My Mum was sent here after a lengthy stay in hospital as a pathway to discharge. I was unable to contact the home on the number I was provided. It took more than 24 hours to be given a mobile number on which I could get an update. In general communication was lacking with social services and another home I have moved Mum too struggling to get hold of the right people. When I visited one day my Mum stated she needed the toilet. We told a carer and she was left for 20 minutes to soil herself. We were told this was in her care plan. On seeing her care plan I noted it actually said she should be assisted to the toilet. To take away my Mum's dignity is just not providing care at all. Her care plan also stated that she needed help and encouragement to eat, however I found her with left alone with a stone cold meal. She was actively discouraged from walking despite being able to walk with assistance. I would not recommend this home to anyone and am pleased to have moved my mum to better care.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are deeply sorry to hear about your mother’s experience and the distress this caused your family during her discharge pathway. Taking away a resident’s dignity or failing to follow a clear care plan is entirely unacceptable and does not reflect...
My mother has resided at Clarendon Court Care Home since June 2022. In my opinion, there isn’t a perfect care home, there will be things that you the relatives of the resident want to be done differently. This home though is one that I would recommend to anyone looking for a place for their loved ones. The staff are friendly and professional at the same time, they will go out of their way to support your wishes and care for my mother in a calm and sensitive way. There have been challenges with my mum’s health recently, she was hospitalised for nearly a fortnight and the manager kept the family informed about the hospital admission and went to assess my mum’s needs to make sure things were in place for mum’s release back to the home. The manager and her team of staff have worked tirelessly to get my mum back to a place of dignity and rebuild her confidence. I’m so grateful for everyone's support that works at Clarendon Court. Everyone strives to be the best they can be.
Thank you for your kind words; it really means a lot to the staff to have such lovely feedback, we are very fortunate to have such caring staff, as well as caring relatives who are actively involved in ensuring their loved ones are supported in the best possible way.
At first, because of Covid restrictions, there didn't seem much in the way of entertainment for the residents. However, in the last six months, this has completely changed, with most of the activities resuming again. The staff are wonderful and completely dedicated as each day can be very challenging with Mum as her dementia worsens, but they treat Mum with the utmost patience and respect at all times. We do not have any concerns at all.
Thank you so much for your kind words. The staff are really dedicated and try really hard to make each day special. I hope we can continue to grow and make this a home where people live their best life.
Although my mother loved living in this home I cannot recommend due to the total disregard of my mother's wellbeing, safety and health. This is due to a lack of professionalism from the management. My mother was evicted from her home during a hospital admission in the Covid pandemic. My mum was essentially homeless. The management deemed my mother a "Covid risk" to other residents which I can understand but a lot of other care homes were in the same situation. My mother was very ill at the time and was advised she needed nursing care but this home was unwilling to accept my mother back until suitable accommodation could be found. I feel the management acted selfishly and showed no compassion towards my mother or us, her family, who had no say on where she ended up and felt she was dumped in the first care home that became available due to Covid. We had no physical contact and we could not offer adequate support to my mother during this difficult time. My mother sadly passed away in December 2020.
Thank you for your review. Please accept our condolences at the sad passing of your mother. I am very disappointed to read its contents, I can see how dissatisfied you were with the lack of compassion/understanding you received from management at such a difficult time. I would like to take this...
We thank you truly from the bottom of our hearts.
Thankyou very much for your kind review, we would like to thank you for your understanding during this time of crisis and the support that you continue to give the home. We hope that things will get back to some form of normality soon and that visiting will resume to some sort of normality. Until...
My sister was admitted to Clarendon Court in August. She was there until today 27/12/12019, as she has now moved to a nursing home. She has severe Alzheimer’s with traumatic behaviour problems, she was placed there by Nottingham Social Services. I cannot thank the staff and managers enough for what they have done for my sister. The managers are so supportive to the families of residents, they helped me through some tough times with my sister. Her Alzheimer’s has progressed at an alarming rate and these past few months she is locked in a living nightmare, which causes her to have abusive and violent outburst to staff and other residents, but the staff have taken it all in their stride. They have managed her above and beyond what is normally called for and it was a sad day today her leaving there but she is so severe with Alzheimer’s she needs 24-hour nursing care. I'd like to thank all the carers, the laundry workers, the cleaners, the chef and kitchen staff and the management.
