My mother was placed in the care home on a D2A placement but the experience was not good.
The care home was "clickly" with some residences being favoured over others by staff and management.
Some staff (not all) were seen and heard to be stern with residents, my mother aired concerns to me that she
was scared of some staff! My mother had dementia and displayed outbursts of anger and frustration particularly to her family. My brother witnessed a staff member scolding my mother saying "don't speak to your son like that he won't come again!" When l heard that l was appalled, that was my mom's worst fear and would never happen, little did she know!
The day my mom was moved (not enough words here me here). I asked if l could come and pack her belonging up. When l arrived to go with her to the new Nursing home her personal possessions, clothes, photos of her grandchildren had been placed in black bin liners and put by the front door for us to collect our way out!
Reply from Becky Anson, Deputy Manager at LeighswoodThank you for taking the time to review our service. Your Mother was only with us for a 3 week period last August/September and unfortunately, she didn't present, nor did you mention that she was fearful of some staff otherwise we would of supported her and alleviated her concerns. It is a shame that the specific interaction you mention between your mother and the staff team has been taken out of context. If you contact us, we are happy to discuss this further. We are aware that you chose not to communicate with some members of the team, but we can arrange for you to speak to one of the senior managers. We are sorry that you feel that it was not a pleasant experience for you as a relative; we have never had this feedback before. We take the comments seriously and will take them on board to ensure moving forward we do not fail to meet anyone's expectations. We wish your Mother well in her new home. Kind Regards, The senior management team.

My mom has been a resident at the care home since October 2023 following a diagnosis of early onset dementia. From the very beginning, the care she has received has been outstanding. Every member of staff goes above and beyond to ensure she is safe, comfortable, and treated with dignity and respect.
Any issues or concerns are dealt with immediately and professionally, which gives me great reassurance.

I visit my mom daily, and over time the care home has truly become a home from home for both of us. I am always greeted with a friendly smile, and staff are never too busy to answer questions or offer a listening ear. Their kindness, patience, and genuine compassion make an incredibly difficult situation much easier to cope with. I have complete confidence that my mom is cared for as an individual, and I am deeply grateful to all the staff for the support they provide every single day.

I visit my sister twice weekly and I find the staff and management very helpful and friendly. My sister has only been in the home for about 8 weeks she is settling in but being her first experience of a care environment, it's taking a little longer for her to be truly content. She says the food is good
and the staff caring and patient. The care home is clean and tidy.

My Mom went to Leighswood about 5 weeks ago after 6 weeks respite in another care home. After feeling reluctanct to move but needing to have a location nearer to family she moved without any problems. The staff at Leighswood cannot do enough for my mom, anything she needs they make happen for her.
Their communication with myself and my family has been brilliant and I feel I can ask them anything no matter how trivial it may seem. My experience is that the residents are respected and cared for with compassion and warmth. My mom never wanted to be in a care home but they do their best to make it feel like home for her. I highly recommend Leighswood Care Home.

A respite care place was arranged for my elderly relative after a series of falls and hospital admissions as they were unsafe in their own home. First impressions of both myself and my sister is that the all the staff and management are very good, with the care of their residents being the top priority.
The senior staff member who met us on the day my relative arrived was very friendly and focused on making my relative feel welcome and likewise the home's manager made time for me to explain my relatives situation, which was reassuring. My relative tells me that the meals have been good and more than enough for him. The room my relative has all the basics you need but maybe looks a little 'tired' in places but meets my relatives needs. However the level of care and concern has more than compensated for any minor issues with the facilities. I cannot comment on the activities undertaken as my relative has been there a short time. Early overall impressions are positive!

It has been very good experience after having had a care crash on the 26 July and how I live alone it has been a very happy stay. In my past jobs I'd been cooking in a Care Home at night for two and a half years, so I could relate my experiences with the time I have been here and knowing what the staff
have to do regarding all the residents care. I will come to visit them all of them and very happy to do so. Wished that my mother could have stayed in a Home like this one, more happy would have been. Thank you.

My dad was placed here after other homes 'fell through', how thankful are we. He has settled so much quicker than we anticipated. He has gained weight and not once uttered, 'When am I coming home?'. The staff and management are approachable, supportive to both Dad and us and downright marvellous. The
home is clean and inviting, no nasty smells that hit you as you walk in. The food is fantastic and plenty of it. But what makes this the best place for my dad are the staff, they are all diamonds.
