is overall excellent. She's always in clean clothes, is comfortable and well fed.
The ratio of staff to resident at GV
is good, sometimes boosted by agency workers who are mostly familiar to the residents. I understand that recruitment has secured additional carers which should minimise the need for this, however.
Although my resident does not partake in the activities on offer (which are many and varied) she does enjoy the one to one connections given.
Overall, Grand View provide a safe, professional place offering support and personal care which is excellent.

Aspen Manor has been incredibly supportive during a difficult time for mum, whose day to day needs can be variable and decisions change similarly. The increased socialisation and activities mean she is often more animated and definitely more stimulated than living in isolation at home. The staff are
caring and during a recent illness, it was reassuring to know that they were monitoring mum more closely. Knowing that she is safe, with staff on hand 24 hours a day is an immense relief.

My father has been a dementia resident at Grand View in Stamford for over a year now and once again is receiving poor care. Just this week I have visited twice and both times on arrival he was wet through. Today I was told he hadn't been checked on for 5 hours to see if he needed the toilet.
They have
lost or damaged his expensive hearing aids numerous times. They even ran out of his medications more than once!
Far too many agency staff and a lack of activities is often apparent with residents just dumped in the communal lounge area for hours on end with nothing to do.
Fancy facilities that hardly get used and a brand new minibus that has sat in the car park unused for months. We now understand this is due to a recruitment issue that is being resolved. The care home itself is fitted out to a high standard and the food has always been good but repeatedly reporting the same issues is exhausting.
We are expecting vast improvements following in depth discussions with the owner.

I have lived in Grand View for over a year and now call it my home. We are well cared fr by the staff. Who are willing to give us time with the tasks of living and are also helpful, listening to worries and meals, comforting and patient on down & sad days. We are encouraged to take advantage of the
good days in the garden either to sit quietly or join in one of the many activities planned by the entertainment staff. We are offered a choice of meals each day & can choose from an additional menu if preferred. Outside entertainment come frequently, music and games, visits from animals are particularly enjoyable. Someone is always on call for help, day and night. I am very pleased to have this home recommend by my daughter, where I can end my days comfortable and happy. This home is bright, airy and very comfortable. The care both day and night is very good. The meals are to our own choice, varied and attractively served. Notie is taken of any problems and helped by the staff, and personal preferences are noted. Help is always available. There are plenty of visiting entertainment offered and contact with the local community.

Prior to my Brother moving into Silver Birch I had received recommendations from friends that this was a lovely home and would be an ideal place for my Brother to receive palliative care. From first contact with the Manager Sophie, Nursing Lead Chelsey, Deputy Manager Craig and Customer Services
Manager Emma my family and I have witnessed and received nothing but care, compassion and professionalism regarding the care of my Brother. The home is lovely insofar as it feels more like a top class hotel than it does a care home. There is always a friendly welcome from reception and all staff, be they nursing, care or domestic - too many to name were so polite and attentive, , nothing was too much trouble. Everywhere was also so clean and fresh throughout, which makes for such a nice place to visit anytime. I would not hesitate to recommend Silver Birch and Sophie and her team to anyone. Thank you all.

the management and staff are not only highly professional but also very caring in their contact with residents and their family.
They always have the residents wellbeing at heart, ensuring that they are happy and as active as they are able.
From the carers to the activities team, hairdresser, maintenance
team, kitchen staff and the laundry team, nothing is too much trouble, an ethos which is fully encouraged by the management team.
Overall, this is a very supportive and caring care home which also reflects the input of the owner who can often be seen at the coal face and always has a friendly word for everyone

My experience of the care and attention given to my Mother was nothing short of excellent. It was everything I wished it could be, and more.

My particular thanks to three staff members for their medical expertise, sensitivity and guidance throughout Mum's journey through the various stages of MND.

My brother and I were especially grateful to all the team for ensuring a serine and peaceful passing for my Mum, filled with dignity.

I'm not sure I can adequately praise all the Carers that looked after Mum. But I have been fortunate to get to know some of them, in particular four members of staff. All of whom were incredible, and I know Mum appreciated their support and care.

We were deeply moved by one staff member on Saturday night. She had been tending to Mum all day, then returned in the evening to sit with her until we could get there. Allowing us a few hours with Mum before she gently passed away.

We are so grateful to the team at Silver Birch. We moved both my parents there a couple of months ago because the care is nurse led. The manager (a trained nurse herself) and also the lady who first showed us around were very helpful, knowledgeable and reassuring. They should also be commended for listening
well.
Both my parents have settled well and the care they are receiving is excellent. All the care staff have been great but I particularly want to commend the nurses. Their attention to detail and persistence in making sure that my parents get the medical care that they need from outside agencies has been second to none. I am very grateful to them and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Silver Birch.

I have been in Grand View for 5 weeks to recuperate from an operation. My husband had been in here previously for a year so I knew the home well and had always been impressed by the care he received.
The staff are so patient and kind and go out of their way to attend to all your requirements and
pleasures. I would say that most of them go that "extra mile" to make you happy.
The home is very well run by a delightful manager who takes a personal interest in every resident and all the staff including nurses, carers, kitchen staff, activity staff, cleaners and admin are most efficient and so friendly and carry out their work with a smile. The food is exceptional, varied and all residents are given alternatives to the daily menu. The activities on offer are excellent and led by a jolly team making the days enjoyable.
Not forgetting the support from very competent staff such as the hairdresser and chiropodist.
I have been very happy here and the care I have received has been wonderful.
